Is it just me who sees the holes in this?
Don't get me wrong , I was relieved to see a happily ever after for them, I'm just a bit confused because it doesn't seem to go along with what was previously said. They had stated in ep 36 that the person transferring qi would either die or lose their martial arts. It seems in the end that neither happened to Kexing. His hair turned white but he's still very much alive and doing martial arts with Zishu. I'm glad to see this but I can't help but wonder if I missed something because this seems contradictory .Was this review helpful to you?
Reunion: The Sound of the Providence Season 2

Only one thing to say
First off I have to say Zhu Yi Long is incredible. All of the actors were top notch in their roles. Overall great story with some frustrations in my opinion . My only complaints lie within the story and production which I won't get into as I posted them in my review on season 1. In my opinion, Bai Haotian and Chinese censorship ruin this story. Her character would have been perfectly fine if it wasn't obvious that her sole purpose was to throw off bl vibes between Wu Xie and Qiling . Same can really be said for the other female roles as well. It's a little bit annoying that it's clear that was their only use.Was this review helpful to you?

Where do I even begin ?
First off , acting was excellent. All of the actors were very strong in their roles and did an amazing job. My biggest issue with this drama is that it started out with strong bl vibes between Xiao Ge and Wu Xie only to throw in a girl halfway through to derail it. Though not the fault of the actors, that was incredibly annoying, and almost made me want to stop watching. Chinese censorship is to blame. It ruins so many stories that could have had such great potential. Hey China, that's not how gay relationships work. Get with the modern times , it's embarrassing for you! My other issue is in the story itself. It started out so strong so I had such high hopes but then it just seem to slack off and lose track of the original story entirely. Might as well have called the drama The 11th Warehouse because they dropped the ball completely on the original story (which is a shame because it started out amazing) and it becomes almost entirely about this warehouse mystery and everyone and everything else is forgotten. They stop showing the group investigating the underground river including Xiao Ge about halfway through. Honestly the first half is great, as long as you stop watching before the warehouse and Bai Haotian come into the story. The warehouse bits seemed to drag on way too long. Too many side stories that seem random and irrelevant and have a totally different vibe from the rest of the drama. I'm sorry, as sad as Piaopiaos story is, she was a completely irrelvaent character that appeared out of nowhere 2/3 of the way through and is suddenly taking over half the screen time. Her story has nothing to do with the rest of the drama aside from being a childhood classmate and feels completely unnecessary to be taking up so much screen time . It throws off the whole feel of the drama and gives it a sloppy feel. And maybe I'm missing something but the warehouse stories didn't make a lot of sense and had a lot of holes. For instance, only one tiny entrance to that child warehouse that no adult can get through..then how did the goods get in and out? How did third uncle live for years in that dead area with no food, and yet they have fully functional electronics ? I got really annoyed with the warehouse test. Seriously, how much time do we need to waste watching them retake it over and over? Makes no sense that they're disqualifying exam takers over the smallest thing, yet no one else seems to notice the legit sword fighting and attempted murders going on? Also it gets annoying that adults in Asian dramas are so petty and childish . It's more like high school drama. Also, I am aware there is a season 2 that continues the story, which I have not seen yet, but this is also a bit annoying to me. I wish they had done this as one complete 62 ep series instead of 2 seasons. Clueless sites like Viki only upload one season and not the other so it's a bit pointless. Might as well only upload half a series. Was this review helpful to you?
Please use the actors voice
First and foremost..Shame on these Chinese drama producers who don't use the actors real voices. If I want to see a particular actor, I want to hear their real voice and emotions, not some fake voice actor dub over. Why is this even a thing? If you're going to hire an actor then accept them as they are. How insulting to those actors to not use their real voices and emotional expression. I feel bad for them. Not to mention it looks tacky because it's quite obviously not their voice. Shame! Who really thinks this is a good idea and somehow makes it better? I can assure you that it does not.As for the drama itself , the story sounds like it was written by a five year old. Very cliche , even more so than most dramas. The only good thing about this drama is Luo Yunxi . I will say of you are a fan of him, the drama is worth watching solely for him even though they don't use his real voice, which is a huge disappointment. His character is really cute and I found him very interesting... it's just too bad the storyline didn't do much to support him. As for the rest of the drama, acting is not great from anyone else but in their defense there's only so much an actor can do with such a poor, tacky script. The lead girls acting is absolutely terrible though. Very cringey. Her emotional scenes are very fake and difficult to watch. In my opinion she doesn't level up with Luo Yunxi in any way . He deserved better than this mess.

Insensitive on so many levels
While I thought the overall story was decent, the actors are good and it is nice to see a gay couple get a happier ending for once, I found the whole plotline to be very problematic .
Leave it to Korea to demonize an entire demographic of people for a disability. So many references throughout the entire story of the monos being murderers or kidnappers , doing terrible things simply for the sole fact they have a disability . I find this completely insensitive. It was completely unnecessary to give Yeonwoo thoughts of kidnapping Yoohan when Yoohan was more than willing to be close to him. That was only done to add more depth to the supposed fact that monos can't be trusted and no one should get close to them. They should just live isolated lives. And of course the main couple gets a happy ending only because it turns out that Yoohan is disabled too. Do better Korea.
The sad thing is, this almost could have been an amazing movie. There was some serious potential here for this story without all the shaming of disabled people. It's sad that the fact that Yeonwoo attempts suicide over all this is almost played off as normal.
On top of that, they made such an issue about his mom's disappearance but then leave it hanging completely in the end . Why bother throwing it in if you're not going to bother even addressing it again or brining any kind of closure?
I also think it's a bit messed up they have to incorporate mental and physical illness into one of the few queer love stories available in Korea . Seems a bit controversial to me but I'm not going to get into that too.

Stop with the voice overs!
I stopped watching this one 20 min into the first episode when I realized they use voice dubs. I find it incredibly tacky, not to mention an insult to the actors that they don't use their actual voices. If I want to see a particular actor, I want to hear their actual voice! Do they think we just won't notice that it's not their voice? It's incredibly obvious and it looks bad. It ruins the drama for me. I love Luo Yunxi's work but I refuse to watch any drama that doesn't use the actual actor's voice. Was this review helpful to you?
