remember: turn off brain before watching, & you're in for the SWEETEST effin treat <3
look, the 'plot' was a hot fucking mess, & if i think for more than THREE SECONDS about the fact that (very vague, but nevertheless 'spoilers' ahead:)they literally tried to redeem this one character that was practically a silent accomplice in a horrible crime against a poor girl, i WILL fucking scream, but if you also DON'T think about that,
the show is adorable enough to hurt your cheeks because fo smiling too much & make your goddamn teeth rot because it's so sweet.
it really is the textbook definition of a comfort show, the chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS, & the entire cast of characters is super lovable & easy to root for.
if you're into mindless fluff-fests & / or are having a bad day, give this one a go & you won't regret it <3

the eclipse was a really special show.
the tone and mood was perfectly contradicting from one moment to the next- there was the mystery / curse part of the show, and the youth / romance drama part of it, and i enjoyed both immensely.now, was the eclipse a perfect show? definitely not. there are lots of valid criticisms to be made against the plot of the show and how they could've made it stronger, but for me at least, the show really delivers its core message well by drawing the right metaphors and not making things too unrealistic or dramatic.
like, the show still very much feels grounded in reality despite the grandiose themes of rights and revolution it's aiming to tackle, and i actually appreciate that!
it's like the show allows you a choice: you can look past the surface and into the intricacies of the plot and the metaphors they're drawing up (for example, the fact that orwell's 1984 is literally a major plot point in the series and therefore obviously a source of inspiration for the story) OR you can choose to take the story at a surface level, where it's a tried and true coming-of-age love story focusing on themes such as friendships, family, and redemption.
notice how even the 'surface level story' highlights indubitably important and worthwhile themes? exactly.
the eclipse is worth watching both for its heavier themes, and for its lighter ones, because they are both done SO fucking well!
apart from that, the cast is just amazing, and makes it real easy to forgive the narrative faults of the show ♡
overall, the eclipse was an absolute joy to watch and witness, and i personally adored every bit of it!!! ??

she might not be EVERYTHING, but she's cute :p
look- imma say it right out the gate, it's a drama that VERY OBVIOUSLY suffers from what i like to call the typical 'KBL Conundrum' which is: 'too much plot, too little airtime' so don't be expecting too much going in, but it's a really cute show, & it barely takes like 2 hours from your life if you wanna watch it (which i'd recommend you do, since it's pretty cute :p)also, the fact that we get TWO actual kisses (none of that awful fish lips business here), is a WIN idc ??
so, yeah! she might not be everything you want or hope for it to be, but she's cute! & maybe that's enough. not everything has to, or is gonna- be an absolute masterpiece teeheet

such an adorable fluff-fest of a show that you WILL go straight to hell if you hate it ??
my school president just... hit EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN BOX for me. it's one of the most adorable, fun, most full-of-heart-&-soul shows i've seen in a while, & i wouldn't trade the experience of watching it in real time & waiting for episodes every week & having fun in the comments for anything.it's a show that'll take you right back to your nostalgic high school days & have you reminiscing about a perfect first love that never even happened (???) & it explores love & friendship & family & youth, and... you should just really go watch it right now!
music is so fucking good i have EVERY SINGLE SONG on my spotify playlist, direction & cinematography is **chef's kisses** and the actors are the most adorable bunch of kids you'll ever come across with chemistry so good they'll have you squealing like a little kid because of the most innocent touches.
GO WATCH THE GODDAMN SHOW!

yes, the plot is an absolute mess & objectively speaking, the show does not deserve a 9, and yet...
cutie pie is one of those shows that you inexplicably KNOW is objectively so-so, but you can't help but love it all the same because it's got so much heart and it's so lovingly made. my rating of the show is so totally biased because of me adoring it to bits lol, but i do still think it's a show that most can enjoy IF they go in with the right expectations:the show is largely meant to be a fluffy romcom, so please watch it accordingly- expecting perfectly logical plot points and character motivations or developments is not the way to go about it <3 if that's not your thing, then please direct your attentions elsewhere!
if that does seem like the kinda thing you'd enjoy, though- if you want a bit of adorable, harmless fun and romance, then i suspect you'll enjoy cutie pie just alright!

one of the best goddamn romances to exist.
to be honest, i still don't think i can quite put a finger on why exactly to my star hits so different, but it really does. there's something about how lovingly the show is shot, about how irreversibly in love jiwoo and seojoon are, and about how soft they are with every word and every touch.there's something about the fact that when these characters are in pain, you really come to love them enough to cry right alongside with them, and when they're happy, you find yourself kicking your goddamn blankets in happiness and smiling till your cheeks hurt.
at the end of the day, i think the best way to put it is this: to my star is a show that will make you fall into it so effortlessly that you won't even realize how deeply you've fallen into love with these characters and their story until it's too late to back out.
(also, just as a sidenote: i fucking ADORE that film effect they've given this season so freaking much!!! it really brings out a sentimental sorta vibe that matches perfectly with the story and gives it a gorgeous timeless look. the visuals are just taken to the next level this time 'round <3)
tl;dr? GO WATCH THE SHOW OH MY GOD I SWEAR YOU WON'T REGRET IT

came for lee jongsuk, stayed for yang kyungwon ?? (nah but forreal, just GO WATCH IT!!)
want a fast-paced, crime-centered drama focusing on a mysterious entity (with JUST the right amount of drama & light-heartedness sprinkled in to keep it fun)? big mouth's your show!i'll start this off by saying: i have SO many thoughts about this drama but i'll keep this review short and sweet.
i believe that big mouth is a 10/10 drama. YES, the ending is rushed and there are too many questions to truly call it a perfect show, but for me- the sheer fucking excitement that coursed through my veins every week when i was about to watch a new episode is what truly represents how good the drama was- not the fumbled ending due to a classic case of 'too much plot too little time'.
in any case, if the drama described above seems to be your kinda thing, i DEFINITELY recommend watching it- although the execution might not have been the best towards the end, big mouth was SO damn near perfect that i bet it probably won't even matter to you when all's said and done: just as it doesn't matter to me!

she might be trashy, but she's also terribly cute, sooo ?
look, imma be honest with you: she's trashy, she's lowkey traumatising (all those fucking FLASHBACKS bro- shit was literally triggering), & she's terribly style-over-substance, but she's fun!'bed friend' is not gonna be doing anything grandiose like change the landscape of BL or whatever, but she's there to hold your hand when you wanna watch something mindlessly fun & floofy & if you wanna watch this painfully cinderella-but-even-MORE-traumtised little baby grow from his abusive, awful past & find true love in the form of this 'player' who we literally never see flirt with ANYONE over the course of the show since he's so fucking whipped for his boy, 'bed friend' is the show for you !
so yeah! you're definitely gonna have to skip past sizable chunks of the show if specific topics trigger you (I AM *SO* SERIOUS ABOUT THIS- THIS SHIT GAVE ME THE WILLIES) but it's overall a really cute little bl to binge as your bad decision of the night!!

idc what y'all say lmao, this show just hit EVERY. FUCKNG. BOX. for me!
'vice versa' actually makes for a super interesting case study in how shows as simple and uncontroversial as this can become so polarising for audiences, & i'd argue it's mostly the fault of there being a huge disparity between people's expectations going into the show & the actual focal point & content of the show, but that's not what matters here.what matters is that from big premises like universe-travelling & soulmates to little tropes & things like tiki-taka relationships, healthy jealousy, friends to lovers, & SO MUCH FUCKING FLIRTING IT'S A MIRACLE PEOPLE AROUND THEM CAN EVEN BREATHE THE SAME AIR AS THESE TWO FUCKERS ANYMORE BECAUSE THIS LOVEY DOVEY BULLSHIT MUST STINK REAL BAD, 'vice versa' just hits EVERY SINGLE FUCKING TROPE that i'm personally weak for.
i'm a huge sucker for some good-ass fluffy romance & found family-type friendships & chasing dreams & notions of how important love is & soulmates & shit, & so for me, this show just did it all, okay?!
if it seems like any of these things might be your cup of tea, too, i'd say: give it a watch for sure! but even if not, for something as surprsingly polarising as 'vice versa', i'd say you give it a go just for the sake of finding out what side of this fight YOU'RE on, lol :p

A show with extremely high potential suffering from the typical Korean BL conundrum
I was not prepared to like First Love, Again as much as I did. And yes, maybe it's solely because of the fact that I am a SUCKER for reincarnation and especially soulmate AU, but I promise its not just that. This show just had so much freaking potential that despite the fact that it didn’t really fulfill it, I still love it for having said potential in the first place.
The thing that stuck out to me the most was the acting; a bit of a surprise since most lower-budget shows tend to suffer the most in this exact area. But Gun and Changha did SO well in their roles that it was their acting and chemistry solely that won me over (rather than the story... which started off well enough, certainly, but **definitely** took a hell of a dive in the last episodes).
Apart from that, the show is really aesthetically pleasing in that typical kdrama way, the OST is really solid, and the premise of the show is so unique and lovely.
The only place the show really falls apart on (for me), is the story: which felt rushed and awkward solely because of the awfully (typically) short runtime of the show.
So yes, the show ends up being quite mediocre overall, but there's definitely something inexplicably charming about it.
And it definitely makes for a good, fluffy, lighthearted watch when you don't want to be thinking too much, so do with all this information what you will ♡
