Honestly I wasn't too enamoured with this drama, it was a cute watch with some sentimental moments- but that was mostly all to it. The main plot was good, and I enjoyed the romance between the main couple, but other than that I felt the other side plots didn't really fit into the drama.
There were a lot of side plots within this drama, and mostly I felt that they did an alright job with them- but there were moments where they felt too out of left field. The second largest plot point after the main couple and their sort of 'love triangle' is the friendship between two men in the x-ray department (I don't know what's it's called lol), but their plot didn't fit into the whole story line of the drama. Yes, it was a nice story but I could have done without it. They didn't have much of a connection to the main characters; other than a few plot crossovers I don't really know why they were there. This drama is a 'slice of life' drama, and yes, that means following the lives of everyday people and their struggles, but I still felt like it was a bit awkward with the plot points and making it interesting. It felt like each character had a story that we followed, but then they never wrapped up their plot lines and just left us guessing what happened to the characters. They teased us with romance between two different couples, and then seemed to run out of time to finish what they intended to do with them. I understand that they can't wrap up all the plot lines, because they viewer should still be able to imagine the future for the world they've created for this drama, but this was just too much- they introduced plot points and then left them out to dry.
I also felt they made the 2ndML too much of an asshole to seem likeable, he did have redeeming qualities, but not enough of them that I could sympathise with his struggles and his unrequited love for the FL. I did feel sorry for him, but other than that I just wanted him to butt out of the main couples romance, and to stop being so cryptic with what he wanted. Another plot point not wrapped up, his struggles with his family and how he felt he could never live up to the success of his brother. That was a relatively large plot line at one point, and they made it seem like there would be potential character growth from the family in order to make him feel more loved, but this never happened and they never revisited that plot point- I was disappointing in this.
Anyway moving on to the positives because I've talked too much about the disappointing parts oops.
I really liked the FL, they made her seem so likeable and hard working that I couldn't help but want the best for her, and I was more inclined to agree in disputes between her and other characters. She wasn't too annoying or clingy, and they made it seem like she really was a real person who was just going through her own trials and tribulations in life. This was really well done, along with the slow burning romance between her and the ML (is he really the ML though? it seemed that the other guy appeared more throughout the drama...). I enjoyed the moments where she read the poems out loud and it showed the other characters going through their struggles, and their own interpretation of each poem. I liked how they kept the them throughout the whole drama, never straying from the 'poem a day' and keeping in light and sentimental. I also really appreciated that they didn't have a 'villain' so to say, yes, they had relatively disagreeable characters, but they weren't made up to seem like they were doing anything particularly bad. This really was a slice of life drama, and it stayed inside its' borders, not pushing any boundaries or being controversial in any way.
As a whole I'd say, yeah, go watch this drama- but don't expect anything drama filled or life changing. It's a slice of life drama and won't keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next episode, but it's a nice watch and teaches valuable lessons that many people would benefit from. The acting is good and everything is very realistic and pleasant.
