I don't even know where to begin.
They tried to sell this plot where the main character wants to find out who his "Enchanté" is between the 3 most popular guys at school, with the help of his childhood bestfriend. The two friends had chemistry and cute moments at the beginning, but it's somehow all gone by the end of the series.
I don't get why he was deceiving his friend for so long, it was tiresome to watch.
At some point I dropped the series around episode 4 and took me months to get the energy to finish it, only to regret it.
Enchanté turns out to be the guy himself... Which just makes him more of a worse main character.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this series. It lacked an actual good plot, it sucked how they made all the 3 guys into opportunists who were just trying to use the main character, the main guys chemistry got lost and it just felt dragging.

a masterpiece.
Honestly, all the symbolism the screenwriters came up with to go around the fact they can't explicitly show them together is just genius. The acting is simply outstanding, the feelings showing in the eyes even with Wangji's blank expression was one of the best actings I've ever seen. The casting was simply amazing and everyone portrayed their characters so well!
Watching it even after reading the novel did not disappoint in any ways.
Would definitely recommend it to anyone that hasn't watched it yet.

Had to rewatch it immediately after finishing it.
(disclaimer: I haven't read the webtoon... yet!)This drama made a remarkable job with the casting! It couldn't have been any better.
The acting was out of this world and it was easy to get immersed in the characters immediately, the story is fantastic as well.
The main character is definitely in my top 5 all-time favorites, I love how he was written and how Park Jihoon portrayed his character. Sieun's bond with Sooho is also one of my favorite dynamics ever, their friendship is definitely something.
I'd recommend this drama to anyone that enjoys the genre, you won't be disappointed.

Unbearable bully-whos-actually-in-love trope.
I saw so many people talking about how this was now the best Japanese BL, but turns out it was the toxic relationship romanticisers at it again. The first episodes are unbearable to push through, with the main character being walked over and ordered around by the guy he likes and his "friend" group.
Being called disgusting and pushed to the ground after confessing, but still running after him like a lost puppy. Obviously not his fault, and I felt terrible for him. The problem here is the "I bully you because I can't express my feelings, but I actually love you" trope. Bullying isn't romantic.
Obviously not all relationships are healthy, but this? This crosses many lines. And the amount of people defending it is insane. It's not ok because "it's just a show" and "they're not real people". If it's wrong in real life, it's wrong in media as well.

yet another bl with lack of consent...
I pondered giving the drama a chance because of the secondary couple, but honestly the main "storyline" is impossible to ignore. Even if Rain did it on purpose to get close to Payu or whatever spoilers I've seen from novel readers, the constant "no"s and pushing away from Rain that Payu ignored... It's absolutely insane how people will try to find excuses for this kind of thing, but not surprising since it's the same target audience as "tharntype". Absolutely terrible, lack of an actual plot and just s*x. The target audience is no other than straight cis women. Was this review helpful to you?
