I’m not a fan of the show, but the actors were great
I dropped this show twice before I just powered through it on my third try so I could feel like my review is legitimate. At least half of these actors are flat out sociopaths: they feel basically nothing for anybody outside of themselves and (sometimes) those they care about. The mental gymnastics to turn themselves into victims are astounding.
As far as the male lead is concerned: I’ve always been a big sucker for the stoic/angry male lead falls for the hardworking female but this guy has absolutely no redemption arc, he just stays shady. I feel bad for the FL over and over that she doesn’t get out of his web, she seems like she should be smart enough to.
The only redeeming points for this show are Hong Seol’s best friends because they are amazing, and the fact that many of the really bad people *eventually* do get them comeuppance in very satisfying ways.

10/10 stars across the board, my new favorite drama
This show made me ugly cry and smile like a goof from start to finish. The soundtrack is phenomenal, both the songs the characters sing and the other parts of the soundtrack.
The love story is touching and emotional, the actors have great chemistry. When they smile at each other you can’t help but feel good.
At several different points you see a regular kdrama trope forming, but for a regular drama watcher I was thrown for a loop more than once. It keeps you on your toes, especially when you think you have it figured out already.

I loved almost all of it
I will admit I can be pretty fast and loose with my ratings. I try to rate things based solely on my opinions and my interests, so sometimes I’m not as into really popular dramas because they just don’t hit my stride. This one, however, was really great. I loved the chemistry between all of the actors, the secondary couple was too adorable, and the FL wasn’t annoying.
That being said: I really did not like the ending and it kind of soured the thing for me. *SPOILERS**
I personally didn’t feel happy that, after 2 years of Sol Ah moving on without really moving on, Hong Jo comes back. How long can he possibly be back for? He said he was going to stay by her and keep her happy as a cat, but he comes back after years just to what…? Since there’s no other explanation my only conclusion is that he is in the same condition as before and he can’t stay human for long, so why? She’s going to be hanging on to the hope that he’ll come back forever now.

This is probably the first Cdrama where I haven’t wanted to skip scenes
I’m not going to lie and say this is the best drama. The story is one you’ve seen a thousand times and the acting is silly. But I will say this is a 10 in my book. The biggest thing for me is how lovable all of the side characters and love plots are. I often skip through scenes that are about love stories outside of the main (they’re often just too slow/boring for me when I’m more interested in the mains) but I adored watching them in this one. I found myself more invested in the side love stories at times than the main, which has never happened for me before.
Give it a try if you’re looking for something easy to digest. There are many heart-fluttering moments to make you smile.

I loved about 99% of it
This movie was so entertaining. There were a few moments that (in my opinion) were taken a bit too far.... but it was made light by the characters. I thought the music and casting was great. I loved it up until about 2 hours and 17 minutes.Spoilers:
I loved that the main character was flawed. I love that she wanted her revenge and could be a total bitch but was able to grow and come around. It made her so much more human, somebody I can relate to a lot more than the average Asian drama female lead.
I was actually shocked when we found out the male lead had been there the whole time, and it was so adorable and made me fall in love with him. He also wasn't afraid to pull his punches with her and I think that's a good thing, especially in a budding relationship that has long term potential.
But c'mon, that ending? Where she tells all of the women they need a man to be happy? For a second when she ran back to the mic to "clarify" and said that men aren't important but love is I thought they were gonna save it.... but no. I'm super disappointed that after all of that positive "single woman" energy she just goes on to tell them to find mr. perfect, and of course all of the women in the crowd instantly pull out there phones. Up until that point I was ready to give the movie a 10.

just serious enough to suck you in, but not serious enough to mess with your mood
I don’t know about the rest of you, but some of these shows can absolutely wreck me. There is more than one that, upon completion, has made me put the dramas down for a week or two because it made me so emotional. That being said, the reason I give this show a 10 is I feel it perfectly toes the line between serious and adorable.
The overarching serious plot is very engaging, you’ll end every episode craving answers, so it was a fascinatingly frustrating show to watch week to week.
The love story between the mains is adorable from start to finish, and the last few episodes were downright sickeningly sweet. The characters have their ups and downs, but there was never a ridiculous over-dramatic moment where you thought “after what you’ve been through together and how you know you both feel you’re really gonna pull that?!”. The love triangle was mild and heart wrenching, but never took attention away. The characters are all mature enough that the subplot never took away from the main story.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the family plots, the parents felt more immature than their children, but I still saw their necessity. The familial relationships really did cement some of the reasons the main characters acted the way they did, so even if I didn’t particularly enjoy the scenes I felt I came out of them learning something.
There have been very few shows I have endured watching week to week from start to finish, but this would probably be the one I recommend the most. I think if you get 2 episodes in and you’re still not enjoying it it may not be your cup of tea, but I would encourage everyone to give it a chance.
