Memory loss

This drama kept me on the edge of my seat. Great acting on both the main characters. But why tell us he had no memory of his childhood and then never go back to explore why it happed. Don’t watch this till the next season starts or you are in for a disappointment in there isn’t an ending. Why has it taken so long to finish this series? I know Covid , but seriously.
