Not What You Expect It To Be (in a good way)
This drama subverted my expectations of an idol themed drama. I was worried it may be shallow, or focus too much on unwanted romances. But it ended up being a storyline with a lot of heart. The story made me genuinely happy and genuinely sad. The music was quite good as well! The main cast was great too, despite many of the girl group actresses being rookie actresses. My only real critique is that there are some small plotlines or moments that I feel left more to be desired and didn't always give me exactly what I was hoping for.

Not for everyone, but definitely for me!
I really enjoyed my time with this show! It was one of those dramas that was a little bit slow to start, but from episode 4 onward I was really completely hooked! I never found myself bored, despite the slightly long episode lengths. My one and only problem with the show is a certain romance plot that comes to be. I don't have a problem with the romance itself, because the characters have good chemistry, but to me it didn't align with the direction the characters growth went. It felt like the further apart the characters grew in the moral point of views, the more they were into each other? Which I didn't quite understand. That doesn't happen until the very back half of the show though. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed all other aspects of the show! It was a very thrilling watch with a very entertaining cast of characters that you grow to love!!Was this review helpful to you?
A Lighthearted Drama with Good Messaging, Sentimental Value, and a High Quality Cast
I enjoyed many aspects of this show. My favorite part was probably the romantic plot line between the two main love interests. Their love story was very cute in a way that made me giddy. I also appreciated how, as a law drama, Young Woo didn't always win every case/ how sometimes she had to represent people or situations that were morally grey. I feel like often in law dramas, it can get repetitive watching the genius lawyer stick up for the little guy and continuously win every case. But the variety of clients that Young Woo took on not only added more interest to the show, but absolutely furthered the story and her character development. I would definitely watch this show again. A perfectly lighthearted drama that still feels very sentimental and also carries many good messages. Was this review helpful to you?
High Rewatch Value
This drama is truly great overall!! I must pre-face that I originally watched this show just because I am a Shin Se Kyung fan. But it wasn't just her that made this show so wonderful for me! To start, the production is wonderful. I loved the scenery, costumes, and cinematography. For a historical drama, this show was largely light-hearted and optimistic, which I loved very much. The repertoire between the historians was funny and very heart-warming.; it almost felt like watching an office drama at times.
The acting was on point from every character. And the characters themselves were so amazing, I feel very attached to them.
Some highlights of this show to me are:
-The relationship between the leads. I enjoyed the young, lonely, romantic ML and his dynamic with the adventurous, knowledgeable, and strong FL. They both long for freedom in their lives, but in different ways.
-The Crowned Prince Yi Jin. It is hard to explain but his character was very loveable and human. His mistakes, his feelings, and his perspective all feel very natural and definitely drew me to this character!
-The ending! I will not spoil, but I often have a bit of a problem with finales of dramas. This finale still kept up the pace that the show has throughout with an ending that I found satisfactory and memorable.
I have only just finished this drama today. But I watched it in only 3 days. So I know I will want to rewatch it again very soon.

Everyone should watch this!!
Everything about this show is perfect to me. The overall story is so very well-rounded and the pace is consistent and exciting to follow. Probably the best K-drama I have seen. It is not what you may expect it to be (that is if you are just expecting it to be about a stuck up rich girl who ends up in a sticky situation).Every single character in the show finds their way into your heart in a way in which many come to feel like family. Especially captain Ri's men, who hold a lot of the heart of the show. The romance is one of epic proportions in all the ways you can imagine. The only downside of this show is that it ends.

A Fun and Lovely Show!
I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish! The leads have great chemistry and the supporting cast has many funny and absurd moments. The plot, romance, and jokes were mostly quite cliché, but that is what made me love it so much! It is certainly a show that will make you smile. The show is part office comedy, part romance, and part uncovering a mystery. I had no choice but to binge the entire show within days. If you are on the fence of watching the show, and you enjoy cheesier shows, I highly suggest watching!!! (side note: Park Min Young is seriously so gorgeous, you can't help but to love her character). Was this review helpful to you?
