Like, like this one! Wasn't sure what to expect but was drawn in right away by the great acting of all its cast. I like the original story line - not the usual love triangle or the murder/mystery or the unrequited love etc etc. What's interesting is that what happens in the drama could happen in real life. It's also a story of redemption and second chances. A story of faith in fellow man and that people can change for the better, no matter what has happened in the past.

Came upon this one without any prior knowledge and wasn't expecting much, but it turned out to one of the best j-dramas I have watched. In fact, I also watched season 2 and it didn't disappoint me either.

The story revolves around a small eatery and the patrons who come in to enjoy a late night meal. Each episode is different but they are all life stories and are truly heartwarming. The characters weave together as the show goes on, and the recipes that conclude each of the episodes leaves me wanting to go in and eat there too!!

Don't miss this show!

One of the best human dramas that I've seen in my life. Yes, it's an old drama; yes, some things may be outdated, but...the story is top notch and the leads are too.

It's essentially the story of how one turns from being a money-hungry, materialistic monster into one who has been changed through true love and recognition of what is truly important in life. The transformation is something you'll see through the episodes gradually and you'll gnash your teeth when the male lead is thrown aside without a care in the world. But, you'll clap your hands and jump on the couch when the ending comes... but I'll leave that to you to see for yourselves as the story unfolds.

You won't regret watching this...go on, give it a whirl!

This is my first China drama....wasn't sure what to expect but thought it would be quite old-fashioned and dated.....but, I was pleasantly surprised.

All members of the cast did a good job - especially the main cast, I really felt drawn in to the main couple while I also loved the supporting cast too. The story developed at a good pace and there was never a dull moment. The plot kept me interested and wanting to know what would happen next, and showed the typical Chinese culture and politics, the 'guanxi' that still exists today in China. There was no adult theme or shots while the love stories blossomed naturally and the story ripened over the episodes.

I would recommend this drama - I finished the 25 episodes quickly!

I liked this movie. Don't be put off as the actors and actresses did a great job.
The story sounds a bit tacky but the movie was well shot and the characters came through well.
It shows how one can turn one's life around if you put your mind to it and make the best of what you have.

I began watching this because I like the female lead (same lady as Bu Bu Jing Xin) and was quite readily drawn into the story with 2 good looking guys vying for her attention. This is a period drama and the costumes and settings were quite impressive - I'm no expert but the sets, the dress, the accessories, mannerisms etc all looked excellent to me. I quite fancied doing a time warp thing to try it out!

Storyline? I liked it and the action and story developed well through all the many episodes - many times I felt like I was in the female lead's role and agonising over all the ups and downs and loving it all........until the final episode, when I felt it was a bit of a letdown. I'd like to request the writer/author/director to review the story and re-do it in a much better way, keep all the viewers happy!

I particularly liked the explanations of the plot coming through as "thoughts"in the actor's heads, which are helpful to those like me who don't really have much of a concept of ancient Chinese history or culture, and who really got lost sometimes along the way, due to archaic Chinese sayings etc that needed explaining.

Anyway, this is a good drama and I'd recommend it - the 36 episodes will go by in a jiffy and you won't notice the time as you follow the twists and turns along the way.

This is a heartwarming story about normal people dealing with normal issues like death, what happens to families after death and how to move on from grieving.

Enjoyed seeing the story unravel, understanding the history behind the situation, seeing the various characters develop and mature. I think this is OK for younger viewers too, no nudity or mature themes. Watching it gave me some thoughts on my life and how I often found it difficult to move on from the past.

There's no dynamic action and the story doesn't explode on you, but if you enjoy a slower and more mellow drama with a heartwarming ending, this is one you might enjoy.

I had high hopes for this drama after the success of the first one. However, it was not to be: I was quite disappointed with the overall story, acting and development of the story. Some of the new actors did not compare to the first series and the story was a bit far-fetched and badly written. The ending seemed a bit as if everyone just wanted to bring the story to completion. There were just too many extreme situations and some of the acting seemed over the top, there was also a lot of crying ... felt sorry for the actors/actresses! Don't think I'll be watching this one again for the time being, at least.

Great leads - Cha Seung Won and Gong Hyo Jin - didn't expect the chemistry there!! The arrogant star vs the normal girl. Supporting cast also excellent choices - fun to watch the story play out over the episodes.

I laughed quite a bit in most of the episodes and remember it fondly as one of my top choices for k-drama (just think of the scenes inside the house) I thought the scenes quite believable, as in they could (and probably do) happen in real life. Anyway, another great job for k-drama - I give it a thumbs up and recommend it!

I like reading so waited till all the episodes were in before starting it and I wasn't disappointed. The cast are perfect - each has his/her own character, behaviour and aspects to the story line. Each episode has its own story and mystery to solve - and I liked the fact that it includes factual information about authors woven into the plot. By the last chapter, I was hoping for the next installment!

There's no violence, bad language or sex - the lure is in the storytelling, and you won't be disappointed. Give this one a try!

One of my first J dramas and I watched it many years after it first came out. Hadn't watched anything by Takuya Kimura before so this was a nice surprise.... he was, I think, at his prime then, so anything that he did was right - he could do no wrong!

Therefore, he gave the role a certain spunk and coolness that not many male actors could possibly do, even today. He gave hairdressing glamour and style! Of course, the ending was a teeny weeny bit far-fetched...but it was probably something that finished off the story and gave it the fantasy ending that made the drama the success it was at the time. Watch it!

Nice one! Loved the cast - no let-downs at all. I don't have a favorite member of the cast, they all did a great job.Story lines inter-weaved and tied nicely together at the end. I tend to focus on character development (which I think is an integral part of any drama) and this is another prime example of a great Japanese drama (and another reason why I don't like the dramas in my own country...as they fall down substantially in this respect).

This is a drama for adults, so there are plenty of issues and discussions for adults to think about, but its a nice slice of life drama. Action well-paced and just kept me going until the end, no boring parts, no long and drawn out episodes (like in some k-dramas) and no over-doing sobbing or extending crying sessions.

I liked this one and would watch it again. Go try it!

OK, I read the reviews first, so no surprise at the mature content.

At first I thought the story line would be a bit cliched...typical love interest and jealousies etc. So, I was pleasantly surprised by the realistic emotions and feelings that the main cast leads the viewer as the film progresses. True, I thought stars like Jo In Sung and Song Hi Hyo would not have needed to bare all for such a film as this - and I don't believe there was a need for so many such scenes - but they bring out the emotions.

The way the film was shot - use of color, close-ups, music and visuals - was top-notch. I especially loved the way the eyes and the face were used as instruments for conveying urgency, passion, fear and anger. The fight scenes also get a thumbs-up.

Following on from other dramas, such as "Sound of the Desert", this is another quality drama from China.
The story kept me going on and on and because each episode is only 45 mins, the time went by and before I knew it, I was on episode 25!

The plot is good, the actors/actresses were superb (villains were vile and the good guys got me cheering for them), action kept going at a good rate, the twists and turns believable - and at times, really caught me out. There were some funny moments as well as sweet romantic interludes, and they were done very tastefully. No nudity or adult scenes, which I applaud - I think often that modern dramas rely too much on sex and violence. I'd recommend my 11 year old daughter to watch this.

I liked the costumes, traditions, scenery and overall "feel". By episode 48, I did start feeling as if the drama was beginning to drag, but the final episodes redeemed the drama somewhat. However, the final episode, I felt, seemed a bit of a letdown. All in all, a good drama!

This must be one of the most underrated dramas. I'm surprised it hasn't made it into the top 10 recent dramas. Though there are no big name stars, this has to be one of the best dramas that I've seen and reviewed in the last year.

The story is fresh, there's a comedic element, no cliches, a mystery that keeps you guessing (at least till some episodes in) and a fixation on food that makes me want to put my coat on, buy a ticket and fly to Korea to eat what they're eating in each episode!

The main cast do a great job - I love all of the main characters, and they are totally believable in a fun and endearing way. I'd love to live next door to these guys! Should watch this!
