It's a very heavy drama, with lots of subterfuge intrigues and power plays made in a very cold but still realistic korean upper class scenario.
It kept me in suspance from the beginning to the end.
It also made me cry a lot.
It has great actors, awesome locations and one of the best plot wists I ever seen in a drama.

The story itself it's absurd but at the same time is adorable, moving and strong.
I recommend to watch it with good subtitles because many of the most funny moments contents slang and typical behaviors of the korean suburbs.
The cast is awesome, they're funny and very realistic.
...
Well, if this kind of absurd situation would really happen in real life, I think the whole family atmosphere would have been exactly like this lol

This was promoted as one of the best movies of the season.
If you have high expectations, you should stop here.
If you're looking for hot men in swimsuit then, you should go on.
I approve that too but, it's not enough to make me like the whole movie.

The characters are plain and unrealistic even if all the cast did their best. In some shots, it looked like the actors were holding back just to fit the role.
The growing relationship between the swimming group members it's what I enjoyed the most, also with the wonderful and funny acting of Seo In Guk.
As for the main plot.... meh. It was so predictable. I think everyone can say what will happen right after the first 10 minutes. But, I must say all the shots were well planned and I also liked the locations very much.
The "band" part was a bit unnecessary tho. I think they could have found a more interesting way to insert the 3rd main character, which lacked of personality and credibility compared to all the others (even the supporting ones) which showed a strong motivation and (somehow) intense feelings.

Feeling moody? Need to cry?
Great. This is the drama perfect for you. So, grab your tissue box and start to watch it. With an open mind.
Also possibly when you'll reach the 13th-15th episode, I recommend you to get some ice-cream, so you can suppress your feelings.

Anyway, even if I felt some missing points in the storytelling, I loved the cast and the production crew. Good plot and ta major plot twis made this one of the dramas I surely won't forget.

The story is funny, the actors are good but...NO.
I'm italian and that's not pasta.
No. NO NO.
I oppose myself with all my strength to all the pronunciations and how the dishes looked... it just gave me goosebumps.
I haven't read the manga but, the one in the drama is not an italian restaurant. It's how normal japanese people cooks italian food in their home, it shows how much japanese strereotypes italian cusine.
Only Kitamura Kazuki gave a bit of realism tho the restaurant crew.

How many times did I watch this movie already?
I will never get tired of it.

I really appreciated all the details, the pastries, the costumes, the locations and how the actors develops the characters' inner feelings is simply awesome. Perfect storytelling with a little noir touch that makes everything more interesting.
Even if it might miss some points from the manga, as a movie it narrates the events simply and smoothly, giving to everyone the possibility to understand everything.

This movie explains in a very intense way how the whole otaku world is seen (and felt) in japan.
It has some major lacks in the storytelling tho. It alternates extremely slow, peaceful events to cruel, terrible and somehow disgusting events which happens so fast that you won't understand anything if you don't watch it at least 3 times.

They had an amazing cast, despite their young age.
We have a rising Miura Haryma, a powerful Yamada Yu, an always wonderful Narimia Hiroki and great Arakawa Yoshiyoshi (who I feel is still very underestimated).

This movie may not suit most of the people taste because of its cruel scenarios but if you want to make a step into understanding the real otaku world, well this is a must-to-see.

I also recommend to not eat anything during this movie. It might sound random but... really, snacking won't help.

I LOVE Matsuda Shota in comic movies!
His usual serious look makes his role even more hilarious.
The other characters are not so well exposed, I would have liked a little more description of the surrounding world. Even extending Tanaka's monologues would have been fine.

Probably you'll find this movie a bit silly but, if you watch it with a bit more attention, you'll clearly see the positive message it sends.

Also the great finale just blew me away.

Fuzzy, chaotic and with a crazy atmosphere.
Don't look for hidden meanings. It's everything there, on the screen as simple as it is. And, this time I will refrain myself from saying something about the "costumes". They're all Johnny's, and this explains it all.

After so many years, it still keeps me company during rainy days.

I was hoping for a funny and light drama but, all I got was clique in a weird scenario. If you have nothing better to do and want some ikemen, well, go for it.

To me, it was a bit boring and slow. I just kept hoping it would become better but, it just ended leaving me kind of emotionless.
Even if it had its pretty funny moments and Takei Emi is simply adorable, I still felt the whole situation unrealistic.
It sends a few pretty messages to the viewer but, it's just not at the same level of the other dramas aired during the same reason nor for the cast who gave plain interpretation even of the most interesting characters, nor for the script which was nothing more than clique.

Even if I enjoyed the funny sketches at the beginning of the episodes and loved the main male cast instantly, the whole story lacks in terms of appeal.
There are no major plot twists, just a few very predictable events exposed with masterly skills. Good job to the filming crew, not-so-good job to the scriptwriters.

Among all the school dramas that came out recently, in my opinion this is worth watching.
Despite it's a tiny bit predictable, it's full of highlights and also has some kind of suspance. Some situations are pretty absurd but, if a 35 y/o can go back to high school and attend normal classes, well, everything is possible.
All the cast is awesome and the characters are really impressive. Also scenarios and locations are really beautiful.

This is one of the WORST live action I ever seen.
I love all the actors, they had a GREAT WONDERFUL MAGNIFICENT cast and... I still can't understand how this movie could come out like this.
I'm a huge fan of the manga and I had the best expectations for this movie, especially with this cast list.
I was so disappointed!
Yes, the filters are beautiful, they made a great job recreating all the characters style and image but... COME ON.
One of the most important things in Beck is MUSIC.
And they totally left it out in the storytelling.
I also watched it multiple times, trying to adjust my speakers and the headphones because I really thought it was MY fault.

Don't watch it, it will crash all of your dreams.
