Dinner date anyone?

They say don’t talk to strangers.

When I had my first heartbreak the first person who knew about it is the cab driver. I can’t contain my sadness and cried inside the cab, when the driver asked me what is wrong; I just spill out everything to him. He was just listening to me and very seldom interrupts me but his being there with the sympathetic ear encourage me to pour my heart out. Knowing it would be likely to meet him again, ever, I have told him my story in all honesty, the details, the ugly parts and everything in between. There is no holding back. Why? Because he is a stranger. He can judge me, he can give his advice no matter how hurtful it may be, he can say whatever he wants but because he is a stranger to me I can accept it.

This Kdrama is about this premise. The lead actor becomes the stranger that was able to witness the lead actress’s misfortunes in her relationships and become the person she has become so honest and truthful about her life. The guy who is also reluctant to open up about his own relationship and brokenness to others has begun to accept the concept and the comfort of opening up with the person that is not in any way familiar and interested with his stature as a well-known Psychiatrist.

They decided to become the strangers one is comfortable enough to have dinner dates and talk about anything and everything in their lives except the information of knowing ones name and pre-occupation and not crossing the line of liking each other. The truthfulness, the comfort, and the enjoyment of having someone who understand and listen has caused them both to breach their agreement and knowing both their identities has led them to more complicated situations that they need to resolve to stay true.

The story also tackles other relationships that hamper our growth as a person, the fear of judgement and failures, of obsession for acceptance, mental health problems, total forgiveness that brought about healing and transcending social norm that women marry for future comfort rendering them weak and incapable.

I love watching this kdrama and I have lots of take away but what stands is the authenticity of our own life, being true to yourself and to people, we make mistakes and have weaknesses and we suffer the consequences of bad decisions and we should own up to these and not blame our partners, our friends, our work, our peers our families. In our pursuit of what we called “grandiose dreams” in the guise of offering such to people we love are in itself the reasons of our inability to express and show our love and affection. This blinds us and become selfish pursuits to fill our egos. How ironic is it for a successful mother who published a book about good food but can’t even remember a shared meal with her family in her deathbed. Now she feels the pain of longing doubled by the realization of how it also causes suffering to her son deprived of her love. Then time runs out.

Another reason to love it is it's OST from
Eun's Midnight Cinderella, to Shaun's More than Words, Ovan's Would you like to have Dinner , MC's Yummy Yummy, Sondia's Dear My Star and Ryu Ji Kwang's With You. Everything is in my playlist and I even play it on guitar. It just makes me feel good listening to it.

The actors Seo Ji-Hye and Song Seung Hon's beautiful chemistry on screen adds up to the magic also and so with the rest of the cast. If you love light romantic dramas like me, then this should be on your dinner plate.

May we never run out of time loving, the meals we shared on the table become as meaningful as the presence of those around it. Enjoy watching. Bon Appetit!

When Stars Collide

This week all my five dramas are coming to end one after the other and as usual I find it hard to move on finding another drama to watch specially if I enjoyed watching the previous ones. I don't know what to call it but I tend to drama shop, watch one episode and then drop, then look again watch and drop. I know I'm not the only drama fan that has experienced this set back after a beautiful drama watch. Then I came across a write up wherein the writer at the end gave a list of her on going watch and all time favorites. I always compare titles and on the look out for possible good titles, I'm also done with her Korean titles but was curious with the three Chinese drama titles she is watching. Although I have watched several Chinese dramas already I can't say I'm a fan. So I tried to look out from MDL the title You are my Glory, watch the trailer and decided to watch episode 1, after which I know...
I was hooked. The story is simple but real, both main characters Yu Tu and Jingjing are so good looking and I find their chemistry so alluring and sweet. I like the slow build up of their friendship and Jingjings honesty when it comes to her feelings for Yu Tu. There is something in their ordinary meetings that tugs your heart.
When stars collide there are explosions and sparks, and struggles, and we don't want as much to happen.
When we come to realize the love that is in front of us we can either embrace it or feel inferior and walk away...
But then love always find a way ♥️

Eternal Love

I have watched I Am Robot and Are You Human Too and what made me stick to watch till the end is enjoying the kdrama that is written and meant for us to enjoy.

This is what made me enjoy watching My Absolute Boyfriend too. The story shows us how love overtime could wane, becomes a nuisance and eventually a source of frustrations and annoyance, sometimes a deterrent to our dreams and ambitions and here comes a robot that promises to give in to all our dating wants and desires sans the actual physical aspect I guess but will be there on your beck and call. He fills in for an absentee boyfriend and in the end succeeds in making her girlfriend fall for him. A loving and loyal companion. Who wouldn't fall for that specially for a girl that loves so much and must have to contend with what is little attention thrown her way from her famous boyfriend.

But should we really succeed to programme love according to our wants and needs? Then we will fail having to measure all of that all the time. We end up being lonely.

Like watching kdramas, I don't want to rate or rant about it once I decide to watch (I like the plot, I love the actors, I like the set and scenery, the OST keeps me humming the songs all day) and then like Alice in Wonderland I enter the story and let it grow in me, I laugh, I cry, and get happy. Why would I want to change anything in it.

I have never let reviews stop me to watch kdramas. I don't even read them. I can name a number of underrated dramas I watched that has given me the most satisfying experience. There are those I watch then stop then drop then watch again and to my surprise it becomes one of my favorite. Then I realized it's not about what can sway me to watch or not but my own judgement my genrousity to like it or not.

And My Absolute Boyfriend did not disappoint me and see how every episode would lead me to a love worthy of all memories. So I watched it.

Like love and life every day is a surprise. Live it.

Find your treasure...

Why I watched this without hitting the fast forward button? It's refreshing specially for a nature lover like me. It's a story about friendship and the choice between this or the pursuit for power to conquer the world.

I like the concept of shielding the school from the outside world in developing talents and intellects and yet it was never spared by the war between friends and collegues brought about by sheer greed breaching trust and loyalty sacrificing to the very last ounce whatever dignity that's left, stripping self of everything even life itself.

My niece Mau told me she find it off and unrealistic with people having majical powers, but then it doesn't bother me at all, I guess I believe each one of us possesses such powers unknowns to us, and in our frenzy to possess such powers we become shortsighted to the realities around us so even with seeing eyes we tend to become blind, we shield ourselves from pain, neglecting the lessons and eventually become calloused to the pain of the world.

There are different paths for all of us and we decide which to choose but no matter how far we'd go we will always find ourselves anchored to that solid foundation we have nurtured all these years. Ourselves. In the final test how are we going to fare?

There at the peak of Moorim Mountain they found the treasure that would make them the most powerful in the world.

Let music comfort you and set you free

I just watched Ep3 and Ep4 and I already rewatched the show from start to finish. What's so refreshing about this drama is that after seeing Kim Min Jae in Dr. Romantic I was rooting for him to have a major role and he never fails to impress, add to this is his very cool voice, I become a fan. On the other hand it's my first time to watch Park Eun Bin and the chemistry between these two shy introverted people is really something to behold.

I love the slow unfolding their friendship gets into from awkwardness, to stealing glances, to exchanges of sweet smiles and the connection they steadily gain while opening up to each others pains.

I can relate to how they seek to be consoled with their music as I also play an instrument that has been my companion specially on times when words fail and I rely on my music to soothe my soul.

This is one beautiful masterpiece to watch after I find myself soaking to too much hospital and legal settings. I can't resist their smiles so I had it as my wallpaper. A reminder that with music and love there is always a reason to smile.

A breathe of fresh air indeed.
