Meen and Arm were the main reasons I made until the end.
So many cons so little time.
Aerospace Engineering is an incredibly difficult facility, so someone please tell me how Nhai managed not only to enter the facility but to have the grades to stay in it. Nhai must be some village’s idiot, the guy gets lost on the way to his OWN dorm room, groans like an 80 year old man when he gets up, and is more interested in eating than paying attention to what’s going on around him. The poor ducky keychain is on the floor more often than in Nhai’s possession.
Another huge pet peeve of mine is if you’re going to give the supporting characters a possible partner at least do it properly. There certainly was enough time, with so little actually occurring, 45 mins of very slow reactions and pauses between lines.
Only when Ai’s mother was spoken about or in the actual scene were there any real animation in the actors.
This had the ability to be a really good series, but the direction let it down, and possibly tightening up the script (Sorry Run, as a side note I really enjoyed you in Second Chance). It had a capable cast but they had so little to work with.
Now for the pros…, this shouldn’t take long. Which is what saved the rating from having fewer stars.
For a first outing Arm did an awesome job as Jaonan I’ve been waiting for years to see him and Porsche in a series together.
Excuse while I pause here to objectify Meen’s beautiful body, which was sadly abused every time the script called for him to pick Ping up. Being about the same height and weight made for an odd looking way to carry someone around,
The actress who portrayed Ai’s mother was my favourite actor because she the acme of the evil (step) mother complete with shrill scream, Without her this would have been like watching paint dry.
Minor things that I liked were: Nhai’s father was reaction to meeting Ai, asking him if he knew what he was getting into.
Brother Singh’s moral support and educating Nhai’s father. Ai’s patience while Nhai worked out if he could accept a relationship with a guy. The friend’s making sure of Ai’s intentions. Jida and Jom for making Nhai feel a bit jealous, and helped him work out he really did want Ai.
