tolerable ratchetness
The characters in here were so damn ratchet. Always fighting, screaming, yelling and slut shaming every 5 seconds but for some reason, it was tolerable. But I'm not sure if it's because of the way the story was executed or just because my ass is whipped for Yaya and Mark and their presence somehow made it a little less annoying. The storyline is nothing special. It's your typical Thai drama with revenge, slap-kiss and a lot of ghettoness from girls accusing each other of stealing their man to snatching ugly weaves and throwing hands every other minute. What made Kleun Cheewit as popular as it is was the chemistry between the two leads. Yaya and Mark were the saving grace of the show and the sexual tension was undeniable! She impressed me so much playing as Jeerawat. Brought the character to life and I can feel every emotion just through her eyes. You go girl! Mark fulfilled his parts although not as impressive as Yaya, but that could also just be the character he was given to play. But damn, was he sexy! I'd have to admit that I first watched Kleun Cheewit for Mark lol. As great as they are, I gave the acting/cast a 10 also because of such great supporting cast. Louis, Toey, Nychaa, Masu, Bua and Noey (my favorite N'rai). I definitely believe these supports also made Kleun Cheewit what it is. They definitely can hold their own and they had!
I don't love the music but I do like it. It goes well with the story and the vibe they're going for. Would I watch it again? Probably not. KC is very dramatic and quite heavy at times. It's not something I would be able to watch in peace if I were to grab a quick tea and wanted to put something on unless I want to deal with some ratchet cat fighting and violence.
I'll do a quick breakdown of some characters and my opinions on them cause why not:
Jee: Fucking queen. She'll give you what you give her. Treat her with kindness and respect? She'll do the same back. Act like an asshole and an insecure bitch? She won't be afraid to put you in your place. Inside, she is a broken person who just wants love.
Thit: He frustrates me. I am biased though because I really really like Mark Lmao. But Thit is such a pain in the ass. I'm not sure how he ever became a lawyer with that mindset of his. He was so damn rough and violent. After all he's done to her, he better be grateful that Jee would even give him the time of day.
Chaiyan: Idk how I feel about him. Piak and Chaiyan should just not be together. They are horrible for each other. Piak was a crazy ass bitch who couldn't stay sane for 1 sec, but Chaiyan was no saint either. He kept on doing things that would obviously trigger her. All in all, these two need to stay 6 feet from each other.
Piak: Jesus christ. She was so fucking annoying. This girl takes the word jealousy to another level. Piak seriously should've distanced herself away from everyone and indulge in some soul searching. Be alone for a while and come back when she can contain herself from going batshit.
Dao: One of the only people to hold a consistent brain cell throughout the show and such a goddamn angel. I love her! She looks out for her friends and genuinely cares about them. Puts others' happiness before hers and is just such a good person on god. She deserved better than Jate. Sorry not sorry.
Jate: As cute as he is, I hated him even more than Piak lmao. I'm exaggerating a bit but like bruh... wtf? This mf led Dao on and flirted with her hella times (at least that's what I remember. Don't come for me though cause I watched KC a while ago). If I was Dao, I would've thought he liked me too. But nahh, this bitch actually liked Jee. I hate people like this. Pick a person and stick to it goddammit. Then when Jee rejected his ass at the end, he crawled back to Dao??????????????? And idc what his excuse is. He broke Dao's heart and he's a hoe for it.
Jane: The superior sibling. This was where half of Jate's brain went to. Like others have said, her voice can be a little intolerable at times and her actions can come off a little cringe??? But she was cute and actually thought with logic and she genuinely loved Thit and let him have his happiness with Jee. She did seem more like the type of character that the show could've done without, but nevertheless still good. Her and Mark were also really cute together when they had their moments :)
KC having such a good cast is their strongest point, but it is also one of their weakest. They have so many characters and so many stories going on because they're trying to do justice to everyone, but then it just gets too much. It's like you're trying to focus on Mark and Yaya but you also have these other 5 backstories from side characters going on that are supposed to connect. It can get too much at times when you're really just trying to engage with the main lead.
Overall, KC was a good run but not something I'd come back to. Great casts though, I can't stress that enough.
