It is a good drama. The couple is great; acting, chemistry,true love, happing ending... you name it and its there. The best part is main lead
who is the sweetest male lead. He is kind, devoted
and helps female lead through thick and thin. But he is also
the reason I wont rewatch this drama. You see I fell for this
character but this show is all about fl and her past. I waited
patiently as I thought once mortal story arc will finish,we will
get to meet the real guy. The heavenly person, the diety
undergoing tribulation. But the story shifted from female lead to her alter ego's
romance. Dijun who tortured the ml every step of the way got easily pardoned.
I loved the actor who played dijun but I was invested in watching a story and I
wanted him to bear proper karma. At the very least, he should have been sent for
1000s of yr of tribulation to redeem himself. Similary, the moxha star, I wasnt
interested in watching his sorrows. A verbal telling would have been fine. I wanted
to watch little phoneix's past. his friends in heaven. His tribe, his parent scenes. the guy
didnt sprout out of earth. He was a son of heavenly emporor. But it was never shown. I know si feng and I love his character but I would have liked to see how did heaven produced such a decent diety.So, tbh disappointed with screen writing. I really wish that screen
writer would stop throwing a jumble of current popular theme and give equal importance to ml

It is one of those dramas which you'll either love or hate due to its storyline. Both ml and fl are flawed but ml is difficult to accept as he slept with fl thinking of her a prostitute. Fl was young and drugged at that time. So,she had serious depression facing the truth and her life was hard for making certain choices as a consequence of that one night.

If you can accept a ml who purchase women for pleasure. Then, you can watch it. He does have a background trauma which makes him want to eacape relationships. Also he never forgot fl and searched for her extensively. He had fallen in love with her.

Acting is good and it has all the typical thai larkon spices which make them unique in drama world. Thats all I got to say.

This japanese drama is not everyone's cup of tea. It touches the baser emotions of humans which many would find offending especially if one just read the story. However, I think that the topic has been dealt without obscenity. The wording is definitely strong but if one think beyond the sex and romance than it is actually a relatable topic. Many people in this world as they grow they lose themselves to the demands of life. Everyone wants good job, good life partner and a healthy life. But few manage to get it.

Then there are those who get nothing. They just struggle to make through each day. This drama heroine is such a person. She wasnt born to money, she doesnt have exceptional talents nor beauty. All she has is broken trust.

At such low point in her life she meets her first boyfriend from school who is impotent due mental exhaustion and she decides to help him asshe reminds him of his school days (and he never got over her). Personally, I dont think that its something any normal person would do. But she did for plot's sake.Or maybe because they already were in a relationship once and the first love/other firsts are hard to be forgotten. So he held a special place in her psyche.

Anyhow, hero seems emotionally stunt old manga typical lead . He has the thinking of a young teenage male. He isnt mature. He isnt reliable in explaining anything. He is brutually honest and he is madly in love with her as can be read through the subtle hints. Yet, for heroine it is hard to read the cues. Not blaming her though. As the story reach its conclusion, we are graced with a happy ending and a nice feeling in heart that poor female lead finally manage to accomplish an important check point in life all by herself.

Note: I think second ml made the story weird. I mean if you know two people are involved why would you fantasize about female? His heart break was set in stone by himself.

This is my fav wuxia drama. I rewatch it regularly and listen to ost almost daily. I like raw emotions this drama stirr in one's heart.

Anyway, lets get to the review. If I were to sum up the story of this drama in two words, then these two words would be - Forbidden love. I think that would indicate what sort of things will happen without the need for me to give whole story away.

In short, the hero was just and kind. His kindness became a rope around the heroine's neck. It slowly strangled all the good things, leaving behind only the debris of innocence. He only realised at the end that she was most important to him but it was too late.

Despite above words I wont call it a sad ending. In the end they did managed to live happily ever after. Well sort of. Its just that production team didnt do justice to the hero. His scenes were cut down. So his side of things werent as clearly explained. The cut scene are available on youtube. So, at the end watch them. It will make the journey better.

I have seen the show till epi 3 and so far its been really enjoyable. Production is good, music is nice and story is interesting. Those fans who are looking for Goblin vibe, I would say that it is present as both are high quality productions and have mythical storylines. But at the same time, this drama is different. For example, mythical beings like foxes are shown realistically ( as in folklores) as non human, powerful dieties with low empathy. Gore and horror scenes are abundant. There are many mysteries present. His drama has more of horror movie feel.
