Bittersweet ending but the only way it can end

I've never really liked bittersweet endings or where the main leads or lead die but this one didn't bother me. It was the only ending it can have that made sense especially for me who felt so bad for Ji Chong. I've never really seen a lot of second leads or part of a love triangle where they do not plot against the male lead to win the female lead. His character was mature, understanding and supportive. In the end, he gave up his love so she can be with her love. He really lived up to the saying, "If you love someone, set them free." I was so heartbroken for him. All the things he did for her and I don't think she really appreciated it that much. At least, we know Ma Jing knew it. Anyway, this ending of Zài Xing dying frees him from seeing Wolfie and Zai Xing living so happily and Zai Xing being sad and alone when Wolfie dies. I know it would have broken his heart even more to see her that way. Am I a fan of Ji Chong? Looks like it. Haha

I enjoyed the other characters also like Ma Jing, Wen Yan, Mo Xiao, Hai Die, Yao Qi and Bao Na. The latter, I'm not sure if I wanted her to be with Ji Chong. She seems too young or immature for him.

The story has a lot of misunderstandings that sometimes, I just wish, they would just explain their reasoning so it would clear it up. But yeah, if that happens, no story. It was a sweet story of a girl and a boy who grew up meeting each other again but in totally different situations that have them hate, love, hate and love each other.

I enjoyed it.
