Sweet, adorable and funny moments
Another excellent series of Zhao Lusi. This series is very sweet, heart warming, adorable and endearing. A childhood crush come true is, I guess, many people's dream. All the casts in this series really did a great job on the series. I love every single one of them. The male and female lead of course is also extremely excellent - also working together as a couple. The innocence and shyness of both of them is very cute to watch at many scenes, though the overthinking on the female lead's part does hit home alot in reality. I bet many of us also thinks like her in certain scenarios of life. Really reflect alot on real life scenarios etc. The songs paired for this series is also beautiful. Was this review helpful to you?
It is nice but abit too long winded
Ruyi´s Royal Love in the Palace is indeed an extremely beautiful series to watch, although I feel that 80 odd episodes is abit tad long winded. This series is not to be taken lightly and in some scenes "not for the faint hearted". The "drama" is very dramatic and in certain episodes, extremely cruel and wicked. The entire casts really did an extremely good job for this series. I am really touched with the love Ruyi has for the emperor right up till the end, however, it is very saddening to watch certain parts of the series. I have to admit .... I skipped certain episodes when the "drama" became too intense for me to bear. The songs are also quite soothing and nice to listen to. This series would be a very good series to watch, however..... unless you really love the extreme drama, cruelty etc then a rewatch is "go for it". I have watched a couple of times but in the end stopped to move on because no matter how many times of re-watching it, I can´t bring myself to watch certain episodes. xDWas this review helpful to you?
It's cute alright
I have watched this series twice so far. Read the comments from various people about this series also. I admit, there are many loopholes / inconsistency / "hanging parts" in the series. However, overall the series is actually a very nice and light series to watch with alot of humor and adorableness in the series. I actually watched it because of Huang Jun Jie but I came to really like the series for the funny parts. Yes, like every other series that is existing out there, there are it's flaws but I don't see why should the entire production be shot down just cause of bad writing? Even in books we have shitty authors. I think the casts, all of them, did a good job in this series. As mentioned in the provided synopsis of the series, Tian Qi is an imperial doctor living in the General's house. Yes there are comments out there stating that there isn't much "healing" done. Are you guys expecting the entire series to have a plague or something that the doctor is needed 24/7? There are some "doctors needed" scenes throughout the movie. Also, it is not a healing movie so why should there be exaggerating amount of healing in the series? The music paired to this series is also quite awesome.
If you are looking for something light, not too serious but alot of comedy, I would recommend a first time watch. However, it's up to you - after you complete the 24 episodes - to decide whether is it worth the extra binge / rewatch moments. I have no regrets or rants about this series.

Good and evil, yin and yang
I watched this series mostly because Zhao LuSi was in it. Even from the beginning, I felt that 40 episodes is abit long, in my personal opinion. The show, overall, is a very good series. Good vs Evil, yin and yang etc. Sometimes, while watching, I find Xiao Bai (the 2nd male lead) abit 木头 or daft especially in the feelings / relationship department. However, if your upbringing tells you romance etc is bad, I am not surprised. Although it is sad that ultimately you sacrifice your love one just for the betterment of yourself. The relation / chemistry between the 2 male lead and Zhao Lu Si is very very good. Has also alot of good teachings in the series, if you really watch and analyze the series. There is no such thing as pure goodness without any evil existing. We all have our light and dark side, it is just an individual decision on how and where you want to walk.
I would recommend the series for it's storyline (though if you are looking for something short, 40 episodes would not be your thing) and the music is very nice. The beginning theme from Zhao LuSi, very very catchy and cute song.

I love it
I stumbled upon this series because my YouTube feed had the theme song on it. I got curious about it after watching snippets of the show on the theme song played. This is my 2nd time watching Caeser Wu on screen - 1st was Meteor Garden - and I have to say it is pretty awesome! The story line is extremely fascinating, fantastic (only in my opinion) and extremely fun to watch. It has a combination of quirkiness, seriousness, "drama" and of course the female lead´s cheekiness. Combined with good acting from all the actors and actresses involved to the good music pairing, I would say this would be a nice series to watch. Was this review helpful to you?
New Jackie Chan Movie
It is wonderful to see a new Jackie Chan movie, though seeing this movie does really show how much age has caught up to Jackie Chan also. The movie has alot of humor in it, started with humor but ended up really tearing up at the end. It is a very touching move. You may want to watch it with a pinch of everything nice and stop side tracking movies. Animal activists etc, please..... if you wanna pick a movie, there are tons of movies that includes animals including the olden times - even the English movies. If you want to watch a movie, watch with an open mind.Overall, it is a really good show to watch - hey it's Jackie Chan after all! - and all the casts did very well in this movie. The songs are also nicely paired, I love the duet Jackie did (was rather hard to find also - without any snippets of the movie in the song. It is definitely worth a first watch, the rewatch would have to base on individual thinking of the movie.

Worth a watch
Watched this series some time back. It caught my interest because of Damian Lau, Kevin Cheng and Nicky Wu. Initially, I was expecting it to be in Cantonese, so I was mildly surprise to hear it in Mandarin. Have never watched any series with Damian Lau and Kevin Cheng in Mandarin - seen them mostly in TVB. Was a first. But I still love the series. The storyline is, in my opinion, very interesting and intriguing and in certain episodes teeth gritting and frustrating. The entire cast of this series did an extremely great job filming this series - definitely great job! The songs are very beautifully paired with the series. Was this review helpful to you?
Amazing, beautiful and yet sad at parts
Got attracted to this series because of Zhao Lusi. I have to say, this series (2 seasons but many they just combined it together so it is a whooping total of 50+ episodes) is quite nice to watch. There are alot of quirky and fun moments and also a few drama moments and the "omg I just want to kill that person and get rid of it once and for all" moments. The male and female lead did a very good job in their roles, not to mention all the other casts as well. I really love how the way the male lead carefully and lovingly protects the female lead all the time, even secretly, though I really hate how he still kept so many dark secrets despite the female lead asking him completely point blank if there was anything else he is hiding. Nonetheless, the series turns out great - in my personal opinion... you may think otherwise - and I actually like watching it. The music paired to this series is also quite nice. Was this review helpful to you?

Fascinating and thrilling
I find this movie quite interesting. Yang Mi's acting here is way much better than some of the series that she has acted in. I actually like the tough Yang Mi compared to a few previous shows I watched of hers that is like a weak female. She also doesn't sound that high pitch and softie in this movie either. If you are looking for some action and mystery and thrilling + excitement and you find the synopsis to your interest, then this would be an interesting first watch. There are a variety of action, suspense and not to mention sad moments.I was definitely watching with gripping "omg what will happen after this" moments but I will say that I bawled my eyes out seeing how the guide dog died. That was heart jerking and my extremely in need of alot of tissues moment. But other than that, it definitely is a recommended movie for people who love action and thrillers.

Could have done better without the "ending dramas"
I have never watched any of the male and female lead shows before this one. I have to say I actually quite like this show, they make a remarkable pair together - romantically and all -along with their funny antics. All in all, I would say the entire crew + casts did a great job bringing this series to life. Though they could have minimized the episodes and make do without the last few episodes with the extra drama and etc from the 2nd female lead and the greedy family. Those episodes, to me only, was quite a turn off and I ended up skipping quite alot of scenes from the last few episodes. Other than that, I would say this series is a good first time watch - especially if you like what you read in the synopsis. As for re-watching, it would really depend on individual to decide if it is worth the 2nd shot. To me, not really, unless I watch this for the funny, romantic and awesome parts and completely skip the last few episodes again. The songs paired for this series is also quite nice. Looking forward to hunting down the songs.

It's cute but not something I would rewatch
The series initially caught my eyes because my random playlist in YouTube had one of the songs in it. Synopsis wise, it was sounding really interesting and as it was only 24 episodes long, I decided to give it a go - also because Lin Yi was starring in it and I kinda find him quite an alright actor. Overall, the entire cast of this series did a good job bringing the show to life. Story wise, I did not really find it fascinating anymore after watching it. Sadly, I would admit that this is the first show, after watching the first 11 episodes, I decided to skip to the last 2 to watch ( xD) .Zhou Ye as the Main Female lead was awesome. I really like her outspoken attitude - in the series. Both her and Lin Yi do make quite a compatible pair - romantically or whether while in game etc. But that is all about it.
The music paired for this series is awesome. I sort of enjoyed the OST more than the entire series. Maybe one day, I will try to watch the entire series from episode 1 till end, but for now, watching first 11 episodes and the last 2 have to make do.

It's alright
My personal two cents regarding this series. The show is alright, I wouldn't say bad or good. I have seen quite a number of shows from Shen Yue and Chen Zhe Yuan, but somehow I don't really see the chemistry of romance between this 2. They are a nice pair, especially comically, but I wouldn't say they are "sparks are flying" kind. Story wise, it is quite nice, although it was quite a turn off (in a way) to find out that it was all a book. The entire cast did quite a good job bringing the series to life, that is for sure.I don't regret watching the show, but for me - personally - I would not really go for a rewatch.
The music is not that bad, I especially love the duet sung by both Shen Yue and Chen Zhe Yuan. Beautifully sung.

Perseverance always wins
Overall the series is very good. Showing you that never giving up on your dreams will work, as long as you persevere through all the hardships, no matter how tough they get. All the casts actually did a nice job bringing this series to life. However, personally.... I find the male lead's extreme clingy"ness" and childishness in certain things very irky. It does have it's appeal but I still feel that it is overdone throughout the whole series. Nonetheless, I managed to watch thru the whole series, though it wouldn´t be rewatched because of the clingy"ness". Nice music pairing though! Was this review helpful to you?
Not too bad, not too good
Accidentally stumbled upon this series via my YouTube feed. The series length is alright, not too long. Talks about Twins and switching of places etc - good twin, bad twin. There has been quite a few series of these sort. Other than the male lead, I did not really recognize any of the other casts. Story wise, it is alright. Not something I am really fascinated with or jumping about it. It is also not something I would rewatch. It is a nice first time to watch series, however, if you personally love series about twins switching places and plots of snatching power etc, then it would be something for you. The songs are also quite nice to listen to.Was this review helpful to you?
