Well, I started watching this Jdrama in a whim (haha) but I never expected to be enchanted by this one. Like seriously. This is my very first review, so I hope you'll take care of me. ^^

Story:
Typical josei romance plot (you'll appreciate this if you're a manga reader). Boy meets girl, the guy fell in love with her, then he pursues the girl. Actually the plot is just ordinary, except for a unique twist that the guy is a monk. The comedic dialogues are present which are good, and I guess that what makes this charming (for me anyway). But what I really liked about the story is honestly the guy's character. His personality is really charming in an enchanting way. I don't know but I developed a deep affection to the main lead not only because of his physical appearance but his character development as well. The girl is our typical josei woman (if you read josei manga, then you know what I mean).

Acting/Casting:
Such handsome and pretty people, I must admit. XD Well, I liked how the actors and actresses (esp the main leads) portrayed their respective roles. I haven't read the manga yet so I can't really say if they had portrayed it well but I can assure you they are really good. Good enough to make my emotions sway every damn episode easily. Ugh, I just so love them all.

Music:
BACK NUMBER IS THE BEST! XD YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO IT. YOU'LL DEFINITELY LOVE IT. HAHA Even though I look like I'm promoting, the OST "back number" really suits this show well. I fell in love with this song first before I fell in love with the show, so if you're still skeptical 'bout watching this, then I advise you to at least try listening to the OST. It made me appreciate the show more, maybe it could persuade you as well.

Overall:
I rated this 10/10 in MDL (personal taste hehe) but I'll go now with 9/10. It's really a good one. I rarely get feels when watching Japanese drama but I must say this is an exception. Maybe because I watched this during Christmas eve and Christmas day. HAHA Welp, I don't really know. But I really like the roller coaster of emotions this drama awakened in me. It made me realize that falling in love is not an easy thing. Again. It brings you pain, suffering, tears, frustrations (lololol hint: lots of drama at the end so beware) but as well as happiness, smiles, laughter, and hope. But at the end of the day, you'll still choose to fall in love despite of the pain it will bring in your heart. Because as they say, love can keep the sadness at bay. It will cure a painfully broken heart as well as warming a cold frozen heart buried with time.

Have a happy holidays. :)

Story:
Very well made. Well paced. It was so cute and so fluffy I could die. In short, it's beautiful. Most of the historical drama with a twist of time travelling always ends up as one of the main leads ending up in the future. But this one, is the other way around. Dan Bi, a senior high school student, has this ability to travel to another time (correct me if I'm wrong) and at the day of the NSAT, she ended up in the Joseon period. Well, she met the King at that time (I forgot his name) and later both of them fell in love with each other. I'll leave to you figuring out the rest of the story, but I assure it's really awesome. And funny. And adorable. I mean, for a drama special, this deserves high praise. This beat most of the long drama I watched in the past where the plot was dragged too long it became lame. I wouldn't really mind if they made this into a drama but I see this as fitting as it is (being a 2-episode drama special). Kudos to the writers!

Acting/Casting:
If you have seen Oh My Ghost, then you should know that our Soon Ae is the one playing Dan Bi (female main lead). Oh my gosh she's really terrific. She never failed to amuse me whatever role she takes. You can say that I'm really her fan because she will never fail to make everyone laugh. The male main lead is gorgeous too, and seriously, why is it every handsome Korean actor/idol looks really good in historical clothes? Esp the clothes of the King or a nobleman? Haha, but kidding aside, the role suits him well. Though the two of them (the main leads) don't really have a strong chemistry (though they look good together) they pulled it off. The romance they portrayed was so sweet and innocent that it made my heart flutter.

Music:
Hmm, honestly, only a single song somehow attracted my attention. Don't get me wrong, the OSTs are okay. But that last song in the last episode really peaked my interest (maybe because the show is too short that the other songs didn't leave a striking impression on me or what). But well, I'm not really an expert in evaluating songs after all. I like what I like, so that leaves for you to decide whether they are good.

Rated this 9.5/10. I could have given this 10 but somehow there are some points in the story that I'm not really that satisfied. But the over all show is a hit. I must say it was one of the best show in this year. Definitely enjoyable.

If you're looking for a light-hearted romantic show (shorter than a typical drama but longer than a movie) with a tinge of Korean history (I assure you this part will not bore you), then try watching Splash Splash Love. No, you don't really have to think about it. Just watch it. Then you can judge later by letting it enchant you the way it charmed me.

Ciao.
