Left Breathless

Okay so I NEVER write a review for a drama I'm still watching but I have to make an exception. GO AND WATCH THIS DRAMA IF YOU HAVEN'T!!! Who needs romance when you've got a fiery priest, a crazy woman, a rapper lady and a silly detective???? Nobody that's who. I just finished episode 26 and the last scene with Song Sac doing Muay Thai on the bad guys gave me life ahhhh, It's the reason I'm writing this review.

STORY: Let me start by giving the writers a standing ovation. The story is genius, yes It takes sometime to get to the synopsis but even the build up to it is amazing, not a single moment of boredom! I dare you to skip lol. I don't know but I - just like a lot of the other viewers- think this story has to be referencing the Burning sun issue. There's a lot of similarities and even if it has nothing to do with it, let me say kudos to the team for bringing this issue into light. Also that one scene where they referenced Reply 1988 with Ryong and the detective really had me rolling lol.

ACTING: WOW! Could Kim Nam Gil get any finer? He manages to draw you into his emotions, you start believing that everything is real. Honey Lee also, I've loved her since I watched Rebel and even if her character was sooooo infuriating at first, you managed to crack up whenever she did something silly. The whole cast is amazing. The villains/Antagonists make you hate them so much and the Heroes/ Protagonists make you love them.

MUSIC: Honestly the only OST I've really paid attention to is the one with the rap, that aside the two BTS songs that were briefly played - Fire and Idol - and the Honey bgm that plays for Honey. Still I rate the Music a 10 in general lol.

OVERALL: This is a must watch, yes I haven't finished watching but I know I'm not going to be changing my rating lol. I'll edit this after I'm done with the drama.

EDIT: Just finished it and I was right, this drama did not fail my expectations. Thank you to the team for bringing us this gem and like I said earlier, EVERYONE should watch this!

I rarely ever write reviews of shows but I gotta write for this one.
Why? Because I saw a lot of poor reviews and it made me postpone watching this.

Let's get down to business now shall we?
This is a show for the patient ones. Those that are not seeking steamy fast paced romance. Those that want all the healing they could get. This show is the definition of forgiveness and healing. It balances out every emotion you could think of. Anger, sadness, pain, happiness, loneliness and just gives you general warmth.

Is this Romance?: Hell Yes. There's tons of romance in this. Beware though, it is not a romantic drama. This is a slice of life.

Why should I watch this?: The scenery, the ost's, the production, the actors, the story, EVERYTHING.

To All those that said this show is slow, I won't say it's not, but what I will say is, the pacing is perfect for the gem it is.

SPOILERS:
While watching this show, when Hae Won found out about the truth behind her fathers death, I discovered a lot of people called her selfish for leaving and going back to Seoul and for disregarding her family's feelings.

I saw it as the opposite. I saw a woman who was hurt by her family. A woman who went through so much hurt that could have been avoided if only her family communicated. A woman who needed time to accept that her family was messed up. To me Hae Won's reaction was spot on. I would leave too. I would be mad at everyone including myself. I would need space to reevaluate everything just as she did. Remember she had a hard childhood because her mum was a "criminal." Something she didn't have to go through. That being said, I commend her for leaving to sort out her feelings.

As for Eun Seob....I've never been a Seo Kang Joon fan, until now. I fell in love with Eun Seob as a character and Seo Kang Joon depicted the character so beautifully. A hurt child who never expresses himself but always wants too.

As for the supporting characters, I ABSOLUTELY ADORED IM HUI AND JANG WU. They were real comic relief.

THE OSTS: Beautiful

OVERALL? Watch this and decide by yourself. Don't follow any one's review. I personally will be re-watching this sometime later.

STORY - Okay so ya'll are probably wondering why I gave the story a 7 and this is because it's everywhere. The plot doesn't make any sense. In the beginning the plot/story seemed to be going somewhere and then get to later episodes - I think from episode 25- and it starts going downhill. Yua'an starts getting annoying, the whole story just becomes a mess! Like what's with the time travel? So i'm currently at episode 41 and the story isn't getting anywhere, it just keeps going around in circles and i'm about to be done honestly! I get it's supposed to be an odyssey, fun and adventurous but please can we get somewhere now? At least with the romance since there isn't a lot of action. We only have 9 episodes to goooo????

ACTING - Okay so despite the story being all over, I won't lie, the acting is SUPERB. Wu Qian and ZYC are the real reasons i'm still watching this. Oh and Monk Tianshu. I love them. They managed to save this drama with their acting. I love how Yua'an is a badass at times and then a scaredy cat at other times. Seeing ZYC transformation did it for me. He's SO BEAUTIFUL! I'll stop ranting now.

MUSIC - AMAZING given that the only song i paid attention too is the opening track ???????????.

REWATCH - Probably not in the nearest future

OVERALL - If you're looking for something a little bit hilarious just to pass time with, this is probably it but if you're looking for something more on the Princess Agents, Eternal love (TMOPB) Paths, then this is most likely not for you...

Honestly, This drama is a must watch c-drama. Deng Lun is beautifully gorgeous. I can’t even. Him in black??? Yum! Okay so I don’t wanna put any spoilers so all I’m gonna say is you have to watch this. No C-drama watcher should pass this by. I gave the story 9.5 instead of a 10 cos there are parts that could’ve been done without. Especially towards the ending. There’s a lot that could’ve been cut out but regardless, it was a beautiful emotional ride. A happy ending too. I’m definitely going to be watching this again. ????

Wow!!! I’m going to start by praising the cast members especially Lee Sia (Eun Han Before the plastic surgery), Kim Jae Won and Lee Mi Sook. They did an amazing job in pulling you into the drama from the beginning. The other casts too did beautifully. Before I start the review, I’ll just say, if you’re looking for a romantic show that’ll give you butterflies at every moment, stop now because this isn’t the show for you. This drama is a very suspenseful drama. There’s no heart quivering romance here.
Now that thats said let’s begin the review:
This drama was very enjoyable to me, right from the beginning I was hooked. I loved her character in the beginning but after the plastic surgery it felt like she lost all her charisma. I had a love hate relationship with the female lead all through the drama. Sometimes she was smart and strong and other times she was impulsive and weak. The two male leads on the other hand were great. Manager Jung was all in all a piece of work. Her ending befitted her. My only big issue with this was the reason he kept beating her didn’t make any sense to me ??????????? and this story could’ve done without the clingy ex but Oh well, If you’re into Suspense, this is for you! All I can say All in All, I enjoyed this drama and I recommend this. Don’t let the low reviews get to you, watch the first two episodes and decide.

Need to scream about this season

Before I start I want to say I’m a BIG Heart Signal fan and i never thought I’d love another season as much as I did S5 but…THIS ONE WAS JUST TOP!

ahshsksidbdidnd I NEED SOMEWHERE TO SCREAM

Everything from the panelists to the guests to the relationships and friendships formed down to the music choices were just amazing. I particularly enjoyed this season’s panelists! THANK YOU RAINIE for your never ending energy!!! Loved that we got Ma Boqian on and Lulu Xu too. Meng Zi Yi remains a queen and loved seeing the old faces. OF COURSE we can’t forget OUR JERRY!!! Best set of panelists put together.

Spoilers below, be warned. (I’ll be speaking about my favourite guests/participants only).

- GUESTS

I’ll be fr, the moment I saw Hou Ge, I had a feeling he’d be one of my favourites on the season. With every episode, I hoped and prayed he’d find someone and leave the house happily.

William, Hou and Zeng Zeng had the most amazing, chaotic Bromance I’ve seen in Heart Signal and I lived for every moment of their friendship.

Momo, my best girl! God I cried SO DAMN MUCH for her. My heart ached and I so wanted to just jump in the screen and hug her and let her know how much of an amazing person she is. Her confession? MY GOD I BAWLED. My pillow is still wet as I type this. She’s so brave and I hope and pray she meets her ever giving Doraemon in future because she deserves the whole world.

YANG RUQING MY QUEEN!!! WOW what a WOMAN! She went for what she wanted and got it! Thank you for bringing in your bravery and moving Hou’s heart and for showing him he deserved to be firmly chosen!

- Favourite CP’s

Hou x Yang - I loved LOVED LOVED them. My favourite babies. Their confession got me crying happy tears! It was the best ugh. The way you could tell Hou grew so much after meeting Yang. I pray you guys last as long as possible, I’ll be here rooting for you!

Zeng x Lucky - Another CP I was rooting so hard for! Hoping yall love each other and keep each others innocence.

To all the other participants, y’all were great and made this journey amazing. I hope you guys find happiness in your lives and I hope the friendships you found in the house lasts.

Heart Signal 6 - Thank you for the ride, y’all had me bawling my eyes one moment and smiling like a maniac the next. Truly an incredible ride.

This show wouldn’t have been anything without the leads chemistry and popularity.

Like the title says, this show wouldn’t have been anything without the leads chemistry and popularity….and I’m saying this as a big fan of Yang Yang and Lu Si’s works.

Now don’t get me wrong, I didn’t hate this show and I did enjoy it…well at least until the last few episodes but if I’m being honest, the plot itself was mediocre at best.
I came for the fighting, the Wuxia, the martial arts and was served politics. At best this show should be labelled political not Wuxia. I can count on my fingers the amount of times they ACTUALLY used their martial arts.

I’m so pissed at the fact that the title of the show suggests we’d be getting some epic war/battles but all we got was bad CGI fights and covered up battle scenes (if you’ve watched it you know what I mean). I wanted some epic fight scenes with both leads fighting together and using their martial arts against others but unfortunately we weren’t served that.
Hei-Bai Fengxi was goals. Loved their unfailing trust and love they had for each other. Loved the way they both silently supported the other.
Loved their aides especially Qi Wu and Feng Chang.

So many things were so inconsistent in this show, like the search of that token that started the whole show, the sacred moon technique they acquired from Old Man Taiyin that ended up not being used, the fountain abode that was suddenly forgotten to be used in the last few episodes, the smarts of our leads that were thrown into the wind to fit in the plot in the last 3 ish episodes…

I don’t want to go too into depth with this review because then I’d have to put some massive spoilers so I’ll just leave you with this checklist, do as you may with it.

Self sacrificing love ✅
Smart ass and bad ass FL ✅
Loyal af aides ✅
Epic Sismance ✅
No love triangles ✅
Amazing chemistry ✅

Inconsistencies ✔️
Rushed ending ✔️
Plot with holes ✔️
Smart ass leads who somehow lost their brains in the last episodes ✔️
Loss of loved ones whose deaths became a joke with how easily the villain died ✔️

So in other words, Watch this if you’re looking for Fine ass Yang Yang and pretty af Lu Si with amazing chemistry together and a pretty good romance.

Don’t watch this if you’re looking for well…Wuxia”

RANT: I read a lot of reviews and most of them rated the show lower than it deserves because they thought it was gonna continue from the last season or because they didn't see their child or because of the fact that there were two Mo Liang Chengs this time and whatnot. What i don't get is that when there were two Tan'er's in S1 no one complained. Anyhoo I'm just gonna say DON'T LET THOSE REVIEWS DECEIVE YOU!

STORY REVIEW: I just finished this and I am totally amazed by how beautiful this drama is. During the first two episodes I was confused even if I had rewatched S1 before I started S2, I was still really confused and I kept on wondering where the writers were going with the story but I was able to grasp the whole thing when Tan'er woke up in Dong Yue again. I WOULD RECOMMEND WATCHING S1 FIRST BEFORE S2 as this would reduce the confusion. This season is them in a parallel universe of their past not them in the modern world. I'm hoping that S3 would at least have them in the modern world but I greatly doubt that from the ending of this season. That aside, Mo Liang Cheng and Qu Tan'er are my ultimate OTP of all my C dramas. Their Chemistry was FIRE and the KISSES, OMG DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE KISSES!!!! Y'all should at least watch this for the romance if nothing else. Jing Xing is probably the best friend ever! I loved the relationship she had with Tan'er in both the seasons. Xing Zhao Ling and Liang Jie really outdid themselves on this one. I hope to see them as a couple in another drama! Kudos to the other cast members too!

OVERALL: I think everyone should give this drama a try. Especially if what you're looking for is ROMANCE and humor lol. This is the show for you.

It's been a while since I wrote a review on a show and I make it a habit to write reviews on shows I think are either TERRIBLE and should be avoided or are UNDERRATED or MISUNDERSTOOD. This is one of the Misunderstood shows.

STORY: So I've seen a lot of people saying the story is dumb and there's too many time skips but may I say the time skips make the development. In the first five or so episodes, the story is developed poorly and we get two Five year time skips. At first I was so pissed and like confused because those episodes literally contained the plot. LITERALLY. This shouldn't stop you from watching it as it's gradually explained in painful but needed flashbacks. I gave the story a 9 because it's unique. The Idea that what you see or hear are most likely not true. .The Idea that though Demons mean a cruel/ evil spirit or person, the people we call demons might actually be angels that went through terrible things and the people we call angels might be the demons in disguise. In other words, do not judge a book by it's cover nor a person by the front they put on as most are just people hurting. This made me fall in love with the story. Oh and yes it is a love story, a story of love of different people who went through shit. Not just romantic, the familial love and loyalty. The tragic love of some. Love that was bound to be tragic and love that was bound to survive the tragedies thrown at them. IT IS A GOOD SHOW!

ACTING/CAST: Can I give a rating higher than 10? WOW Xu Kai and Bai lu, can I please get another romance show with both of you as leads? The acting...what can I say? I was mind blown by all the casts. The evil, the good, the demons, the angels. (Metaphorical). My favorite characters apart from our leads would be seventeen (Lu Shi Qi), Jiang Wu (Though got on my nerves a billion times) and our savage doctor (Han Guang). They were the comic relief of the show, the beauty in the show and the most loyal. Worst character? THE ENTIRE IMMORTAL SECT OF MINGXUAN. Any character that liked Mingxuan automatically, I hated. Favorite couple? of course our main leads. Demoness and Demon kings son. Their love went through so many trials and tribulations but stood strong.

MUSIC: Beauty.

ENDING: This is my main reason for this review. Now it seems a lot of people were confused by the ending. It was a happy ending. The two at the end were not them but their kids playing them. Understood? Yes. Okay. Yes it pissed me off to not see them together at the end too but we gotta take what we can get right?

Rewatch: Yes, sometime in the future.

Let me round it off by telling y'all...the kiss scenes...the wait was worthy. If you're looking for some angst, romance, strong af female leads, amazing character developments, loyalty, laugh your ass off moments, cry your eyes out moments, go right in.

BEAUTIFUL!!!

I just finished it and knew I had to write a review. My ratings speak for me so what else can I say? I MUST SAY I ENJOYED EVERY MOMENT OF THIS SHOW, I found myself rewinding scenes. This show took what other shows would make into unnecessary drama and showed that a show could still be enjoyable without all the misunderstandings. It's the ideal healthy relationship every show should have. My only complain was the last episode felt a bit rushed but I read it was initially supposed to be 35 eps so...oh well.

CHEMISTRY: MY GODDDDDDDDD, SIZZLING CAN'T DESCRIBE THEIR CHEMISTRY, THE NATURAL SKINSHIP, THE NERVOUSNESS, EVERYTHING. I- I had so many butterflies in my stomach, it felt like I was laying in a field.

OST'S - PLEASE I NEED THEM ALL IN MY PLAYLIST. One thing I absolutely loved about this show was that there was little to no awkward instrument playing *cough I hear you cough* (God knows those can turn me off a show) and even the lip syncs (If they were) were not obvious.

CHARACTERS: I really wish Shan Shan's story could have been fleshed out a bit more but even with what we got, I found myself crying with her. The love Taro had for her was so beautiful and please LU JING IS GOALS. I love how Liang Chen stuck with her dreams and never cut herself short. Special shout out to SL, I felt his pain and I'm so grateful he wasn't annoying. AND DID I MENTION HOW SUPPORTIVE THE SIDE CHARACTERS WERE? GOD THEIR FAMILIES ARE GOALS.

IN CONCLUSION: You, yes you reading this and wondering if you should watch it, HIT THAT PLAY BUTTON!

THANK YOU TO THE DIRECTORS OF THIS SHOW, I ABSOLUTELY WILL BE REWATCHING THIS!!!

Now, If you're thinking of watching this show just for the romance...STILL WATCH IT hahaha. There's enough to satisfy you, but you might not enjoy the show as much. Now, if you're looking for an inspirational romantic comedy about achieving dreams, YOU WILL LOVE THIS.
It took me a while to pick this up, I don't know why but I wasn't interested in watching it at first. I got into a drama slump and said let me give this a try. This show really spoke to me on a personal level, it really inspired me and I'm just so happy I watched it.

Why else should you watch?: DENG LUN. Yes he had a cameo in this. When I saw him, I screamed. I love him so much and if you're a fellow lover, I say start this just for his cameo.

CAST: AMAZING. It's my first time watching something of Steven Zhang and I am not disappointed. I will be looking out for his shows. Wu Qian (Janice) is one of my favourite actresses so...of course I loved her here. The supporting casts also did amazing jobs. I especially loved Da Jiang (Cao Bo), Xiao Liao (Qin Tian Yu) and Yue Wei (Han Jiu Nuo).

OST: ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. A 10 from me

STORY: The story is about dreams, failure and setbacks and how you can stand back up. As I said earlier, this show inspired me as I've been really down and lost especially with the current world situation. I say give it a try. You'll be hooked within the first 5 episodes.
The effects and animations were so cool and creative. Kudos to the team. They really outdid themselves on this one.

Rewatch value: I know I'll be re-watching this sometime in the future.
