An Insight Into The Mind of the Hopeless
This is not a wonderful romance nor a drama that tempts you with the glimmer of a happy ending.
This is a thought provoking piece on those who live with pain under the surface and how society deals with it. It follows a girl who is heavily abused at home and at school, thus making her attempt to take her life. Enter the ML who later tells the FL that he doesn't have the courage to take his own life. He professes to being her stalker and steals her away from her suicide attempt and life. This leads to a series of events in which she learns what being cared for is like, and by someone who society would tell her to run away from. (I'm not promoting kidnapping or stalking, but the circumstances are quite sad.)
Sachirro no One Room is by no means a light hearted series. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has heavy triggers or someone who tends to stay away from gloomy watches. There really isn't anything in here to lighten up the mood. This drama addresses suicide, mental trauma, familial abuse, bullying, and sexual abuse. It is a somber tale of someone who is abused by everyone who is supposed to take care of her, and a man who has nothing to live for, but needs to find something to die for. It was insightful in a way, but incredibly sad.
The acting is done decently well, and the series is quite short so there is a lot packed into each episode. I definitely hated all the people who abused Sachii. The girl had some major trauma. The music didn't make much of an impact, this is very content driven. I will say, I am unlikely to ever forget this drama, but it is unlikely I would watch again.
All in all, I'm not sure I could recommend this, but I think it's worth the watch if you're looking for something short with serious content. Just don't go into this expecting a happy ending.
