To My Star Season 2: Our Untold Stories

Excellent acting, too bad the script is a little iffy
I watched the series (not the movie), and I think overall this was good but has several problems. I would still recommend this to any BL enthusiast--better than season 1.First off, the best part of this was definitely the acting: actually excellent for all the characters. Round of applause honestly.
The worst part was the music production. Apart from a few moments, a lot of the audio cues felt so random and would end so abruptly. Some even felt inappropriate for the situation we were in.
Story was unfortunately a bit whatever. At first, things were so confusing until they revealed explanations and even then, the explanations do not satisfy of fill in all the blanks. I understand that the goal was to create complexity and depth to the characters beyond what season 1 offered while also covering backstory, but to be honest, the execution was lackluster. It left me feeling that the characters were too complicated to understand or relate to, and the emotions started feeling more unrealistic than anything.
Direction was fine though and so was the rest of the production.
I think this is worth watching.

Quirky but incredibly mediocre
This series was so painfully average/mediocre that the short episode length and occasional quirkiness were the only two things that kept me going.Production quality: nothing special but nothing terrible either. The music was one of the better parts, but it wasn't anything to think twice about either.
Acting: average or slightly below average at times for the main cast.
Story: quirky and cute, but that is all it has going. I think this is the only reason I would recommend this series. The plot felt so random and poorly paced; I could not for the life of me tell what the main characters were going to do next and not in a good way. The world they live is so far from reasonable or relatable that it is really hard to be immersed or be understanding a lot of the time. There weren't any "plot holes" per se and it wasn't completely unbearable, but I really can't point out much good either apart from it not being bad.
Maybe the movie's better? No clue; haven't seen it at the time of writing this. I will say that this series is for sure a bit overrated and overhyped, and I would not recommend to a BL enthusiast unless they have run out of better things to watch.

Cute and charming but held back by weird character design
I think this movie is overall ok and enjoyable with cute BL moments. My biggest problem is the story, namely the characters and how they are designed. The "actor" in this story is really unusual and so hard to understand with what was provided in this movie alone. He seems so unprofessional with his interaction with strangers that it is hard to imagine that is considered to be particularly famous in the world of the story. He also has the strangest interests for a person which is fine alone, but when he decides to reveal and involve someone he has met for what appears to be a short amount of time, it feels... out of place. So, both his initial design and development seem flawed to me with it feeling like there's considerable backstory I'm missing or scenes that are just being skipped. Maybe this is explained better in the series? No clue. Unfortunately, this involved one of the main characters, so it puts a big wrench in the romance when his personality is the supposed "charm" that brings them together.
With that said, I would still recommend this movie as it was enjoyable for a fellow BL enjoyer. I think if I was a bit more impartial toward BL, I would probably not recommend this to myself.

Makings of a masterpiece but failed to deliver/be executed properly
I loved this drama. I have not read the webcomic/novel but would still recommend it to any BL lover easily. I just think that it could've been so much better than it was for a number of reasons (below). The story itself was actually pretty good and innovative for what it offered, a classic school BL romance. I gave the score for story not because of the story itself as I think the events and such were really good in theory. I just believe the issue lies in how it was told. The pacing really throws you off, especially in the latter half. So many critical points in the plot and honestly just cool events get swept away by a rapid-fire of content that gives you no rest or time to process. Many (if not all) of the side/supporting characters were given no love whatsoever, for the most part it just felt like you could put anyone in place of some of the characters and the story would remain unchanged. Several intercharacter dynamics were left hard to grasp, and one of the main characters' personality literally flipped like a switch in such a strange way (I guess you could play this off of the game/system theme/gimmick of the story and its silly tendencies but idk).
Everything else was pretty top notch, and I wanted to give it a 9-10 so bad early on, but I can't with a clear conscience do that since the story carries to most weight to me so 8/10 felt closer to the truth. One thing that sets this series above most others is that the choice of actors and their acting were absolute perfection.
