Sakata Gintoki In Love?
This drama was really cute and fun and much better than I expected. The characters are likeable and not the type you usually come across in school romance. For only 9 episodes they felt pretty fleshed out and real and I think the development didn’t stray at any point. The male lead in particular really reminded me of Sakata Gintoki and the dark humor/deadpan comedy of the show was reminiscent of Gintama, so I would recommend this if you are a fan of the anime! This was my first time seeing any of the actors but it was very well acted throughout, also side note that the female lead is so pretty and has the most mesmerizing eyes.Bonus point: there is an adorable cat ?⬛

Cozy, yet melancholic and thought provoking
What happens when we die, or rather, how do we leave things behind? That seems to be the central theme of this movie. We meet a group of people who are no longer living but not quite dead yet either. We get to know all of the characters and their attachments and ultimately get to see them have satisfactory conclusions and move on. The highlight of this movie has to be the parade scenes themselves. I have no words to describe the beauty of those shots, all I can say is that they made me feel I was looking at the universe from up close and afar at once and every light was captivating. The acting is very well done. I watched it for Ryusei Yokohama and although he didn’t have that big of a part, he really captivated the audience. He always takes on different roles and impress me. The music and sets of the movie are also great. I particularly enjoyed the caravan/ post apocalyptic yet cozy vibe of their little camp.
To summarize this is a film not about death, but about aftermath and memories. It’s general message is optimistic and well delivered and it is definitely worth checking

Unexpected emotional rollercoaster
Okay so let me just say this first: I do not support student teacher relationships. And yet I found myself rooting for them and having my heart wrenched all throughout this drama. Some things I want to state are that this is not a lust fueled relationship nor are they having romantic meetings in between classes. Nor is the female lead 'grooming' (which is a very serious world and has strong sexual implications) the male lead. The relationship isn't normalized either and the female lead spends the whole second half of the drama taking accountability for her mistakes. Now that I got that out of the way lets talk about the beauty of this drama. First of all the acting was executed perfectly by the whole cast throughout the drama. Especially in Jdrama's i find that a lot of acting goes over the top and it seems to remind you that you are watching a drama but that was not the case here. It felt like I was really looking over these people's daily lives. The leads chemistry is so strong, which makes the story even more heartbreaking when you feel their emotions. Every time they are together it feels like you are looking in on a private interaction and the micro expressions really sell you every scene.
The cinematography was beautiful and unlike any other Japanese drama or any drama that I've seen for that matter. There were these strange moments in the first few episodes where the shot would change into a black and white one anytime the character wanted to have a mini monologue which just stopped in the second half of the drama which was strange. There is also this weird fishbowl effect that happens occasionally which I don't understand the creative intent behind, but it only happens a few times so it's not a big deal.
Lastly and perhaps the most pivotal aspect of this drama is the OST. It is literally so beautiful and the music is used just the right amount. My favorite song is Prologue by the singer Uru and whenever it comes on I want to cry. It is so beautiful and whenever it came on during the scenes between Akira and Hijiri I started to tear up or cry outright. It was utilized just the right amount and whenever it did it hit you in your heart like an arrow. The lyrics of the song also perfectly fit the tone of the story that when I hear it I feel like I'm experiencing a highlight reel of the drama again. I love this song so much and it makes me so emotional that I can't add it to my car playlist lol.
So for people like me who are apprehensive about watching this drama because of the subject matter I would say give it a chance. Obviously not everyone will like it or approve of their love (as we see in the drama) but its not predatory as some people make it out to be.if anything it taught me more about healthy love and selflessness than most dramas that are made today. If you don't like it you can just stop but if I had not given this drama a chance I feel that I would really have missed out on a life changing story.
I give it a high rewatch value and I plan to watch it again but man it really took it out of me I need something easy to digest so my emotions can recharge I'm exhausted okay bye go watch it
PS - The male lead is so FINe. I haven't ever seen him in anything before but now I am tempted to go through his whole filmography damn. Also FL was very cute too.

GREAT FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE HIGH FANTASY AND POLITICAL INTRIGUE WITH A BIT OF MAGIC
Okay so comparing it to this to GoT doesn't do it justice because it is SO MUCH BETTER. The sets, costume, locations are all top quality and you can see that everyone behind the scenes put 100% effort into all the details. If i could give the music a hundred million stars i would it was that good oml. As far as the acting goes I think everyone did a pretty good job convincing us that they are their character, but at times you can tell that some of the actors are a bit off, but for the most part everyone is good throughout. Also all the people aren't white so it's actually bearable. At first I had trouble keeping all the storylines straight but it wasn't too hard to understand, just a lot of different characters with a lot of different motivations. All of them added to the overall plot though so there wasn't too much filler which I am thankful for. I never read the novel so I'm not familiar with the source material but I still managed to keep up for the most part.
A lot of people took problem with the character of Sang Sang and the actresses portrayal of it but I think it was well done and made sense. She was actually one of the best actors in my opinion and her micro-expressions add such a charm to the character of Sang Sang. While watching it remember Ning Que is all that she has known and her only family and also that she is sick from her chilling disease and he is the one who takes care of her so it makes sense that she is extremely attached to him and he is to her as well..
ALSO IF ONE MORE PERSON SAYS HE IS LIKE HER DAD I AM GOING TO SCREAM. LIKE I GET THAT HE WAS THE ONE WHO FOUND HER AND THAT THEY HAVE BEEN TOGETHER ALL OF THEIR LIVES BUT THE WEI CITY GENERAL LITERALLY SAID THAT HE FOUND THEM AND TOOK THEM IN AND DOES ANYONE REALLY THINK A 5-8 YEAR OLD IS CAPABLE OF RAISING A BABY NO
It also has to be said that a lot of people body shame Sang Sang which is just not cool and plain mean like she looks like a cute young girl it's not like she lives a glamorous life plus she has so much more to offer so protect Sang Sang okay?
The show also does justice to female characters making them complex and giving them autonomy and not just serve as love interests or plot devices. Speaking of there is very little romance in the show which is the opposite of what I usually look for but all the character relationships were so well done I didn't even miss it.
ALSO ALL THE GUYS ARE SO HOT.I KNOW THAT'S SHALLOW BUT I CAN"T WRITE THIS REVIEW AND NOT MENTION IT I HAVE NEVER SEEN A DRAMA WITH THIS MANY GOOD LOOKING MEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. OBJECTIFICATION IS BAD STAY IN SCHOOL KIDS BUT DAMN EVERYONE IS SO HOT ITS UNREALISTIC CAN THE CASTING DIRECTOR FIND ME A BOYFRIEND
Anyway definitely give this drama a chance because it is hands down one of THE BEST DRAMAS out there and I can't wait to watch Season 2!
