This series is a no hold barred historical look at the reign of Emporer RenZhong of Song from 1022 - 1064. It is based largely on known facts, but does dramatize the lives of the royal family. This series doesn't flinch from the good, the bad, and the ugly of what can happen with these people and the decisions they make for good or for ill. It bluntly shows how even good intentions can have disastrous consequences that can and do affect the next generations. I really think the writers and the actors capture all this amazing well. This is a series you will either enjoy or hate and those that hate it, are going to be the ones spewing their hatred out the loudest. If you are looking for a historical drama to watch, this is a good one. Wang Kai, Jiang Shu Ying, Ye Zu Xin , and Bain Cheng each do a fabulous job in their roles in this show. I definitely recommend t.
