One of the best if it's your taste. ✨

I am willing to gloss over the awkward transitions and the somewhat rushed plots when it came to fixing the "stuffs" it all felt like plot convenience. The overly used illusions were somewhat tiring to watch but they did well to explain the difference between each occurrence though it was to us viewers just ... Same. 🀑

When it comes to the usual criticism. I don't mind the quite whispering as a slow talker myself the slow talking didn't bother me Q.Q The overly used soundtracks were sometimes overwhelming but I quite like them so it's a pass. Well when it comes to the Female lead I was not annoyed nor displeased with her though some what frustrated with her passiveness in some scenes.

Point deduction for the visuals came from the πŸ¦β€πŸ”₯ fight sequence which had pretty inconsistent quality compared to the other fight sequences. It was end game it should have been the best. To anyone who says that the entire drama's CGI is lacking I have no words maybe I am easily satisfied and this is visually just normal (can you see the sarcasm 🐣)
Another point is the filter they used kept changing so by the end of the drama all flashbacks have different filters on. 😬

The low acting score is cut for the early episodes where baiju and ying lei were really animated. As the show went on it slowly shifting though. Furthermore out villain actor at end game was meh but maybe it's just his character being a meh character. Usually older actors I tend to praise as they tend to do better.

Finally I just want to say that. This drama is about:
Humans, demons, mortals, immortals , hot, cold, weak, strong, burdened and unburdened forming a bond each one different then the other. Each villain's story tells a tragic tale. Each episode draws the group of seemingly different individuals together. Forming a family and I love it with my dear heart. Surely gonna miss this one. I ain't asking for a second session cause the ending was enough for me. β€οΈβ€πŸ©ΉπŸ˜

Midnight Romance is Romancing!

Ok! Initially I came to watch this for the romace but the way they did it felt too artificial. (granted this is a drama but you get the point) 🐣

The somewhat rushed of a switch that happened when the FL started to like him with no prior delving into the process of her starting to see him as someone that she might want to have a romantic relationship with, bypassing her set image of him being just an (special) ex-student is one of the flaws.

She feels obligated to "look out for" And we actually never see that change of view till later on. From the get go I didn't like her way of keeping him within waters that she knows is safe. We could encounter this during the literal first plot point of the drama~ her making and trying to persuade him not to take on the academy job and she goes through drastic measures to achieve it. She does apologize later on and "give the diploma" To him But still, it feels too late for that change to happen.

The other character that got me into watching this drama was the tale of The education system related story. To see the FL navigate it with the ML but I was appalled to see that those themes completely get thrown to the back burner when the romace started. Don't get me wrong I love romace but in a mature themed(romance) drama like this it is hard to pull it off by doing just that without it feeling bland. All is not lost though as by the ending EPs that part is brought back however this time more as a plot mechanism than anything else.

Now for the good.
Though the romance felt rushed the chemistry of the main leads was there! I Couldnt stop smiling in eposodes where they might do something as simple as taking a late night stroll. The characters (leads) were not overly exaggerated. The drama doesn't directly slap you in the face with the age gap or keep reminding you of it. Instead it shows the difference through how the characters think and act. there were times where the ML and FL Disagree. The dialogues tell those differences in how each take the argument.
Not to mention the fact that the ML is actually not shown as someone who is just completely free spirited but to some extent riddled with similar ideas and thoughts similar to the FL.What makes him "young" Isn't his age but the ambition that is of a bloomed flower in spring while it contrasts to her more restricted rusted courage to do the same.

Some other charms
~ The lead couple relationship built on mutual trust and never letting go of it.
~They handle misunderstandings and disagreements by communication without frustrating each other and the viewer of seeing it happen again and again.
~ The side characters are not annoying and doesn't feel too animated.
~ The usual family opposing stuff is non existent though they do show some what of a disagreement but is respectful to the FL.
~ As with other dramas from this director, this drama is also visually calming and pretty. + good Ost
~adorable side couple though they don't get much screen time.
~Filled with characters that tell you how strong Loyalty and morale can be.

All in all I love them ok! 😭😭😭❀

Bitterly perfect~✨

✨9.5/10

So after much thought I think this drama is actually pretty great. It started of normal with pretty light hearted shades but midway through changed into a melodrama. I think I was too focused on the leads but the other love interests had their own stories too. I was afraid the world building would be unsatisfactory cause these short netflix dramas tend to focus solely on the main characters and doesn't bother expanding with different characters and relationships.but it was not the case here.Visualy it is stunning.the actors portrayed the characters well and got me rooting for them.

FL is a fallen star that collided with a university student. For once a character like her was believable. She found peace with him.

ML? He's a warm and caring guy. Though oblivious to what romance is about he was perfect. He actively tried to be there for her made her have a sense of belonging.

From cinematography, acting, story and the OSt everything wrepped up well in a bow. They really did well in showcasing the concept of bitterd romance.
This kept me worried and wanting to see how the plot progresses so it means it's a good drama.

My thoughts on the ending:

Well there seem to be a pretty heated argument about the open ending.
(I respect your opinion. here I'll state mine.)

So I thought it was going to be a pretty bad open ending but IMO it wasn't that bad.
Sure the leads are not dating but at least they still like each other? They like each other but decided to wait for the right time for love instead to focus on their dreams and careers.
That's what I interpreted from the ending.

(I think it's not that bad if they do decide to do a s2 that is. But the problem is that it is highly unlikely.)

In full honesty this drama was a drama that is completely out of my zone. A melodrama?I would never watch it. I was so frustrated during the last half of the drama but that frustration turned in to admiration in the end for how good the writers and actors did to sell us the concept of a bittersweet romance. Though I was emotionally exhausted at the end.

Anyways I'll post enough GIFS about this on feeds so it means I love it.lol

there's something about the rain.

keeping this short

~ the FL sometimes made me frustrated by her decisions and made it feel like she didn't consider his point of view some times.
~ the FL's moms switch up was unexpected and just hard to watch sometimes.
~the drama pushed forth it's style which was soothing and just pleasing for the viewer.
~the depiction of the relationship was somewhat realistic and I enjoyed the chemistry between the leads
~last ep felt rushed and could have been done better.
~ the constant show of mutual trust between the leads in the relationship was refreshing.

I initially dropped this. it was when I started watching dramas. at that time I never saw the beauty of this project and felt boring. but now I have come to appreciate it. I guess I wouldn't have picked this up if it weren't for "The Midnight Romance in Hagwon" that reminded me of it too. 🐣

An Prologue nothing more.

Firstly the drama felt slow. Almost like nothing much happened for some reason.

Furthermore for some reason the threat felt small in terms of scale.. maybe it's because we didn't see how it would affect the people If the bad side did win? But from start to finish we never had a moment where it felt huh they might actually loose this fight.

The Reveal of what happened to ML that led up to the present situation felt too slow to some extent.

The plot felt the same. ML just get in to a similar situation but this time he a lil dumb. 🀷

ML *in a nutshell in both seasons* :
Get in a position where he has to do something to save himself from an unfair situation > Finds that the FL is involved in it. > Mistake her for an enemy > find out she is fine and decide to worked with her.

FL *in a nutshell in both seasons* :
Gets involved with him cause he badges in > tries to avoid him and warn him > Turn down the deal to worke together > accepts the offer with a rule that is not to ask her personal questions.

Heck even some dialogues feel like de ja vu. 🐣

This just feels like a prologue to a story that is about to begin.
The FL stays the same through out the drama (If not a little more depressed?)
The ML lost memories gets them back like a switch flip.πŸ™ƒ

The entire drama took place cause that one "friend" you let down wanted revenge.

The acting was good. The visual direction they took for this looks so pretty too. Except for some fighting sequences that were for some reason shot under darkness, I get that they wanna make CGI look better by doing it in low light but still.. ಠ_ಠ

The newly introduced characters were fun I guess. (Or more like the same people....)

One nitpick is the guy that was the the grandson of the grandma being never built up in a plot sense and throwing him in last minute decision. It would have been better if us as viewers could at least see the ML interacting with him before. He just felt like a random character to increase the stacks for the last decision. But than again he will show up for the next season.. maybe they will flesh out his character better then.

hmmmm..... Fluff

A strong plotted one from Miles Wei's endless CEO dramas πŸ˜‚. The marriage out of convince trope done. No unnecessary misunderstandings a mature relationship that solves the misunderstandings pretty quickly. The chemistry is there too as a bonus. The leading characters are easy to root for.

the side couple was the highlight for me though, the enemy's to lovers trope done right!!! I loved to see how the writers changed the characters to care for and be more considerate of each other.

the other side couple, two people meeting again after breaking up in the past rediscovering love and continuing toward the future. though their relationship did become frustrating during the last eps.

the fundamental problem is how the leads made a pact to not interfere each other in work matters or use each other yet fail to do it. Sure the decision to leave the leading female leads to take on the their careers with no change made by the leading male leads was amazing to see.

A surface level fluff in fused romance. I kinda like how they didn't make to as that the FL always loved him or some random scene to insinuate that she had a unknown feeling towards him (*coughs * Serendipity's Embrace* 🐣)

Where is the depth that the title hints to?

A good drama which run on the clichΓ¨ trope of ML running to abroad and breaking up but gone wrong πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Cause The (Actual ML) another dude shows up to give her the love she deserves or rather give her hope for a romance. Before the ML(Ex) could come finish the angst part of the drama episodes after.

I initially went in thinking this would delve into a grander theme but it was to put it simply shallow. Not to say that it doesn't have depth but I wanted to see him struggle through more emotions I wanted to see her be more torn to some extent (not to say give the jerk Ex a chance). 🐣

I loved the side couple's relationship dynamic it gave birth to many hilarious moments. The Main couple was enjoyable to watch too.

Simple.

light with some underlying serious tones mashed with adorable characters and beautifully yet somewhat lackey writing that leaves more to be desired. I feel like the two themes clashed too much with no middle ground. Nam Gyu Ri's role as the FL was done well to what she was given. ( would not have imagined her to be from Kairos)

all in all a light watch to binge without much thought. 🐣

the rational meet emotional.

The ML and his sister's dynamic was a well written. How she is torn between the company and him is an amazing well written plot point. How these two grew to trust each other was heart warming to see. She always go back and forth from being protective of him to being protective of the goal of the organisation.

The 2ML well.. he was redeemable too in the end. He had growth he realised that it is not his to make a decision on the FL's life and kinda turned around for me.

The 2FL... I never disliked her through out the watch. It was more like seeing someone learning to understand love and learn that love is worth fighting for and not something to have in a convenient
Way. And with her she is not torn between the ML and the company she never was she was rational and business minded and admitted in directly that for the ML she is less special than the FL.

The squad? They were your one dimensional character line up but eh they were great fun to watch and how they switch up when they are serious is so cool.Only the manager dude got a lil depth and it's because he falls for the 2FL in the end.

The ML? He's whipped for the FL yet doesn't neglect his dream to go fast for the FL. He maybe childish but he's the lil push the FL need. He slowly by the last half started to mature and think about her opinions. He to me was the only character that didn't change much. Same passion. Same Chen mobai.
"Drive the car till it fly"

The FL? She slowly came out of her shell. It was good to see someone change for the better and smile a lil more. She is smart yet feel insecure about her abilities and the ML helped her navigate through it and "become her ocean" he was on the run to prove her right. The only person he slows down for.
I love her and the ML's sis dynamic too!

overall a good watch. the childish guy falls for the mature engineer.
nobody is watching it though so I shall keep this to myself.

Body swapping trope done right!

I totally loved how this drama built the the plot with the aid of the main trope. (Body swapping) I feel like they didn't over do it to the point of annoyance. The swapping in a way allowed each (mostly male lead for some reason 😐)
Let go of their scars, heal and grow.

The male lead was unexpectedly not annoying, he had a strong spine though he's really slow when it comes to Man-ing up and admiting his feelings. ( cowardly? Nope it's room for growth and through out the drama we see the change.)
The female lead's character is really well done with maturity (mostly) and the way she handled problems was actually for once kinda good. Both characters have their goals and motives each is really cleared out.

The Leading actors/actress gave an amazing performance though sometimes it did feel a little animated like. Loved the subtle and the big changes that each showed when the swapping has taken place. (To the details like how their voice sounds)

The side characters? Supports? each actor portrayed it well even though the supporting characters felt one dimensional (sadly) during the first half, the last half of the drama added depth to the characters to some extant making them feel more prominent. I love the way each had their moment. Those that I Innitialy disliked ended up becoming characters that I didn't dislike- wise words of dawn 2024 🐣

With that said the ending before THE ending (10mins) was so unnecessarily done, like what?? And not to mention the explanation of the swapping just being said on a passing with no further elaboration. And the ark of the FL's doctor friend finding out about the swapping just built to lead to nothing. I was half expecting him to go full on villain πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Anyway just like many other c dramas this drama do become draggy during the middle portion. But is somewhat tolaratable. The pacing picks up too.

A passable fox romance.

- starting quarter: good interesting
-middle quarter: meh and meh only visuals and rendom fluff.
- later middle quarter : built some what of a momentum the twisted ark begins
- final quarter : peaked with the twist but fell short for an impactful ending.

the main plot of giving a tangible value or place holders to feelings felt really cringing at times
what do you mean the love seed?? what the heck it grows with what tears??? like what, they could have at least come up with analogies for those feelings.

besicly large tree powered by love balancing the relmns. And human Γ— spirit war stuff = bad!
All of the CPs are mirrors of the main leads story just with lil tweaks.

the cgi was one of the hopes of this drama and it kinda was inconsistent through out the run
they keep switching from high to low.

the cast? Are almost all leading actors and actresses they. their characters were bland and fixed to box little growth was seen and that did happen felt rushed.
