i try not to rate series ambitiously high, but this one really deserves this. i had just finished binge watching this with my sister. i’ve heard a lot of hype about it, so i went into it with high standards. plus, it was made by the same person who made blueming, so i had a feeling it was going to be good.
but can i say, this series isn’t anything what i was expecting it to be.
i went into this partially blind— i didn’t really know what the plot was, i just knew it was something about music. that was all.
usually when i watch series, i commentate and make jokes about it the entire time. that’s just something i’ve always done. but with this series, it kept me so captivated that i was literally silent the entire time. that never happens.
after watching the second episode, i just knew this show was going to change everything for me.
i have watched a lot of bl series. i’ve seen a lot of different pairings together, and i’ve witnessed many types of chemistry. but in my time, i’ve never seen chemistry like this. i cant even explain it, these two actors had such extraordinary chemistry.
i really loved this story so much. the slowburn, the pining, the angst, i loved it so much.
the plot itself was very refreshing. it wasn’t some basic repetitive plot i’ve seen sometimes, but that usually doesn’t happen in korean bl’s. at least in the ones i’ve seen.
the way hantae loved baram was honestly soul crushing to me. he cherished him so much, and took care of him so well. their relationship before they got together was something seriously so special to me. even after they got together, they were still so beautiful.
i usually don’t rate ost’s that high, because i don’t like them most of the time. but i cannot say the same thing for this series.
every time baram would sing “letter of apology”, it felt like my heart was going to burst. he has such an amazing voice, and the emotions poured out of him every time.
i feel like the emotions in this show were so surreal, i was able to feel everything that baram felt. from the heartbreak from his first love, to the pain he felt from loving somebody he thought he couldn’t have. he’s a very relatable character, and doyoon portrayed him perfectly.
it’s just the way that hantae was so dedicated to baram, the way he would do absolutely anything for him. it really made my heart turn.
this show quickly took the spot as my #1 favorite korean bl series. i was speechless the entire show, for every moment.
the cinematography was beautiful too. everything was shot so beautifully.
the pacing was amazing too. it wasn’t rushed and it wasn’t slow, it just went on like a movie. it felt like a movie.
i liked that there wasn’t any unnecessary drama either. it’s not uncommon for there to be stupid misconceptions and misunderstandings between the characters. it’s nice to see that in this show, when there is angst between the two characters, there was a solid reason behind it.
i understand baram completely. if i confessed to my best friend, but felt he didn’t feel the same way, i would also want to completely isolate myself from him. even if he was accepting of the confession, i just don’t think i’d be able to handle that. especially with how close the two were.
i’m having a hard time writing a good detailed review, because to me, this series was complete perfection, i’m finding it hard to get all of my thoughts and feelings out.
this was really such a beautiful show. i don’t think the reviews on this does it justice at all. if you want to watch a series with a good story, then watch this. this definitely changed my expectations in the korean bl industry.

i just finished binge watching this, and i have to say, i think it deserves a little more love than it’s received. when it comes to korean bl, you should go into the series not expecting anything spectacular. have low standards, so you won’t get disappointed!
i may just be easily entertained, but i really enjoyed watching this series.
i really liked the plot. i love reincarnation/soulmate tropes.
i do wish the episodes were a bit longer. the 2-3 minutes of recap from the previous episodes didn’t help either. i’m not sure if this series has a movie version, but i feel like if i had watched that, it would’ve made the story move more smoothly. when series have a short amount of viewing time, if you watch it with a movie mindest, it won’t feel as off paced. this series was basically a movie cut up in 10 episodes.
i have nothing really bad to say about youdam and dongbaek. for once, a main couple didn’t have any unnecessary problems and drama, and their communication was quite well. their acting wasn’t terrible and chemistry is there. i feel if they had a better written/produced show, their chemistry would be a lot more visible.
for denis’ character, i have a lot of questions. it’s clear from the start that there was something wrong with him. i spent my time wondering what it could be, since the series never explained it (as the episodes went on, i was hoping they were going to.)
it was clear he had some type of mental illness. at first, i thought he had a panic disorder. but then as he interacted with dongbaek more, i thought maybe he had some type of personality disorder.
he was on medication, and when his episodes would start, if dongbaek were around, he would be there to console him and calm him down. i think that’s what started denis’ obsession with him— since dongbaek knew how to take care of those situations.
denis had a huge fear of abandonment. he’s mentioned many times how youdam had used him and abandoned him. this boy definitely had some trauma and i think that’s where his problems could be rooted from.
anyways, i wish they went more into depth on his character. but with the time limit, it was bound to not happen.
the parallel from the present time to the past time was genuinely heartbreaking for me. it killed me seeing youdam have to live through that again, especially when he thought the curse was over.
i’m not unsatisfied with the ending of this series, but it definitely took a turn that i wasn’t expecting.
i thoroughly enjoyed this plot, and i feel like it could’ve done a lot better than it did if there was more time. nonetheless, i still really enjoyed this series. it’s very different from most korean bl’s, too. hopefully there will be a second season!

i really liked it when it first started airing, and as a few episodes came out. but as the series went on, i found myself liking it less and less. i still love it a lot, i enjoyed it very much and was entertained by it. but there were a few things that makes me not like it as much as i thought i was going to. the pacing was not good at all. there was no clear indicator on the speed of time throughout this series. things were either happening too fast, or too slow and there were mant scenes that i felt were unnecessary or they were just being dragged out. i liked the concept of the plot, but the one thing i don’t like about it, is how simeon and hyunjae were barely shown getting together— as the trailer made us believe was going to be more of a major part of the plot. the overall pacing was off, and as i mentioned there were a bit unnecessary scenes, but other than that, i really liked it. junmo and hyunwoo have great chemistry, so i hope they will be a pair in a future series. junmo and chanhyun had great chemistry too.

i am absolutely obsessed with this show. i’ve been anticipating it for a while because i’m a fan of j-min. and let me say, i was not disappointed in the slightest.
at the start of the show, i was very confused on what was going on because the plot that was being shown to me was different than synopsis’ that i’ve read online, so i just couldn’t fully grasp the true concept until a bit later. other than that, i have literally no complaints.
the pacing was so good. nothing was rushed, and i loved how each couple was given mostly equal amounts of screen time. it allowed each of their stories to go into depth without any rush or holes.
all of the actors have great chemistry with each other, which is surprising since this series is a lot of their first roles. i wasn’t expecting j-min to be a bad actor, but he definitely flew way out of my expectations.
all of these characters felt really real. that’s how good everyone’s chemistry is. like if you told me these characters were real and they were dating in real life, i would believe you. that’s how good their acting and chemistry is.
i loved this plot a lot. i loved how it wasn’t overly cheesy, had a dark side to it, and some angst too. and the differences between each couples was refreshing too— nothing was repetitive so it held my attention well and i was able to really indulge into this series more. in the short amount of time, this series has become one of my favorite kbl series. i’m so proud of j-min, and i’m happy that i’ve been able to find other amazing actors to support. i’ll definitely be rewatching this.

Annoying conflict scene.

This is all I'm coming here to say, but when I was watching this for the first time, I actually really liked it.
But when the main characters ended up fighting in ep 7, I turned off the show and never finished.
BL's are notorious for ridiculous fights and arguments, and almost every time I can get past it. But for some reason, this time I couldn't. I was so annoyed and I genuinely was a bit angry? The show was doing so well, but that fight had ruined everything.
Never in my life had I dropped a BL series so far into it. I either drop it after the first 1 or 2 episodes, or I watch the entire thing. But this one broke that streak.
I'm not hating on it at all, I did really enjoy it up until that point. I just found it utterly ridiculous.

um, well, there’s a lot i can say here.
for starters, this wasn’t really anything like the thai version, which i’m not complaining about. it was a LOT less problematic, which is good. i also just liked both of the couples relationships.
to be honest, i couldn’t remember much about the thai version, since i watched it while it was airing and never touched it again after it finished. but i feel like the only thing similar is the fanfic plot. other than that, it felt like a completely different series. i couldn’t figure out which characters was supposed to be who. but hey, maybe that was the point. to take a similar plot but make it it’s own. i did enjoy this more than the original anyways.
it’s definitely not a bad show, i actually really enjoyed it. i binged it all in one night, and unknowingly got caught up. so it was a bit of torture waiting for the last two episodes.
i think the actors all have great chemistry with each other. their relationships didn’t feel forced at all, but if the writing was better they would’ve been more amazing couples. the production wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t amazing either. the directing was good, and the pacing was pretty ok.
there were a lot of plot holes though. one of the major plot holes that should’ve been addressed was when yugyeom broke up with this girlfriend, and when yiwon and jioh got together.
i felt like yugyeom should’ve told sunwoo that his relationship with doyeon was fake. i really don’t think he would’ve told anyone. it would’ve been much easier for them, and a lot less confusing. their communication was terrible, but so was jioh’s and yiwon’s. but that’s usually a given in bls.
i wish they would’ve shown jioh and yiwon having a conversation or something before they got together.. instead of just cutting to them making out in the hallway.
other than that, i think those two are my only complaints. yugyeom was so stupid for a lot of things but i loved him a lot. he really just needed to talk to sunwoo, he didn’t have to make everything so complicated.
it was an enjoyable series for me. it was really funny and engaging. i liked jioh’s character a lot.
another thing i didn’t like is how the recap’s from previous episodes were almost 2-3 minutes long. that was a bit annoying.
all in all, it could’ve just been written a bit better, that’s it!
also, yiwon’s sister needs therapy. like there is seriously something wrong with her.

My new #1 favorite korean bl.

I had just binge watched this series yesterday. Since it has been airing, I've heard a lot of good things about it. Other than that, it was all over my social media accounts. Twitter, Tiktok, Instagram-- it was everywhere. So I decided to finally watch it. I am a fan of Woongki, so I was anticipating the BL he was going to be in since it was announced, but I didn't realize it was this one until I had started watching. I did enjoy his character, though.

Now, onto the show itself. I was very confused at the beginning. But as time went on, I ended up understanding it more quickly. I loved the dynamic between Myungha and Yeowoon. Although, I felt insanely bad for Yeowoon because of his struggles, and I found that I related to him a lot. Same with Myungha, I related to him a lot more when his backstory was revealed near the ending of the story.

When I started the series, I had no idea what it was about. I didn't watch a trailer, read a synopsis or any reviews. I went in blind, but I think I enjoyed that more since I was able to piece to plot together myself. I enjoyed the unique plot a lot. There were many times where I was genuinely shocked at twists. Nothing that I had expected to happen did (other than the scenes I had briefly seen in edits before).

The two leads, Lee Taevin and Cha Joowon had really good chemistry. They also played their parts very well. I'm even more impressed with Taevin's portrayal of Myungha. It is difficult to express those complex and foreign emotions that Myungha had to deal with.

There is a lot I want to say, but I will refrain because I don't want to spoil. But, I highly recommend this to anyone, no matter what kind of love story they are looking for. It has it's cute moments, but the overall depths of the plot is very sad. I was even expecting it to have a sad ending (which I wouldn't have minded.)

I seriously enjoyed watching this, and I wish I could watch it again for the first time.

to be honest, i could write an entire essay about this season.
for starters, let’s talk about the break-up. it was so extremely painful to watch. of course, i loved season 1 so much because that was the start of everything, but season 2 really just did something else for me. i seriously love angst and painful plots, so you could understand why i’m obsessed with this season.
i felt so terrible for seojoon. not knowing the reason why jiwoo left him must have been so devastating for him. and jiwoo, the way he was acting like nothing was even happening, i couldn’t handle it. it was so painful.
there were many scenes where i got very emotional. the way woohyeon and kangmin portray their characters is incredible. in some scenes, it really felt as if i were [character], just because the way their emotions were expressed so perfectly and realistically. it really hit me like a truck. i may be dramatic, but there was a certain scene where i could really feel jiwoo’s emotion, as if i were soaking it up like a sponge. it was heartbreaking and devastating, and so suffocating. these men really deserve an award for their performance in this season, because it was seriously extraordinary.
it’s hard to really write my true feelings about this season without giving any spoilers.
if i’m ever in the need to feel like i myself have got broken up with, i will definitely rewatch this.
many people didn’t like the season because they just didn’t like how seojoon and jiwoo broke up, but that’s exactly why i like this season so much.
it showed how realistic dating is. no couple in this world is going to have a perfect, painless relationship. maybe this is my preference for drama and angst talking, but it really took this couple and characters to a whole new level.
i seriously applaud woohyeon and kangmin. they are incredible actors.

this series will always hold such a special spot in my heart. i remember watching it for the first time, and i fell in love with seojoon and jiwoo. they are polar opposites, and i loved it.
seojoon was extroverted and carefree, while jiwoo was introverted and particular. this is an enemies-to-lovers trope, which is one of my favorites.
i cant even count how many times i’ve rewatched it. it’s such a cute and heartwarming series. i love the plot so much, and i love the characters. not even just the main couple, but also the manager and ceo, i love them all so dearly.
woohyeon and kangmin have amazing chemistry. i could never get tired or bored of watching them. no matter how many times i rewatch this series, i still love it so much.
i liked the pacing. it wasn’t too fast, and it wasn’t too slow. whenever i rewatch this series, i usually watch the movie. the movie version makes the pacing feel more normal for some reason.
the director did a great job with this series. the ost is amazing too. “to my star” ost is by far the best bl ost i’ve ever heard, and i’m not being biased. i can feel all of the emotions. the love, the longing. and not to mention, it just reminds me of the series and seojoon and jinwoo, which makes my heart ache even more. it’s a very emotional ost.
i especially loved how jiwoo has gradually warmed up to seojoon. cold tsundere characters turning into sweet affectionate kind are always my favorite. i love him so dearly.
this is such an amazing series. i will always love it so much. this really set the standard for me.

i don’t even know where to start with this series.
before i’ve watched this, my all time favorite korean bl was to my star 1&2. but once the trailer dropped for this series, something clicked in my brain. i knew this series was going to be the best kbl i’ve ever seen. and i was right.
theres many good things i can say about this show. for one, the directing was amazing. and the cinematography was amazing as well. just based on the teaser, the eighth sense was giving me some sort of “indie-college-film-project” vibe, and i was 100% there for it.
i absolutely loved the plot. it was executed perfectly too. nothing was going too fast or two slow— the pacing was perfect. to me, this series had more of a slowburn feel, which i loved. it was filled with much angst, and i love angsty shows, so that’s another reason why i loved this so much.
the acting was incredible. jisub and juntaek had immaculate chemistry.
i really really loved jaewon. i tend to drift more towards characters that have a troubling past/present. mental health being portrayed in media, especially korean, is really important to many people who struggle as well. and i think this show executed it very well. it didn’t villanize him, but it also didn’t make it to be jaewon’s entire personality. it was vague, but enough to understand what he was going through. plus, on the extra scenes on youtube, you can see his mental illness more in depth.
this was such a beautiful series. with the pining, the angst, the cinematography, the music, everything was perfect. but to me, this series was painful to watch. but i love painful and angsty series.
i rated the rewatch value lower than 10, just because i know it would kill me if i did. rewatch it. i totally would though, if i wanted to be in pain again.
there’s so many more things i could say about this series, but my mind is drawing blank and it’s been a while since i’ve watched it, since i was watching it while it was airing.
i have no complaints at all. so amazing and beautiful.
