I'm a gay man (living in London) who - like countless gay men and lesbian women across the globe - grew up without any access to stories, images, poems, songs or ads which in any way mentioned the possibility, the reality, of same-sex love. And so I take delight in the outpouring of beautiful gay love stories and "BL" series from various countries in the Far East. They make up for that absence, that lack.  They tell the stories that were never hinted at until so recently. They offer us a glimpse of the beauty and romance that was unseen.  Most importantly, they  enable young gay men and lesbian women of today to grow up in a different world where they see and hear stories about people like them.
