Yes but no...but why not.
Ok it's low budget, we got it. I saw better end of studies projects. It seems to be shot with a smartphone and two ringlights. The sound is the worst ever heard (you can almost make it into a game: subbed? Not subbed? Do you hear the film crew behind?).The script was written on a corner of the table.
Do you want clichés ? You have it. The rich, somewhat rebellious hunk, the poor guy who succeeded through hard work. The mother who puts pressure. The nasty ex girlfriend really nasty. The best friend in love but ultimately too much ...
The editing is random.
Sometimes I was "WTF?" or "oh wait, really?". Sometimes I laughed (when it was not funny).
The acting is cringey (especially for supporting roles).
At least, the end is not tragic if not really happy (and we applaud this detail!).
BUT, curiously, despite all these faults, I enjoyed the series. I think it owes a lot to the two main players. They are cute, they have good chemistry and seemed to get along really well. They are doing well and we get attached to their character. There are some skinship too which is emphazised.
AND it's BL Chinese.
So you liked Addicted? Don't expect to see a replica. But we can salute the sincere effort of the whole team to have tried to produce something despite all the restrictions. I know they had a lot of problems producing this series so I want to support them.
Fighting, China! You can do it ! Produce a good BL.
Soon.
Perhaps.

High potential for something longer
I was not disappointed by this short film (40mn) by Adiamond Lee.The subject is dark and serious (prostitution, abuse) but we do not avoid the pitfall of pathos.
The good idea is to have focused only on the two main characters which allows to explore their personalities enough and don't waste time on secondary characters.
The character of Light is really interesting, we feel a lot of empathy for him. Shuo, the policeman is a little less explored but we manage to know enough about him to understand his actions (it would have been interesting to know more about his work and his missions, to give him a little more deepness).
The direction is impeccable and the very dark photography is well worked with muffled lights that give more darkness to the atmosphere. The two lead actors are good, all in sobriety in their acting.
Of course, in 40mn, it is difficult to do something very deep and the story may seem a bit fast but after all it is quite simple (just two people falling in love) and I think we are not too frustrated even if the story would have really deserved to be more in depth, especially with the themes addressed.
I recommend you to watch this short film which changes from the ordinary and will move you.

If you like puzzles
I understood that Korean BLs lacked sponsors and budgets and one can only encourage the efforts made in the last year or two. However, the lack of budget does not mean that you have to shoot scenes and edit them randomly and rely on the viewer's cerebral agility to piece together the story.
Ah, there is some cutting in Behind Cut. So much so that we waste a lot of energy trying to glue the pieces together and fill in the holes in the story (without thread or needle!).
Too bad because the beginning is clean and rather promising. The actors are rather beautiful and talented. The universe (fashion and couture) is rather original.
And then that's it.
What a pity....
At least, it's not a dead fish kiss (sigh).

Nice but...
It was a beautiful journey to follow Yuki and Akira. I love this kind of stories "slice of life" both sweet and painful.I specify that I read and reread the manga and necessarily I compared the two.
I really appreciated that they respect the original story. It was so soft, and real. It is the story of two people who love each other, who tear each other apart, who make choices, who find themselves ...
At the beginning, I was not very convinced by the performance of the two MLs but I found them later much better. However, I was not as touched as reading the manga. There was a good chemistry between Shirasu and Raiku but I missed an "je ne sais quoi" to melt me completely. But this is a very personal feeling.
I liked the pace of the production, like the passing of time in the series. I regretted that they do not show the last scenes of the manga which make all the beauty of the story and which make me cry sometimes (I confess) but I can understand the technical constraints that that implies.
The last episode was completely pleasing.
The OST was beautiful.
I really really appreciated the cameo of Wayne Song and Huang Juan Zhi. It was a very pleasant surprise.
In short, in the end, a very nice series, very well done, very well played even if it was not the roller-coaster of emotions that I expected (I repeat it is my feeling) but I really encourage you to look at it !

I don't have words...
Once upon a time there was a director with some good ideas who wanted to build something out of it. Unfortunately, he only had a big bulldozer to do this. What does it matter! He drove it happily!I don't really have the words to describe My Day. A mix of Disney series and B series. I don't know, I don't know anymore.
Just that I have never laughed so much in front of a BL, often at his exepense. I often wonder how on purpose the campy and the cringy were. There came a moment of no return in the nullity that it became good. I got hooked.
I could write pages and pages about the ackward moments, the non-logical sequences, the scenes out of nowhere, the failed scenes, the useless scenes, the microphones, the technicians visible ... So much.
BUT I also saw actors who had fun, incredible chemistry, some good moments, good characters, dogs, and rainbow and fireworks and escaping swimsuit and pink underwear ... It was also LGBTQ-lly uninhibited and refreshing.
My Day has his own world.
Perfectionist and cranky, refrain. If not, take a deep breath of glitters and go.
