I enjoyed it a lot!

UPDATED AT COMPLETION OF SHOW:What happened QQZJ? You were doing so well until the last few episodes when the writers decided to throw in typical drama tropes to up the drama for no damn reason. Urgh. And not to mention some questionable decision makings that kind of ruined A’Jun’s character development at the end. Also, WTH happened w/General Hang? Like, he went missing and his wife went looking for him. Then all of sudden, we see them ride back like nothing happened? I was so disappointed not to see their reunion. It should have been an emotional and romantic scene, but we missed out on it! I’m especially disappointed since General Hang had one of THE MOST ROMANTIC SCENES in Asian drama ever in Episode 30! #swoon. At least the bad guys didn’t get any redemption which was great to see. But still, the last few episodes knocked off a star for me. It is still a good show and I will definitely watch it again. REVIEW PRIOR TO COMPLETION OF THE SHOW:I usually do not review a show until I've completed it but I am making an exception for Qing Qing Zi Jin because I feel like it is not getting the love it deserves! I seldom give 10/10 ratings unless a show has kept me engaged throughout its run. With that said, I've only given 10/10 rating to Nirvana in Fire, Joy of Life, and Healer. This will be the 4th series to be rated a perfect 10! Let me explain why, but first...the person who wrote the synopsis for this show was probably drunk that day because it did not do the show justice. I originally bypassed this show because the cast looked so young and the description was so whack. Luckily, I caught a random clip on YouTube and was hooked immediately from the get-go. The Mountain Lord just oozed charisma and A'Jun was so adorable. Yes, she may come off as weak-willed because she didn't stand-up for herself at times, which I know a lot of folks found annoying. But ya'll didn't grow up as a second daughter of a concubine in a noble household in Ancient China under the shadow the perfect, legitimate eldest daughter and it shows! However, the mark of a good story is the growth of the characters, and now that I've reached episode 33, I can say that many of the characters had shown character growth. There is a main story thread involving Qui Chi but other plotlines sprinkled along the way kept the show interesting and did not take away from the main story line. The screenwriter was able to weave comedy and drama seamlessly without boring me. I think the relationships in this series were the true MVPs. I especially loved the bromance between Qui Chi & the General Hang, the loving and supportive friendship between A'Jun and Qing He (I don't think we get enough female friendships in dramas), the uncomplicated romance between the leads (I hate 3rd wheels, childhood sweethearts, and misunderstandings that lasts too long), the comradery between the classmates, the guidance from the professors, and the family bonds. I liked that even the villains in the show were not over the to

Stalkers are just not my thing

I couldn’t do it. I tried to give this series a try but the female lead was too annoying. She practically stalked the male lead from day one. She had no personality beyond being the “cutesy” type. I don’t care if you’re a man or women, stalking someone online or IRL is creepy and is never okay.
