Interesting idea, bad execution

Just watched lady and the gentleman, quit after ep 30, the show was really good in the beginning. ep 15 and down or around that area but once I reached ep 23 I was starting to get irritated with the show but I am not reviewing the show here because as awful as it is, I think the actors did good to a certain degree, might be biased to a certain degree but I just wanted to say Dan Dan was certainly one of my favorite characters just poorly written after a certain point, plus, the moment I saw her smile I was like "Damn, she is pretty but she will probably cry a lot." And low and behold I was not wrong basically after 20+ hours of watching the show I was like nah they shouldn't be together not because of all the outside voices telling them to be apart but simply because they are GROWN adults yet other people hold such power over their decisions the amount of pain they went through is just ridiculous honestly, at some point I'd like to think that any sane person would stand up and be like "Oi, come on now! Why does everyone feel the need to butt in? Keep your noses to yourselves!" Parents are one thing but toxic behavior is toxic behavior, they all kept hurting each other all the characters were in a race to hurt the others more and more, eventually that was what the show was about.

Don't get me wrong I don't have any malice towards the actors but the story itself and how it was written and displayed for the viewer to consume was just...for lack of a better word: BAD, I have personally decided to only watched KDramas with 16 episodes, no more and no less(maybe 25 episodes but that's the absolute limit) because once the story starts dragging on the plot falls apart because they have to now create more weird and unrealistic situations, just because the characters are saying and pointing out that they only see these things in movies and on TV does not give the writers the right to blatantly throw it in our faces multiple times , do you have any idea how many times I thought "YES! Finally, Dan and Lee are going strong!" And then they fall through because of peer pressure at first I assumed no I am not Korean so I do not understand the circumstances and how their culture works because I am obviously NOT Korean so perhaps they will solve this in an amicable manner(And plausible) but I was proven wrong multiple times, in fact, I even started watching another drama after I watched the fourth break up? (I don't even know how many times they broke up BECAUSE EVERYONE WAS DOING IT! It was a break up bargain sale!) Not sure but I know it was in Ep 30 then I came across a 16 episode Kdrama that did literally every SINGLE thing right so misunderstanding the culture was clearly not why I wasn't enjoying it,.

I have watched enough Kdramas to quell my own worry about my idea that I misunderstand Korean social cues like any other nations social cues but no it's almost like most of the characters created the mental block on their own and the adults who disagreed felt like they were put there to justify the reason why Dan and Lee were worried about revealing their relationship, I spent every night watching it hoping that it would work out but...I am currently typing on my second monitor while staring at my main monitor on EP 39 after I skipped three episodes .

Geez, I said it wouldn't be a review of the show but I couldn't stop myself from ranting about it! Because it HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL! Personally Chairman Lee himself is pretty good looking for his age plus he has more than enough money to not worry about another child and Dan Dan's smile was captivating plus her innocence made me like her even more because her love felt pure which is why it sucked that her heart kept breaking every third episode, the show became more of a chore to watch which is why I am considering just skipping to the end and reading recaps of the episodes. I just feel like there was so much wasted potential, honestly there are LOT of parts in the show I had problems with but I think the actors did fine because I most certainly do not understand Korean but the actors didn't make me feel like damn that's some bad acting, no just bad writing because I will say Lee Se Ryeon was probably the cutest character around and not just because of her appearance simply because of her character she was adorable chasing after Park Dae Beom with such earnestness, the show might have been better off focusing on their love because the main love was all over the place if those characters were actual people (I mean their characters not the actors) they would honestly be living in hell. I think I have ranted enough even though I could break down every single thing that could have been done differently with all the relationships but I just won't because who wants to read a novel am I right? (I'm kidding by the way I am not that mean haha)

Regardless I have written a semi-poorly constructed review so I will probably post this on the actual shows review section, it's basically 4am cut me some slack I'm tired!

That was my ted talk thanks for reading.
