The uses of honorifics employed by Il Ri connotes a different level of relationship she had between Hee Tae and Kim Joon. During the period when she was dating Kim Joon, Il Ri addressed Hee Tae as "dangsin" (a more affectionate reference to "you" which can be interpreted as "dear") in private as well as in the presence of Kim Joon. In comparison, Il Ri rarely called Kim Joon "dangsin" in public or in the presence of Hee Tae. The only occasion she called Kim Joon "Dangsin" many times was when he asked her to what he meant to her. Most of the time, Il Ri addressed Kim Joon as "Carpenter Kim". This stark contrast is evident in her final farewell visit and letter to Kim Joon & Hee Tae respectively. In the former situation, Il Ri never addressed Kim Joon as "Dangsin" but in her farewell letter to Hee Tae, she used "dangsin" to address Hee Tae many times.
