Came for Kao Supassara, fell in love with Great Warintorn and stayed for the show!
I often forward Thai Lakorn. This was the first where I was rewinding to watch scenes again!!
Tl;Dr: Duh! Watch this show!!
Before I jump into the review, I want to share that this review is based on my experience with Thai lakorn. I am not comparing it with American, Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese or Japaneese shows.
Story - The story was quite tight and everything wrapped up so well in the end. I really liked how the villains had a believable backstory. And, I found Suam(FL) & her family's story to be compelling too. The story is about Suam (who grew up in a slum with an abusive step father) and Danurut(an upstanding police officer with his own conflicting past), and how they fall in love over the course of a contract marriage as they chase drug dealers and criminals. The SFL & SML stories were cute & adorable and I feel like the story did them justice too! There were two things that I didn't particularly like - a) the way the step father died - I wasn't convinced that the douche-bag got what he deserved. b) the fact that Su (Sia Ha's daughter & interested in the ML) heads the operations of the flesh trade - it was completely unnecessary and didn't add any value at all. Plus, it wasn't very believable. It seemed like they threw that in there as an afterthought to give her character an end. The ML's sister character was annoying, but served the plot really well.
Plus what I really loved about the story was how loyal each little group was! The residents of the slum, the police offices in the station, Snow White & dwarfs and the villains! I absolutely loved how the residents of the slum were always there was each other - through thick & thin!
Acting - I loved every actor!! Honestly, I came to this show to watch Kao Supassara after watching her in My Forever Sunshine. I loved every actor in the show! Irrespective of whether the character was lovable or atrocious, the actors really delivered. Especially the villains. I felt involved in the show right from the first minute. I felt happy, sad, shy, excited, disgusted, embarrassed & other myriad emotions as I watched this! The cast really took me on that journey. Both Kao and Great emote very well and are really good actors! The chemistry between Kao & Great was amazing! I could feel it! I believed that Suam & Danurut were perfect for each other and truly loved each other. And, when Great smiles!! OMG! My poor heart! The chemistry between the SML and SFL was pretty great too! They were so adorable!! I am going to be on the watchout for more acting from the SML actor.
The music was pretty decent, it went very well with the story and didn't sound out of place at any point. And, the songs were enjoyable and added to the story too.
Definitely rewatch-able!! I'd watch it again pretty soon, to be honest.
Overall, I highly recommend this show to anyone who wants to watch a good, engaging Thai Lakorn!
