Let me start by saying that for the first few episodes I loved this drama. The child actors were phenomenal and they were well rounded and believable from the very start. However, things changed when the characters grew up. In fact, I found that my biggest problem with the show was Zoey. I am a huge Eun Hye fan but I am sorry to say that the character Zoey fell short. While I did sympathize with her, as a character Zoey was a little boring. On the other hand, Harry Borrison made the second half of the show more than worth it. He was the one character that actually got MORE interesting as they aged. Even better, you'll never see anyone work a cane the way he does. Second lead syndrome was a real issue in this show. Overall, the story was interesting for the most part, but it does get a little boring and drawn out at times.

I'll start with a word of advice, don't go into this drama thinking you know anything. It is not at all what I expected and that was one of my favorite things about it. As the story unfolds you think you are watching a show about one thing, and you soon realize you were completely wrong. One of the reasons this show is amazing is that sometimes I felt like I was watching the Breakfast Club and at others it felt like I was watching a scene from Lord of the Flies or And Then There were None.

I also was not expecting the characters to be as relatable as they were. I personally loved every single character in the school--whether they be villains or heroes (though it was sometimes very difficult to draw a clear line between the two). The music was surprising too. It's not often that you hear AC/DC and opera in K-Drama. Overall, this is a great watch. The story drew me in and while I had some serious doubts going in, I think that this drama is a great example of what happens when amazing writing, directing and acting come together perfectly.
