Interesting plot, but bad story writing and poorly written characters...
There are very few positive things I have to say about this series so I will get them out of the way first. First of all, the sets look amazing (for the most part) and the camera work is really nice and sets the mood. Ultimately, I rated this series so low because of the script and story writing. The plot is interesting, but it was executed so badly, and all the characters are poorly written. Because of that, there were so many awkward moments....The acting from some of the side characters wasn't good at all. However, a thing that everyone including the main cast is bad at, is the fighting/action scenes. Oh my god were they horrendous it looks like no one even tried to make it look realistic. I found myself chuckling every time a fighting scene came on, I just couldn't take it seriously. Another disappointing factor is that the main couple had like 0% chemistry. At times it was hard to watch, their 'love' looked very forced. I think this was due to the bad writing. Another thing to note is that a lot of the props were misused especially the weapons. Also the ending was so unsatisfying, there were so many things left without an explanation.
I will say this series was at least somewhat entertaining, but by no means a must watch. I would suggest you save your time and not watch this. However if you do decide to watch this show, don't go in with high expectations because you will only leave disappointed.

Better off watching the anime
Coming from a person who has watched the anime and read the manga, this adaptation does not do the original story justice. The show was extremely rushed and because of that oftentimes it got confusing, and that's coming from someone who is familiar with the plot. So I can imagine someones whos not familiar with it must feel. Also because of the feeling of it being rushed, it does not allow the watcher to even empathize with the characters. If the episodes were at least 45 minutes each or there were at least 10 episodes I feel that could have made this series so much better. Other than at of course I think the story is so heartwarmingly beautiful, and the characters are memorable.I would only recommend those who are familiar with the given series to watch this.

Best Korean BL thus far.
This drama got me hooked from the first episode and kept me engaged throughout the 16 episodes. It had me laughing for the first couple of episodes. The characters are extremely likable, though at times a bit awkward, but I personally don't mind as if feel it made it more realistic. Speaking of realism I think the love triangle aspect was pretty realistic and well done especially for a bl. One critique I have though is (((((spoiler warning))))) is that Tae kyung and Shin woo's relationship wasn't as developed as I hoped it to be. I think they needed more screen time together, as a felt in the ending it was awkward. Also, I cringed a bit when they kissed because Da on was there watching them lol, it would have been nicer imo if it was in private. But overall I'm satisfied with the ending, and glad Da on also gets a happy ending. Was this review helpful to you?
