They have both the "Bestfriends turned lovers" theme... Like, you are already secretly in love with your bestfriend, but you guys are still denying it, keeping it, or don't wanna ruin the friendship...then another guy comes along to emphasize more how the male bestfriend will get jealous and actually admit to himself that he is really inlove with his bestfriend...But will not do anything about it...till fate just makes them end up together...sweet...
As I was watching MG2018, the strong friendship of the 4 guys (F4) strongly reminded me of the similarities it had with the men of AGD. I felt like, the young versions of the men in AGD are the F4. Like, when they grow old (the F4), they will still be cool, handsome and hilarious as the 4 men in AGD.
Like with F4, they will still be the strong, solid 4 guys. Who will do anything and everything to support each other. Will still have adventures with women and protect each other through good and naughty times (I am referring to you, the married man in AGD, hahaha).
I also feel that the F4 guys will look like the men of AGD when they "grow up". Still cool, handsome, gentlemen and perfect in every way.

Both dramas are similar in a sense that they kind of focus on "beauty" or something on the outside, without neglecting being intelligent and talented as well.
*Let me explain further. In Love o2o, the male lead, Xiao Nai, is unbelievably handsome and talented, the same as the lead in My ID is Gangnam Beauty, Do Kyung Suk is also handsome and unbelievably intelligent as well. Both actors who plays them are also what their characters embody, handsome and dreamy... The female leads, in LO, she is a portrayed as a "real" beauty, while on MIIGB, the female lead's "beauty" is a product plastic surgery. All the characters on both dramas somewhat rely on "beauty" or something physical.
**As for the differences, of course, LO is based on 2 people meeting and "getting married" in a computer online game, thus getting together in real life of the drama-i mean outside of the game. Then on MIIGB, people judge the female lead bec of her plastic surgery. So the dramas are entirely different plot, but both somewhat focused on "beauty" and proving that it is not everything: you have to have substance as well.

The plot of "On the Way..." reminded me a lot of Discovery of Romance. It was in a way, cheating but not cheating... There are both scenes on both dramas where you will feel the thrill of "getting caught". But its more felt on Discovery of Romance.
OTWTTA is similar to DOR in a sense that, they both have very confused female leads. Although the female lead in DOR is confused if she should choose an old love over the new, while in OTWTTA, the female lead is more into holding on to her old love while denying in her mind that this new male in her life is just a friend, but nevertheless, makes her feel better about herself.
Both dramas has a female lead thinking of keeping their current relationships, (husband or boyfriend) but another male came in (or came back) to shake their emotions, thus the drama. Plus in both dramas, you will be hooked by first episodes. They are fast paced and addicting.
The difference would be, in DOR, it is much more thrill of getting caught, but in OTWTTA, its much more calmer and comforting. Also, the husband in OTWTTA has the relationship broken already from the start of the series. While in DOR, the boyfriend is really playing it nice just to work out the relationship.

I do not think that the story is similar...just the robot theme is what makes them the "same".
I think another similarity would be that both female leads loved their robot boyfriends like a human male. The robot boyfriends are both caring, handsome and dreamy as well...Like, both actors who played the roles have a perfect body and face. And the attitudes towards the female lead is very superb as well. Makes you want to ask where you can buy such "robots"...

I think that when "On the Way to the Airport" was showing, its competitor drama was this, My Wife is having an affair this week...You know how korean dramas have a trend or a theme at a certain time (like time travel or robots or aliens)...
Anyway, they both have the same theme in a way,..Cheating or looking for other options of already married people...But it was kind of from a different angle for both dramas. In OTWTTA, it was from the angle of the "cheating" spouses itself. In MWIHAATW, it was from the angle of the husband who was faithful and cheated on and the wife that cheated's reasons...but a big point is, the endings were opposite of each other. I don't wanna spoil, but one of them, the original spouses forgave and got back, on the other drama, the "cheating" couple got together. At that time, I watched MWIHAATW, instead of OTWTTA, I mean, just got to pick one "cheating" drama at that time. I was still on my "cutesy" drama phase.

Same drama theme. The main difference is that in Absolute Boyfriend, the robot is male. In this drama, its female.
Both dramas have the same investigator and culprit in a cat and mouse chase. It gives that similar vibe for me.
The only difference is that Tunnel has a time travel element but Hello Monster does not, but deals with something in the past as well, but no time slip to complicate it than it already is.
