A drama where there's no drama between the leads
If you mainly focus on the romance and complicity between the two leads, I'd say this deserves a great review. This drama stands out from other dramas largely because there was no misunderstandings and trust issues between the leads. Surprisingly, they were fairly honest and trusted each other regardless of the obstacle that came along their way. This might be one of the reasons why so many people fell in love with this drama. The main couple was actually really adorable together. Beside, most people like the usual "popular and cold male lead that is only nice to the female lead " and "the female lead who is desired by many is only shy and adorable with the male lead" kind of trope. Another thing that was interesting with this drama was that they actually showed the "live action" of the game they played. I think this might also be another element that made this drama more compelling. I say you should definitely judge for yourself. Was this review helpful to you?

I DO NOT HAVE HIGH EXPECTATION FOR SEASON TWO...
The acting wasn't the biggest issue here. Stiff acting could be overlooked occasionally if the story is great and compelling. This is definitely not the case with this one. If you think that getting attacked and robbed by thugs is a great way to start a romance and actually believe you can forgive the STRANGER who got you involved in all of this then this is definitely your cup of tea.I completely skipped all the scenes with the main couple because nothing about them was interesting. I honestly didn't see nor felt any chemistry between them. The second male lead is the epitome of boyfriend material but choosing him was never a choice.
I stayed for the second couple. Their story wasn't all laid out and that made it even more engrossing. Learning slowly how they use to be together without knowing the reason why they broke up made you want to root for them even more. However, after the last two episodes, I wasn't so sure anymore if it was even worth watching. I'm uncertain if season two will deliver the type of plot I'm hoping to see with these two.
Overall, this series is barely enjoyable. One thing for sure, I don't have high expectation for part2.

I wish I could unsee this season
A complete disappointment. I'll just go on and say that it's a total waste of time. I seriously waited nearly two years for this...? I feel so let down. The story didn't make sense and I seriously can't understand anyone who actually liked it. Jojo is probably the most idiotic character of the century. I honestly couldn't relate to her whatsoever. I also didn't like the flow of the story since it felt somewhat rushed. It was hard for me to ship her with HY because there was no proper pacing in the way their relationship was brought up. It felt like they were so desperately trying to push them down my throat. Honestly, what's wrong with the script? They seriously could have done better. The actors on the other hand were great! If they ever decide to make a third season, I can't guarantee that I'll watch it and I wouldn't be surprised if no one is enthusiastic about this idea. They sincerely should leave it at that and accept that this season was a disaster. I don't recommend this season and I sincerely wish I could unsee it.Was this review helpful to you?

No one can unsee The Untamed nor can they ever forget it.
Nowadays, we are blessed with great bromance/BL dramas and movies from many places around the world. But only a handful of them can leave an amazing impression on us. One that you always end up coming back for more. The Untamed is the best example for me.
First of all, they had to change many things of the original story because of the censorship in China. In the novel, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji are obviously lovers, but in the series, they are "bosom friends". Nonetheless, the story was still amazing despite the changes. he scenery is breathtaking, and each clan's design and concept is brilliantly thought out. Despite being labelled as a "xianxia" drama, The Untamed incorporates many elements of traditional wuxia dramas while blending them with a new style. The cinematography and transition from one scene to the next were both excellent. The plot is far from boring, and the story flows extremely well. Once I started watching, I couldn't stop. But I'm going to say that the highlight of the series, was definitely the chemistry between Xiao Zhan (Wei Wuxian ) and Wang Yibo (Lan Wangji ). Even thought they were portrayed as "bosom friends", they obviously left us with the biggest impression that the both of them loved each other dearly and that they were in fact soulmates. No matter what people say, this was far from a bromance drama. I'm also going to praise the other actors because all of them were incredible in their roles. I'm going to be completely honest with you, the CGI's were not that spectacular and at times they were simply alright, but I couldn't care less at this point because I got hooked on the complexity of the story and what each character brings. I will just say that overall, this drama is a real masterpiece and that I will probably end up watching it a hundred times. Also the Ost is so catchy and you might end up downloading it or listen to it multiple times. (The two leads actually sing that song together)
PS. I wish I was better with words or able to give better reviews, but I just want to say that this drama was and will always be one of the best Chinese BL drama for me and hopefully my review left you wanting to watch this amazing drama.

Everything was good except the romance...
When I first started watching, I was hooked instantly. Everything about this drama seemed to be what I was looking for, however, I was wrong. The cinematography was amazing, the music was great and the cast was definitely well chosen but the romance didn't do justice to the story. I felt no chemistry whatsoever between the two leads and their "romance" completely ruined it for me... The ending is extremely disappointing and feels quite bland and flat. Honestly, the antagonist was the sole reason I kept watching. I expected better. I recommend this drama only when you have nothing better to watch. Was this review helpful to you?
I TOLD EVERYONE ABOUT THIS DRAMA
This is a real masterpiece. There was not a single thing I hated about this drama. The story was so down to earth and it has the ability to really take all your attention. The characters are fairly realistic and you will catch yourself getting so invest in their "life" that you will be able to resonate with them or at the least understand them. Not only you will like the main leads, but you will also fall for the side characters. The cinematography was amazing, the music was well chosen and the dialogues felt really natural. If unseeying something was possible, you would totally unsee this drama just so you could experience watching it once again for the first time. Was this review helpful to you?
Let's face it, this was beyond bromance!
This is yet another Chinese drama where censorship means literally nothing. The chemistry was legit noticeable and didn't feel like bromance whatsoever. This is a real masterpiece. If I had to choose a drama among thousands to have a sequel, this drama would definitely be at the top of the list. This is one of those drama that doesn't need a kissing scene or a bed scene to make you feel and notice the chemistry between the leads. Although the drama and the novel are slightly different, the overall feeling remain the same. This was beyond bromance and I was there for it. Honestly, they both were made for their role and I seriously wouldn't see anyone else playing the part. The story was fairly interesting and there was no boring moment. I have to be honest, the special effects weren't that great and at time quite laughable, but you really shouldn't let this hold you from watching it. If you are like me, the type of person who usually doesn't like to watch a drama that has over twenty episodes, I just want to tell you that there's always some exceptions. Guardian has forty episodes and it truly wasn't enough. You should diffidently give it a try.Was this review helpful to you?
The fact that Word Of Honor won three awards tells it all!
Best Production, Best Visual Effects and lastly the Most Talked About. This wuxia was great on so many levels. The story was far from being boring and in fact kept me wanting for more. You can clearly see that everything was well thought of. The characters, the costumes, the cast, the sceneries even down to the music and dialogues. Everything was decided and chosen meticulously. But let's face it, the highlight of this drama was the chemistry between the two leads. It was extraordinary and noticeable. The little details and the way they played their characters nearly made me forget the censorship. After finishing Guardian and The Untamed, I was looking for a great drama to fill the void and honestly, Word Of Honor was the perfect choice. The minor thing that bothered me was when they played the flute. The music/sound didn't match the blowing/moving of the lips. For some people, this little detail could be quite annoying but this drama was amazing nonetheless. I highly recommend it!
PS. this drama actually have a great ending. You have to look for the final episode/alternate ending.

Yet another amazing version of Fated To Love You
As the majority would agree with me, no one would like to experience being pregnant after a one night stand with a complete stranger, but after seeing a drama like this one, you can imagine yourself having a fun night out and waking up the next day next to Wang Xi Yi and feel quite excited about it. All joke aside, this remake of Fated To Love You (2008) was fairly enjoyable. The leads have a great complicity and they were really adorable. I also caught myself laughing a few time. Although, I believe this drama should have been slightly shorter. It felt like it was really dragging at some point and I think twenty episodes or so would have been perfect. Anyhow, one thing that I like, is that they didn't change too much of the original story. I know that some may disagree with me and say that when it's too similar, there's no element of surprise and thus making it boring, but I beg to differ. I think that no matter how similar a story is or even if it was exactly the same, it sincerely depends on how great the directors and the cast is. A great cinematography, amazing actors, perfect music... if you have none of these, regardless of how different the story might be or how original you want it to be, it might just turn out to be the opposite. In conclusion, this drama was to my liking and I recommend it to whoever likes a drama that includes a love triangle, slow built romance and forced marriage romance. Was this review helpful to you?
ARE WE SURE THESE TWO AREN'T TOGETHER? BECAUSE IT FEELS SO REAL...
It is more than obvious by now that these two have an undeniable chemistry, but in this season specifically, they sure have outdone themselves. It was off the charts! The tension between them was electrifying, every kiss was stimulating and every time they looked at each other you could feel every emotion that was put into their acting. It felt so real that I started to wonder if they aren't really together. This is how great they were. Storywise, let's be honest, it was slightly lacking but with the cinematography, the music and the overpowering acting that this drama has, you can easily ignore it. Overall, this drama is definitely worth watching and I hope we will get to see them reprise their roles once again in the third season. Was this review helpful to you?

THIS MIGHT BE A WRONG ADDICTION, BUT I LIKE IT!
The story in it's core was amazing, but there is one thing that didn't exactly sit right with me and that is the intimate scenes that portrayed a "dubious consent" rather than an "explicit" one and that explains why i only gave it a six. Other than that, this drama is a real masterpiece. The chemistry between them whether it was onscreen and offscreen was quite outstanding. This drama was popular for a reason and that reason is obviously the two male leads. Huang and Xu showed us how capable and incredibly talented they both are. This drama was so popular back then and remains the most popular boy love series ever made from mainland China till this day. Despite the phenomenal success of the drama, it was revealed that its second season was permanently cancelled, and the government unofficially banned the two actors from appearing at any events or on television together. However, there was a rumor about a second season being filmed in Taiwan in 2019. It would be amazing if the both of them reprise their role. Was this review helpful to you?
One of the best rivals to lovers story.
If you are looking for one of those really long review about this drama, sadly this is not one of them. I'm only going to say that you definitely need to watch this BL because the chemistry between the leads is simply amazing and even though the story is slightly unoriginal, it is still fairly absorbing . The actors played their roles incredibly well and you absolutely should go watch the second season right after this one. I really enjoyed watching it and I honestly think you should give this gem a chance. Was this review helpful to you?
I think I fell in love with the same person twice but with different personality.
The first episode got me hooked and I've spent the rest of the drama glued to my screen. This psychological and romance comedy easily stands out from other dramas of this genre. Even though this drama focused on a few psychological disorders, it was included and portrayed with such a fantastic approach . The psychology wasn't overbearing, the comedy wasn't to exaggerated and the romance was flowing nicely with the pace of the drama. I really enjoyed watching the two leads play together after Secret. They have a great chemistry. This is definitely a must watch and I highly recommend it!Was this review helpful to you?
Don't let the number of episodes hold you back !
I was debating for quite a while before I decided to watch this drama since it has 63 episodes, but I'm really glad that I ended up watching it. This is now one of my favorite Chinese romance drama. The story was so interesting that it kept me glued to my screen and impatient to start the next episode. All the actors were incredible and portrayed their character amazingly well. The chemistry between the leads is undeniable and they obviously know how to make our heart flutters. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this drama. I just wished it was longer. I highly recommend it!Was this review helpful to you?
I HATE THAT I LOVED IT SO MUCH...
I came across a FMV of the two leads on Youtube and I fell in love instantly with their chemistry and I had the urgent need to watch this drama right away. Little did I know that they romanticize abuse towards women... (I'm going to say it right now, I do not agree nor that I condone this type of behaviors, far from that!) That being said, I started watching it and I honestly couldn't stop. Their on screen chemistry is just out of this world and they kept me hooked and wanting for more. This is the main reason why I hate that I love this drama so much. I just want to point out that the male lead mainly yells, grabs her wrist or shoulders forcefully and says spiteful remarks to her. If you think you can't handle these things, I recommend that you completely avoid this drama. Anyhow, the story kept me on my toes and I was always eager to know what was coming next. In short, I recommend it to anyone who can get around the matter above and to anyone who likes enemies to lovers type of plot. Was this review helpful to you?
