Rare Old School Wuxia Drama
You thought that China forgot how to make action wuxia dramas ever since they discovered CGI but out of no where, this appears.The only disappointing part of this show is perhaps how Hou Yan Jia is a tragedy and he's made popular by fighting for his rights during the events right before WW2/Japanese occupation occurred. Alot of events in the show are also fiction that pretends to be non-fiction and a biography.
Unlike the other dramas or movies about him, this drama portrays a longer period of his life, while not historically accurate for the purposes of entertainment, still reminds you about the tragedies of war and how the West and the Japanese who viewed themselves as superior to everyone else acted in weaker countries.

Comedy that has geographical lines
This is a comedy that nobody outside china can appreciate.As such, the movie can become a completely waste of time to a laughing good time (depending on your sense of comedy again).
This is basically a low budget comedy that nobody outside china can appreciate due to the context of the jokes, as it's often a spoof or parody on events that has happened. And since comedy itself is subjective and everyone has a different funny bone, even people in china do not find this movie funny.
To be honest, just skip this movie unless you are dying for some wuxia, but even then there are much better movies to watch if you're okay with older movies.

Mainly a arama about ordinary people's slice of life with a tiny bit of ninja slashing
A Drama about ordinary people is boring, but what if we make them retired ninjas and make the show about them wanting to be ordinary people?I think everyone who made this show knew that ordinary life is boring, so they added some ninja elements to make it more exciting.
But while filming and writing the script, they forgot that ordinary life is boring, and made the entire show mostly about ordinary life with a tiny bit of ninja action, which gets you this show.
It's incredibly boring and unless you ignore 80% of the entire show, what you're gonna be watching is a slice of daily life. If you like that, then you'll probably like this otherwise just watch something else.
I think the trailer drills it in pretty hard too about what you should expect, which is again, ordinary slice of life mostly with a tiny bit of ninja action.
Oh also guns still exist in the drama so...yeah...
Honestly this show deserves less than a 1.

Waste of Time
If you watched the first season, you already know why you don't want to watch this.Even the Korean ratings have dropped and they're all complaining that season 1 is better, and it's only the fans of the cast that are screaming "this show is great!" on MDL.
Every aspect of this season pales in comparison to season 1, even the few action scenes and it's pacing is terrible.

Just watch the other drama of the same name instead
Lacking most of the time, ending is rushed and makes you feel like you wasted your time.As usual, chaebols chaebols chaebols chaebols chaebols.
slow and draggy, you can just skip the first and last 10 minutes of each episode and you'll be fine.
Spineless MC and very tolerant villain is what ruined the show yet we wouldn't have a show without either of them...

The Best Parallel World Drama
The Best Parallel World DramaThe ending is a left open ended on purpose, but this drama keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire show.
You're not left wondering about loose ends as it's one of the few korean dramas that ends well and has good pacing.
While it's not explained why he is able to travel between the two worlds, you're not really left wondering why either he is able to due to the way it ends either.
Rain acting here is stunning as well. The only frustrating thing perhaps, is as the FMC which is more of a trope and not really a flaw. As there needs to be a hot headed policewoman who ignores police protocol and dives headfirst into danger without a partner backing her up.

Tired of the finger pointing Action Dramas?Watch this!
A Detective Crime Solving Drama with Wuxia filled with Action! No over the top CGI and actors that can only fight in slow motion and by finger pointing!
There's a little bit of bromance here too but it's not BL. Some say that this doesn't do the novel justice but not all literature can be portrayed perfectly on film and there's always some changes to help viewers enjoy it more on TV.
I would really like a sequel or for Jackie Chan to make more dramas

Remake of interesting scenes from the condor trilogy
In case you didn't know, this is just a summary of the condor trilogy, its not only LOCH which is about Yang Gou. It's kind of pointless to watch this as it is right now and I have no idea why they even made this.Not to mention that they casted old and popular actors, paid for VFX and stuff.. Surely there must be other dramas that can be made with the money invested into this instead.
This is basically 2 full stories combined into one, with a LOT of content missing.
It is a trilogy, because The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber (倚天屠龍記) is a part of the condor heroes story and takes places after LOCH, and YG is basically the reason why the sword and the saber exists.
However it doesn't seem like the final story will be adapted at all
Edit: rumour has it that the 2nd half of the show has been pulled due to low ratings. Looks like my review is right after all.
