An excellent portrayal of the beauty and struggles of queer love
This was just beautiful! ♥
Kudos to P'Wa, the screenwriter, and none other than the praiseworthy cast. The pacing and the amount of content in each episode were so incredible. You don't have to wait long for things to happen, they start happening from episode 1. This show takes you through the characters coming to terms with their sexuality, dealing with their emotions and internal struggles, and accepting who they are. It shows different kinds of parent-kid relationships, friendships, and romantic relationships. It does it all in the most realistic way even after being based on a sci-fi theme. The character development in this show is definitely noteworthy, especially Kawi's character. I loved how this show has very well-written characters; apart from the main ones, they gave life to the secondary characters. It gave us a strong female character and a wonderful best friend that we all wish for. This show has cuteness, fluff, sweetness, humor, sadness, life lessons, and everything in between led by a touch of reality. My favorite part is definitely the realistic representation of queerness and their internal and external everyday struggles in a society where their rights are not recognized. This show is very detail-oriented, well thought out, and seems almost as if everything is exactly how it's supposed to be.
Talking about GawinKrist, who would've thought they'd have such a natural and electric chemistry? I have followed their works separately for a while now but never thought they'd come together and give us something this amazing. Both have done justice to their characters. Krist has such an incredible emotional range, he can portray any form of emotion and go back and forth within a matter of seconds. He's an insanely cute 20-year-old baby one moment and a serious 30-year-old adult the very next. Kawi had the most character growth in the show and goes through all sorts of emotions and experiences and Krist portrayed every phase/aspect of that very well. Gawin gave us a beautiful portrayal of a very calm, patient, understanding, and optimistic -- the greenest flag character -- Pisaeng. It felt as if those characters were written with them in mind. Apart from them, all the secondary roles were portrayed very nicely, especially by Aye, Aou, and Title as Pear, Max, and Knot.
P.S. Having singer main leads is definitely a bonus! The OSTs are amazing!
P.S.S. For people hesitating to watch this because of Krist, I hope you'll give it a try with an open mind and see it for the character rather than the person himself. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't wanna miss out on something this good! :)
