In both After Sundown and Don’t Sleep, the main characters are dealing with a curse and malevolent ghosts. Both also involve sleep as an aid for the curse. Both are suspenseful and have intense scenes. Don’t Sleep is darker and grittier than After Sundown but both have very ominous vibes when watching. After Sundown has romance involved in its plot. Both movies are also Thai productions.
Not The Monkey King 3 in particular, but if you like any of the Journey to the West or Monkey King adaptations or the classic story, you might like Shui Long Yin.
It's the story about the spiritual growth of one male protagonist as he journeys through the world, learning the value of friendships, life, and suffering.
Share underlying Buddhist and Taoist philosophy and tenets throughout.
Have some artistic and creative elements inspired from the religion and philosophy that is reminiscent of Journey to the West and the Monkey King adaptations.

-Both movies are about a teenager who has a passion/hobby
- Both are teenagers facing difficulties of becoming an adult
- They both have family issues (in both cases the topic is not that explicit or relevant in the story)
- They both are helped by an adult
- The adults care about them more than their own parents
- The adults support the teenager's passion
- Both are set in a school
- In both movies the teenagers have a strong bond with the adults (in "My heart leaps up" the girl has a crush for the teacher; in "Karaoke Iko" the boy's feeling can be considered slightly romantic)

Those movies are spiritual twins, using the presence of nature and its ambivalence in similar ways.
