Loved it
When dramas are slow, sensual, and depressing, then they're for me. I really like this show and the progression of the characters relationships and the story. Suzy was such a wonderful surprise, her portrayal of a downward spiraling kpop idol was amazing. If you think this show was slow and boring then thats valid.... I just so happen to prefer slow and boring. If this show is your vibe then I def recommend
Do you like Brahms?
Moonshine and Valentine (a bad c drama, beware)
Something in the Rain
Just Between Lovers
Encounter
Run On...............
All of these have that more mature vibe and slow progression. I'll rewatch a bad show of the build up is good. Mmmm so good.

Give it a try!
This was a big budget drama that borrowed a lot from Wuxia dramas and it's super obvious when you start watching. Personally I loved the effect and was immediately pulled into the story. The costumes, sets, effects and music were all on point and amazing. The amount of care and effort is so visible in every frame. This drama has a very typical underdog story that is also propped up by an underlying mystery which takes 30 episodes to fully unravel. I feel that the first season was fine for the most part and had a lot of satisfying “anime-like” moments that pulled you deeper and deeper into the world. The problems start becoming more apparent when you consider the romantic aspects of this show and it falls a little flat. The acting in this show is phenomenal from everyone involved when you set aside the romantic parts. In the first season I couldn’t help feel a distinct lack of chemistry from the leads… The secondary couples are not not even worth mentioning at all. The chemistry between the main couple does manage to improve in the second part due a major change in the depiction of the characters. Despite the fact that the romance manages to improve in the second part, the characters all get REALLY dumb. They also start saying and doing the dumbest stuff to move the plot along and some of the retcons (pertaining to reincarnation) were too much to be acceptable. All in all its a pretty good show but it wasn’t tied up well enough to be truly great, memorable or rewatchable. Was this review helpful to you?
It was completly fine. Yes. Just fine.
Its a well made drama with clear effort and care behind it. Its kinda funny to see that the longer the show goes on the more money they have to work with? It starts off very bare bones in terms of production value and that changes by the end.I thought the story and mystery was consistent. Some things interested me for a while but not for long.
The biggest ick for me is the romance between the leads. No chemistry whatsoever, I feel like this could be blamed on the "innocent" nature of the FL? I just could not get invested in their romance. ML was pretty stiff with her too so its not just her fault. The 2nd leads had much better scenes with better banter.
The ending was so anticlimactic and abupt I found my self asking... "Thats it? Really? Well ok I guess."
Yea it was alright, I'd never watch it again.

Final boss
I could not stand the leads in this show, personally I felt no chemistry, and I wasn't excited by their romance. I have seen a lot of reviews saying that there aren't any scenes that are a waste of time. This is completely untrue, I need someone to explain to me the purpose of the dice, knife, poetry fight from the 10th episode?I was fine until she met Ouyang and things got dumb.
I hated the cinematography in particular. So many cuts for a simple conversation and weird ugly handheld shots that follow. Shots should be deliberate and meaningful. Sometimes the editing was so overzealous that I would get physically angry. I once counted 15 cuts in the span of a minute. Why? What for? They were just standing around talking casually but its edited like a fights broke out.
I skipped to the end and her fiance was the final boss.... So boring. Never again.

Great Detective.
This drama has a great vibe, but some of the mysteries can be hit or miss. I love our detective and how he operates...It's a short but decent japanese mystery anthology with mature materials and genuinely Goosebumps inducing moments.
It's not the best but it's definitely worth rewatching some of the episodes for the stories.

Stop overracting.
This drama is fine and everyone needs to calm down. I think the drama deserves to be judged on its own merits rather than as an extension of Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. That was that and this is this.Despite that I do still think this drama is a bit of a mess, just not for the same reasons as most other people. The main problem is that this show has too many people in it. The audience is supposed to equally care about the ML and FL, the FL's family of 5, And the ML's coworkers and even the damn “villains” of the show. All of these people take up way too much time and steal the spotlight from the main couple.
I don't care what anyone says, I will scream my adoration for this couple from the rooftops. This is one of the best depictions of a loving, respectful and supportive relationship between two individuals who value each other deeply. They don't act that way because just because it tells them to or because the plot says its time. They do it because they get to know each other and develop genuine affection…
When the FL is having a hard time the ML helps her out because HE'S A NICE PERSON, not because he's attracted to her. She doesn't need to prove anything to him or have some special requirements for him to naturally want to care for her. The FL is a simple character who doesn't need to change much because she is already a good person as well. Her affection for the ML goes farther than his face, she loves his personality and pokes fun at it. Being good looking isn't enough to get her interested…
After all that I must say that I think Ryu Si-oh is one of the worst aspects of this drama. He is evil, regardless of his upbringing shaping him he chooses to create a drug that KILLS people.
(Honestly that doesn't even make sense, the whole point of drugs is to get people addicted so they become repeat customers, so I don't know why anyone would create a drug that kills the customer base UNLESS YOU'RE LITERALLY EVIL) Due to this I'm not hearing him or his shallow hastily put together backstory out. He would never have been interested in the FL if she weren't strong and he tried to kill the people she loved AND HER. Plus I objectively think the actor did not fit this role, he honestly was the odd one out in terms of acting ability… This was just the wrong role for this man period.
While I love the FL's mother and grandma, they and their issues/adventures get way too much focus and make the drama feel like it's dragging because you just can't bring yourself to care about what they're doing. Same goes for the FL's Father and brother… This isn't a palace drama, there is no need for more than like 6-7 MAIN characters.
This story is too messy and needs to get itself together. It wasn't the worst drama of 2023 like many are saying. Extra point for the cameo cuz they did not have to spend the money to do that, but they did.
