Even the writer of the show doesn't know how to finish the crap he started

Richard li makes me watch these crap shows ...if it weren't for him I would have dropped it long ago.

The plot starts with FL being a pet-cum- spy to a psychopath prince ... Who is apparently using her to do all the bad jobs on his behalf ... She is shown to be very talented martial artist ..con artist .. xyz ... Nothing less than a proper intelligence agent at the beginning of the show .. but when it comes to save herself in the later episodes she suddenly becomes the most useless person alive ... Seriously I don't know who tf writes these cringe series .. in the beginning they show these characters so invisible and turn them so dimwit and good for nothing later ... Can you beleive a so called SPY can't find her way out of a bloody palace ... You want me to Beleive this crap ..hell no .. the so called SPY has no talent other than being a concubine and sleeping her way out with the prince .. at first she had fighting talents later she is so helpless she can't even slap him ... WOW ... Logic died ILLOGICALLY...

Male lead had no heroic role ...he is pretty much like a potato rolling down here and there

FL's styling sucks ...her hairstyle is most ugly hairstyle I have ever seen.

The villian is a loser who can even win ministers favours yet stupid ML helps him win the favour and help him become more power ..I mean who in the right mind would do that ..

I can write a whole book on 999 reason why you should skip this show ... Remaining one reason is to watch it for the leads ...

Breaking all stereotypes between man and woman / hero and antihero

Imagine your regular romance drama reverse the gender roles ...this is exactly what you get ... Here the FL general is domineering.. strong..tough ... Manly ...Outgoing ... And Protective ... Whatever you see in ML from other shows she has everything to offer .. while ML is beautiful.. shy .. fragile matrilocal husband doing household chores ( atleast he pretends) ..weak in body (pretends)
The extreme twist in gender roles is what makes this show worth watching

Of course there is a back story of conspiracy going on ..but my bet is on the leads and their romance ..that's the core of the show

Weak roles but compensated by stunning performance by actors (forced tragic end)

The story is little and slow paced .. ridiculed by the back story that hardly makes any sense cause no matter how much you love someone but you won't put sword to your own child's neck to avenge their death ...
Secondly the cast was amazing .. specially both leads ..the looks the acting the chemistry everything was really really good ...
Though the FL lead character is quite anti-lead in a nutshell but as far as her acting performance is concerned I am totally impressed.

The ending was a little forced I suppose cause honestly for genre in the beginning of the show nobody would have expected this type of ending but anyway I don't mind sad ending but this one looks forced tragic ..

Overall watchable but don't watch it if you are into happy endings...
Re-watch value : double zero ... As what's the point of watching something so sad again and again ..

FL overacting spoilt a drama of great potential

Though the story has its own flaws but in my opinion the flaws can be ignored if the performing artists are convincing enough ...
I have seen the ML in back from the brink and honestly his performance as a support role was way better than this one as the main role ..though he tried to maintain the composure of a fox demon and conveyed his emotions of rage quite well but the romantic scene were a little off ...
As for FL, she was disaster .. very non spontaneous though her character is comic and it demands spontaneity yet she tried to cover her horrible performance with over acting which made it even worse ... For example whenever she acted the drunk her performance clearly wanna apart ...
Chemistry between the leads is totally off .. even this kissing scene didn't resonate the emotions ..for some reason I felt they were not comfortable together...

Story was bit slow ... Dynamics of twists were missing ..comedy punches were weak,performed by even weaker artist.

Sweet romance between gamers

The show is watchable... Though a little cringe at times but more or less watchable ... I wish the character of FL were played by someone else ...cheng Xiao is very cute but her acting sucks ... Her expressions are quite FLAT ... You don't believe me watch it again ... She has literally two expressions ... Normal eye face and wide open eye face ... 2 /10 points for her acting. Xu Kai was fine... I like his works but he is not one of my favs ..reason ? He doesn't take challenging roles ... God knows why?? he is better suited for crime thriller playing cops and undercover agents yet he plays these lousy characters. Pfft!!! What a waste.

Either way a good show to watch ...nice time pass

Don't judge the series just by initial few episodes..

The plot is rather frustrating & slow paced at the beginning as we see ML dies without doing much and FL hopelessly bullied by even the servants of the household.I thought of dropping it around episode 8 glad I didn't.
As anyone would expect the return of ML to life and taking it further with the revenge ...but to my surprise first half was totally about FL avenging her husband's death,all alone.
HONESTLY THIS WAS NEW AND THE BEST THING ABOUT THE STORY.

in the first half, she SINGLEHANDEDLY won against the villian. her planning,execution,devotion and focus to the target was commendable,like she was willing to even give away her body to serve her revenge WHAT A BEAUTIFULLY DARK FL ?
The story had some very sensitive plots break like rape and assault to the point of miscarriage but I believe not every story can serve the purpose of fairytale.some series are better off without vanilla romance

Pre world war era .. 1937-1945 sino Japan war time setting.

It is my first time watching something that expresses pre world war era with chinese POV ... It is always the west countries who propagate their narrative of the world war.... So in my opinion the theme was very refreshing to those who have intellect to feel it... Other than that there was one more thing that I found very impressive is the FL character ... Her potential ..her strong will ..her intelligence ... I love the way she kept her mission over everything .... She is an inspiration for thousands of girls out there who just look for a chance to give up on their already good for nothing career just to get laid ... No offense but we need more of such character to show the world what real feminism means ...
ML was amazing as ever I have seen him in a couple of shows and the characters like marshal ... Governor ..etc actually suit him him ...the authority of a strong character actually appears through him quite effortlessly ...

After reading few review I çame to understand some people found the ending quite confusing .. actually after death of general Yamamoto Japanese had to postpone the war ..which gave qin city enough time me to call for extra troops that led to their victory in the region after just a few months of struggle .. As the FL says winter has started ...we will meet when the spring bloom .." hope this helps ????

The drama in my opinion is worth watching I beleive anyone can put atleast one reason forward to appreciate the beautiful story ...

(Of course not for those who are living in a bubble and treat every love story as soft porn )

I want to hit my head against the wall

Such a nonsensical plot filled with just crap and idiocy.
First let's talk about lead actors
Guan Yue was just okay ..I have seen his other shows and genuinely he was not even half as good in this one. Blame it on his weak character or pathetic dialogue writing ..but I like nothing about his character or act.

Now FL !!! Her face looked so beat-up like she is coming to the shooting straight out of her bed ... Her hairstyle was lame ... And did she even take a bath ??? How can someone look so sleepy in the entire show .. and her acting is even more pathetic.. for this weird and complicated character I prefer an actress who can atleast look more AWAKE.

The side character ... Like her bFF and the internet celeb guy were horrible as well ..

Spoiler alert: the FL is having illusions of her boss (ML) where she is imaging him in a bath robe saying all the naughty stuff. ~ Girl !! First of all being attracted to someone is a normal thing but the extremes of your illusions say you are watching too much porn .. all girls have fantasy of being wild with their partners/romantic interests but this is insane, you need help ... Visit a good psychiatrist or reach to some rehab centre...
Infact, It turned so annoying that you will get confused what is real and what's her illusion ..so damn messy.
On top her "won't date won't marry" rule ; like gimme a break! you are ready to climb up his bed ..you are having illusions of him doing the BDSM all day long .. you looked like you are so deprived of a Pen*s .. now with such fragile sexual compass you can not have that heavy "no date no marriage" rule ...


In the end I felt I was totally drained of my patience and ability to take nonsense though I just completed half of the episodes. (Enough to make a clear judgement)

I don't understand the fuss about this show .. it was boring

After reading a lot of comments and reviews I started watching the show ... But I don't think it is worth the hype ... Richard was the only good thing about this show ..story sucked . . FL character sucked ..her acting sucked ... Momentum of the plot sucked ... It was surely not my cup of tea ... The worst thing was the dimwit FL even if I ignore the cringe dialogue still overall character was pathetic .. she is sort of an undercover agent yet she has no sense of entering a place stealthily... She just walks like a stupid person right in the middle of hall ... Worst undercover agent in history ... Well !! After finishing Season 1, it was hard not to miss the original cast...like seriously ... While Ahn Hyo Seop and Lee Sung Kyung are my absolute favourites , it was natural to feel nostalgic for the previous crew. However, if you watch Season 2 with some time gap between, you’ll love this season just as much as the first.

The side cast largely remains the same providing continuity and despite the change in leads, the team dynamic is still strong. The interactions and relationships among the characters remain compelling, with Teacher Kim once again at the center, mentoring and guiding the new doctors with his usual brilliance.

Just like in the first season, the medical cases are accurate and informative. The terminology and procedures are correct, which adds authenticity to the show. However, I felt like there were fewer medical cases this time around compared to Seas


The chemistry between the new leads is wonderful And Their shared history as classmates gave their love story a cutesy feel to it . The male lead though talented has a troubled past involving his family and a senior doctor who lost his license over illegal surgeries. While our the female lead struggles with OR phobia and can't perform surgeries.


Teacher Kim’s role as a wise mentor is still intact he helps both leads with their respective issues thus nurturing them into brilliant medical practitioners

What sets this season apart:

1. The previous season was more or less about cases involving common people but this time it was given A political edge, particularly with a major case involving the Minister of Defense.


2. The number of medical cases is lower with the focus gradually shifting towards a trauma center setup from the previous hospital setup.


3. The leads have more complex and morally grey backstories compared to the previous ones.



Definitely worth watching ??

congratulations to the chinese writers at last they wrote something so nauseating that has broken all records ... Where to start with ... Let's talk about the LOVE STORY ... The ML is sleeping away with his cheap concubine who harasses the FL ,who is further physically abused by someone as lowly as a palace guard ... She is forced to jump off the cliff and compromise between life and death ..she is left all injured even her face can't be saved ..yet the shameless ML says he is doing all this out of love to save her ..bosdi k (MOFO) if this is love then people don't need enemies .. she is forced to jump off the cliff and commit suicide cause he wants to save her ....
Just catch the bloody writer and shoot him/her on the spot ... This type of stories are not good for any society's morals ...and by all means I wish the writer is forced to jump a multi story building for their lover's attempt to keep them save ... Let him/ her have the taste of their own medicine ...

Seriously I am beyond myself with rage on what in the f-king world I just watch ... Pathetic hopeless ...this is against the entire human race ... The day people will start making their lover jump the cliff the entire human race will come to an end ...

first of all daisy li is so beautiful ... lets take a moment to appreciate her beauty ..and of course her acting

now the story which as we know revolving around a woman who will willing to avenge the death of her family by a opium trafficing mafia ... as such there is nothing unique in the plot but i like all stories that have strong smart and independent FL ... the chemistry between leads was bomb even when they were playing reluctant of each other's identities. on the whole it;s ok ok

This one is going to stay in my heart forever

Different dramas hit differently to different people ... As for me "back from the brink" is the one that is going to stay at the top in my heart forever ..
The story along with its executive was superb,everything from VFX to background music was so spot on like the team behind the camera is as enthusiast as the actors in making this into a masterpiece piece.
We discuss about the cast and their acting ..the dragon King "tianyao" NEO Hao, he played it so well I mean I have seen a lot different actors playing dragon God dragon/King but he is the closet thing to a dragon King in my imagination..his expression ...his smile ...the calmness in his aura ... Gosh ! OUTSTANDING... He makes you wanna worship him like a dragon God ...iykyk ... This was my first thing me watching him and he left this everlasting impression that he is going to be my fav asian actor.
Zhou ye was as amazing as always ..she is the only actress who is so cute but doesn't rely on her cuteness but actually works hard on her acting ... Her energy and dialogue delivery is so spontaneous. I love her ?
Other actors did equally brilliant ..I can't pick out any negative thing about this drama ...

(Shhh actually I can .... The only negative thing was ,it had only 40 episodes ?‍??‍??‍??‍??‍??‍?
Good things come to an end so quickly ...)

Title tracks and OST were so good ...infact The closing track was sung by NEO himself ...I put it as my ringtone ..hehe !!

Lastly ...
Am I going to watch it again ... ABSOLUTELY may be after 5-6 months ..I know I will never get bored of this one.
(Am I looking for season 2 .. Season 2 is not possible cause the original story in novel is completed in the show.)
