Almost exactly the same as the anime version.
This is good. I watched the anime again and again in the past, so it was a bit of a dull ride for me....or so that's what I thought at first. The story, plot and characters still capture me again just like the anime version. The drama version is good and I think the acting was not bad too, and spoiler ahead......The drama followed the time period of the anime, which is like the year 2000s, so not everyone has a handphone or a computer, the drama skipped some parts of the side character's story and I was okay without it. The awesome internet sensation was a bit underwhelmed, maybe because they did not make it into a world sensation but just the country itself only. But that's okay too.
This time, though there are times when the main lead Xiao Guang treated Chu Ying a bit badly at times, it was not really the same as the anime. The drama showed Xiao Guang treating Chu Ying more kindly, more sincerely and appreciatively. And most importantly, the wonderful day they spent before he left forever. So in my opinion, this is better than the anime version as you won't feel so regretful for Chu Ying for the way Xiao Guang treated him like in the anime.

Maybe considered spoiler, so anyone who don't even want to know a single hint about this drama, don't look any further. After I finished this drama, what I like about it is there are no scenes that make me feel heart-wrenching anger (bad kind) or agonizing pain (also bad-kind) [that is if you exclude the main reason of the whole drama]. You can just enjoy how he strategized so brilliantly and completely, letting you feel the anxiety of whether his plotting will succeed or not. My curiosity of how he turn the whole situation around is satisfied too.
I like Fei Liu (simple, good-at-fighting kid beside Mei Chang Su), his scenes are so cute and funny!

Slice of life
Anyone expecting any adorable lovey scenes? Don't. You will be disappointed.A very day-to-day life with another person who is nagging you to write the novel and make sure that the ending will satisfied him. Worry about the lack of money, sharing the last bit of food available at home to avoid hunger, finding a job, working at the job, teaching how to woo a girl, taking care of another when one is sick, spending a day together.
No sweet scenes, just feel like friend to friend relationship with bickering. Of course I know gay scenes are not allowed, but why don't make it cuter? (-_-)
I fast-forwarded the whole drama even though its only 6mins per episode. Quite boring to me. Feel free to try and watch it.

A sweet tumultuous romance.
The plot seems fascinating with the character twist. The romance is very sweet and nice.
The sort of second ML with an unrequited love to the FL, his character is quite funny.
The female lead is one of the prettier androgynous actress I've seen. She can really pass off looking like either a male or a female.
She is the typical sweet, innocent, caring, and submissive kind of female that listens to the ML and is always thinking of him kind of girl.
The FL's roommate also have her own romance. It was sweet, simple and direct.
The FL's brother seems like an after-thought mid-way in the show, them suddenly is the focus at the end.
There is potential bromance for the FL's brother, but it has no chance to develop....such a pity.
The danger that surrounds them make the show a bit more interesting.
The second half of the show is a bit draggy.
The ending is open-ended for the brother.
Overall, it is alright.
Can give a watch.

Light-hearted Romance Comedy
I was not expecting much when I started this drama. It turns out much funnier and cuter than expected. The whole plot of 1 city has men are the gender in power, while another city has women the gender in power makes it a fresh and interesting plot too. I particularly like how each character has their own loyal servant by their side that serve them so faithfully and wholeheartedly. This drama will not invoke intense emotions like anger and sadness (a blessing to me, especially with costume/historical dramas), it is a light-hearted drama, so you can watch with ease. Another highlight is that the male lead is a total faithful man that is very affectionate and doting, very doting and loving! I love it!Was this review helpful to you?
