Frustrating Female Lead and Unlimited Plot holes

All of us are dead can be said as a high budget series with beautiful shots and gory details and props, but for me that was the only good thing about the series. Well, I can also add that most of the actors are really good too especially the veterans than we mostly recognized immediately in episode 1. It is enjoyable to watch in the sense that we can see that the production team did spend a lot of money for this series, the camera angles, the blood and the realistic entrails was fascinating to watch but that was all for me. The actors acting was wasted by the story line, all of the lead actors did tried their best to deliver their characters well and this is the problem, the female lead become frustratingly useless and stupid and all throughout the series I was exclaiming to my sister that she needs to get her priorities straight. I mean how stupid can you get if she keeps on whining about her crush instead of prioritizing her own life to survive and then telling your oldest friend that everyone that you hold dear in your life is either a zombie or missing ( girl best friend and crush) so she didn’t want to live anymore. She needed to be reminded about her father who might be worried and doing all that he can do to save her before she realize that she still has someone waiting for her to live. Aside from that she was useless and weak compare to her other classmates and there are so many side story that in the end wasn’t particularly necessary to have.

There is also a lot of plot holes that was so funny to watch that my sister and I keep asking each other if we have miss something because that wasn’t possible to happen. One of those is that magic towel that seems to materialized in the roof top, where could have they gotten that one when they have nothing on them when they were running towards the roof top and the inconsistencies of the “Hambies” power. The difference between Gwi nam, Eun Ji and Nam ra’s abilities were so unfair and I know they are zombies but Gwi nam keeps on reviving everytime when everyone else just die after a major blow to their bodies. There is also the fact that it wasn’t establish what sets them apart from the other zombies, I refused to believe that the will of the father and mother of the male lead and female lead isn’t as strong as the will of Gwi nam to get revenge on Cheong san. Overall, if you just want a good ol’ gory horror film with a lot of meaningless deaths and stupid decision this can be a good series to watch if you have nothing to watch.

At first I was hesitant to watch it, as I have seen the trailer a lot of times even if the clips were funny I have never had the interest to watch it. It wasn’t because I find the story weird because I do watch even the weirdest plot If I’m interested with, but it’s because of my prejudice with anything that has robots and romance tags on it. For some weird reasons I always associate these things to the movie The Bicentennial Man, and it always feels that I am going for the worst tear jerker sessions because of it. I was wrong about this drama. The whole plot was so amazing, it has the right amount of drama, comedy and romance on it and the I’ve started to love all of the characters on it.

I even sympathize with Yoo Cheol and Ri El’s character, that I have never hated their characters. I also love the fact that they didn’t lose the character of A Ji 3, because she’s only a robot and Ji A is really the focus of the drama. The writers gave A Ji 3 a perfect character closing scene. I have started to watch it because I have a drought of dramas to watch and I have never regret watching it. It is a highly recommended drama if you want something light and fluffy with the right amount of drama.

Conflicted

It started lightly with enough twist and turns to make you totally hooked up with the story. First couple of episodes made me want to know who is Noh Ha nee’s father really badly and the character of Oh Dae o is really entertaining along with all the characters but to be honest I only got interested with this drama because of Song Ji hyo and she become my least favorite character. It isn’t about her acting but some of her character’s action or decisions is somehow questionable for me. I think Noh Ae jong’s character makes things more complicated in her life that the story becomes draggy in later episodes. At the same time I appreaciate Noh Ae Jong strong personality not to give up on her problems that is why I am conflicted with this drama. The story is so messy at the end and I feel like it was rushed at the end because of too many fillers in the last 6 episodes that suddenly they wrapped it up just like that.

Story:
The story was average with the typical death toll of characters for it’s genre (I mean it is a historical drama from Joseon Era, of course there’s a 100 % chance of people who will die from it. You’ll just have to guess who will survive). It isn’t as heavy as Scarlet Heart which is so depressing with the way most of the characters die and it isn’t like Hwarang that they had choose to killed two of the characters with the most impact and just drop a flashback scene every now and then why that character is important ( e.g. Lee Kwang Soo). It is fluffy and light as Love in the Moonlight until they killed someone. It is a good fix for a drama slump until you found a new drama to watch.

Acting/Cast:
As my title says, the drama is for D.O. Fans and if you are like me who only know D.O as a basic knowledge in kpop, you will love his acting here. It is amusing and funny how he plays the Crown Prince who has amnesia. I know that he is a good actor because I saw him played the role of a psychopath in I remember you and I admire how he played that role as he does look like a serial killer with the way he smiled there, it’s a good thing I saw him act in a different role and that is why he now become my bias in EXO. Nam Ji hyun is a good actress too, as well as the second lead, the older brother and the crowned princess. The supporting actors are on point also and gives that fun feeling that will give you false hope that the drama will not kill anyone except for those charcaters in the beginning.

Music:
I don’t think there is any of those in these drama or I accidentally might paid enough attention on it. (But there should be right? I mean is there a drama that doesn’t have OST in it?).

Rewatch Value:
Good to watch again if there is nothing new you want to watch.

Overall:
It is predictable that you can even guess who is going to die, but still enjoyable to watch.

Friendship Goals

One of the best rom-com series I have watched this year. All of the characters are played well and the story is so engrossing because it was funny, relatable, romantic with that slight squeeze of drama at the end.

Story:
It was light and entertaining story and I do focused more on the friendship of Ying Ying and Noina. To be honest I’m slightly jealous of Noina, I wish I have a friend like Ying Ying. It was funny to watch the crazy things they did to stop Korn and Wisa’s wedding. Although, it frustrates me a little because Noina can be a little self-centered, Korn is too nice and Ying Ying is too much self sacrificial for Noina, but overall they can be relatable once you understand their mentality.

Acting/ Cast:
I initially watch this because of Baifern, as she is one of my favorite Thai actress but I salute the whole cast for their acting. Mild can be considered as overacting but I think it is just Noina overall character. I do love to hate Wisa’s character, she nailed the part. Both Korn and Pat are also good too and the whole cast played their roles so well, from Pang, to Paper and their parents.

Music:
I think the only song that marked the show is the opening song and Ying Ying’s favorite song.

Overall:
If you want something light and funny to watch with a nice progression of characters this will be a nice series to binge watch.

I don’t know what went wrong with this drama for me. I did like the story but I cannot pin point why I fast forwarded a lot of scenes and almost dropped the drama. It is after all my first lakorn so maybe I was expecting that it would be like kdrama or cdrama or even jdrama. I was a little disappointed on how the drama was executed, I mean I really love the plot on how a single instance in life can make a girl hide her face in a box but it’s a little bit disconcerting that she managed to overcome it just like that. I wasn’t a sadist or anything but I find it really weird as I have a high expectation on this drama. Anyway, maybe it’s just me so if anyone can get passed episode 3 and still like it then it was worth a shot.

I actually watched this series last 2013 and currently re-watching it again as I’m in drama slump currently. I was so addicted to it when I first saw it and this is like my 3 rd time to re-watch it. Until now it holds a very special place in my heart because this is one of those rare dramas that I have watch out of boredom and without expectations but ended up loving it. When I first watch it I don’t have any idea who were the actors, although I like kpop I was more on YG artists and I don’t know who Kim Soo hyun is, or Miss A or 2PM. The first episode was okay but I was on the verge of dropping it I’ve got no idea where it is going. Even if it was explained on the summary and the first episode the characters were sort of something I wouldn’t like, I decided that if I wouldn’t like it until episode 2 then that’s the end of it. The problem was, even if I wanted to dropped it I’ve become curious on what will it become on the next episode, the last thing I know was I was hooked with it.

Story: 9.5 stars
Might be too high for other people but I have love it. The story was something that will make you curious until the end. The character developments were a little unrealistic because of the pace but it was lovable to the point that you’ll start to love them and understand them. The plot twist or is it really a twist? Got me so confused. I wasn’t expecting who GH will end up with, I don’t even know who was the Second Lead between the two of them.

Acting/Cast: 9.0 stars
As I have said I don’t know them when I’ve started but because of it I become a fan of Miss A and to the extent of JYPE. Kim Soo hyun on his early days was a gem, as well as Suzy to think that it was one of her drama. The rest of the cast doesn’t need anymore explanation they all did their best on it just the milky couple.

Music: 9.5 stars
I have downloaded all of the songs even the cover ones. No need for explanation.

Rewatch value: well 3 x and still counting should suffice that.

Overall : The drama was over all fantastic if you want something light and about school life. The title explains already the plot and it was satisfying to watch. Don’t wish for a season 2 because they do have it but they murdered the story, so just end it with season 1.

Dissapointing

With good k-dramas in netflix along side with this drama, I was dissapointed that I have picked this one up. I purposely didn’t read any reviews before watching this drama because it usually influence my watching experience but after 4 episodes I started to question myself if it is worth the time to continue it. At first, the only reason I decided to give it a chance is because of JIW, the rest of the cast was unfamiliar for me and I just realize later on that the FL is a former member of KARA. Usually, I can watch drama even if there is only one actor I am familiar with even if it’s bad just as long as it has redeeming value, whether it is a character, a story line or music. With this drama I do like the music, I like the character of the SL and I also wanted to try a drama with BL on it but boy it is a big mistake. I have never watched any BL drama but I feel offended with the way the lead characters intoduce LGBTQ here and how the story progress. I feel uneasy watching the first 2 episodes and continue watching it with a lot of skips while thinking why did I choose this drama when I know there is a lot of BL drama that can properly introduce me to the genre. The FL is frustratingly naive, she has no motivation or plan to change her status within her company aside from her initial outburst. It is unrealistic that she have not try to use situations to her advantage and the scene with the homophobes was too much. She thought of the idea to produce the show but she was later seen explaining that she has no intention to side in any sexual orientation. I thought the purpose of the show is to show that the gay community is not different from straight people? Isn’t it considered that you are supporting the LGTBQ community so that people accept them? Actually that was my limit, that scene shows that there is no reason to continue that show as I got confuse what is the reason of the show. The only redeeming quality of the drama is suprisingly not JIW but the second lead. I like that he was not potray as a typical homo with ‘girly attitude’ or the typical closet gay that struggle to hide his mannerism with bravado.
