exccentric but not even medicore.
If you are a Thai major in a university and you have a native speaker there, would you not speak thai? :)This different language and it's explaination made no sense at all. And if you are friends and grew up together, would you not be able to speak each other languages after a time?
I would have wished, they would have not the "murder" case in it, which was clumsy and unrealistic and concentrating more of the MLs opening up their feelings for each others more in detail. They could even save money by only have eight episodes. ?
The show was ok-ish, besides the fluffy moments and some character growth of the MLs, it did not have anything special or worth remembering. Again a show which did not need to exist and if you do two languages, just don't explain it at all and nobody would care so much about it.

The most selfish bitch gets the most loyal guy
The most obnoxious FL I've ever seen. I have nothing against the old "sparks rekindle" phenomenon, but I hate boys/girls who abuse their partner’s kindness just to check if he/she is still into them. A little spoiler here, just so I can curse her to hell. Thank you!
The ML was a stupid one-woman man. I’m calling him stupid because he chose the worst woman to be one with. This girl dated him briefly during their school days but left him because of her own domestic issues. They meet again in college, but she’s with another guy who doesn’t seem too serious about her (I must say, the rugby captain treated her the best she deserved). Alright, she prioritizes her new, popular boyfriend, and the ML receives a flat rejection.
Years later, they meet again. This time, she’s single, and the ML has a sweet girlfriend. This b*tch messes with his head again, which results in his breakup and a serious injury that impacts his career badly. Anyhow, they start dating, and the ML faces a lot of job rejections—he’s going through a rough patch. At this point, a normal partner would support his mood swings. Why? Because that’s what partners are for—especially if someone has acted like a human shield for you. There’s no way I’d leave a man like that alone in his hardships. But this piece-of-crap FL tells him she's been offered a job in Belgium. And if that wasn’t enough, she picks the first misunderstanding to dump him and grab the job offer. Selfish pro max. She could have asked him to wait, but no.
I mean, okay, he let his frustration get the best of him and said some nonsense, but there was absolutely no need for her to react in such a bizarre way. She even compared him to her shthole dad. Sorry, btch! You’re the one who's like your dad—the same shitty DNA. Years later, she’s back with her wedding invite (RIP to the poor guy she’s marrying—she might just leave him for the next job offer in LA, who knows).
Anyways I am glad the poor ML didn't end up with this horrible woman .. thank you !! script writer.
PS: My frustration is just for the character; no hate to Park Bo Young (I love her to the moon and back).
Kim Young Kwang was amazing—his smile kept spreading warmth throughout the movie; otherwise, I wouldn’t have watched this crap at all.
The chemistry was pathetic, but that’s because it was written that way. It’s not the actors’ fault; it was just how the plot demanded it.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this movie. There’s already enough chaos in people’s relationships; why watch something that further weakens your faith in true love?
Drop it. Don’t watch it.

You gotta stick with it to get to the good stuff!
I'll admit, I'm a big fan of Shen Yue and that's the reason I was excited to watch Smile Code. The clips and trailers make it look like it's a typical rom-com, but it's not. After watching 8 episodes, I can say that It has more depth and heart than almost anything I've seen lately. I wasn't sure of what was happening the 1st two or three shows. Their meeting is not a "meetcute". The lighting is dark and sometimes scary as we get to see what Liang Daiwen dreams about. He suffers from Alexithymia, a condition that renders the person unable to feel or express emotions. This is from a past childhood trauma. In the 1st three episodes we see his trauma, but you can't really tell what it is.GuYi's life is also somewhat dark and scary. She shares a place with 3 others. Things are weird there. By the end of episode 3, it changes. Liang Daiwen moves her into his house for her safety and she gets to see his world. I've only watched 8 episodes, but I can see that there are reactions he has been showing since episode 1, you just don't realize what you are seeing.
This show has 30 episodes. It will take a while to open Liang Daiwen up, but I have no doubt that GuYi is the one to do it! Along the way, we meeting others in both if their lives. Even these don't follow the same rom-com pattern.
For Meteor Garden fans, I can absolutely see a parallel with Liang Dai Wen and Dao Ming Si. Both are lost little boys until Gu Yi and Shancai open them up. I can say this because I am watching Meteor Garden concurrently with Smile Code. I'm doing that because MG is my all time favorite and it's going away from Netflix in 2 weeks. Because I'm watching it for the 6th and last time, I can say they both give me the same feelings.
So, please don't stop watching Smile Code to early because it seems dark, scary and boring at times. If you leave early you will miss some absolutely amazing moments and storylines!!
So watch Smile Code, stick with ut when its tough at the beginning and trust that It will absolutely be well worth your time! Pretty soon, you too will be on the edge of your seat waiting for the next episode, just like the rest of us!

Not a BL (again), coming of age and discovering yourself
While many of us not understanding japanese have gripes with some of the subtitles, the second negative was the wig. It was a distraction in the whole series. It's not such projects are done overnight, so after casting they could have told him to grow his hair and use extensions. The third negative is the ending for one of the characters, keeping in the closet, being at least gay and denying himself to be truly happy but getting married for the "family".
The ending for Mishima could be closer to the manga where you see him living with Fujimoto together as a happy couple.
Other than that, the team removed some of the harshest scenes from the manga and tuned it down for normal viewers in contrast to "Happy of the End" which was raw. Other than that, the story was very close to the manga, the acting and cinematography was really good.
Mishima grows after enduring mental and sexual abuse, also with help of his understanding mother. The change of Fujimoto from bully to lover was also nicely done.
Overall a depcition of the harsh reality in a rural area in the 1990ties which is still common nowadways where especially boys who do not conform to expectations of society are still bullied without reason and due to bad parenting. There should be licence to be a parent imho, because it's a lot harder than driving a car.
When you find a service which offers good subtitles, you should watch it, but don't expect a BL, because it's a gay series which is a trend I wholeheartedly approve of.

at first i was a bit concerned thinking i wont like this. was i wrong. I LOVE every aspect of this series the first episode did not have me interested the first time but as the series goes on it just gets better and better. the acting of the actors is phenomenal and the story by itself is very well put together. i can truly see that the creators put a lot of efforts in making this. Was this review helpful to you?

Starting off soooo strong
This has the potential to become a 10 stars story from me, judging from 3/4th of the episodes. It started off so strong, and just getting stronger and more griping for me as it goes on. I enjoyed the storyline so much, and the acting was so strong, not to mention the chemistry between LXY and WJY was chef kiss. To me, the plot was convincing and the execution was near perfect, up until the final fight in which Murong Jinghe finally exacts his revenge and brings down Murong Xuanlie. However, the arc after that started to stress me out. It feels like there are 2 different scriptwriter writing the first 25 plus episodes, and another writer took over and botch the last few episodes after that. The arc in which Yue Qin suddenly became stupid and turned evil and the laughable scene of a King thieving on his son’s herb and eating it like a goat for the sake of immortality was ridiculous, in fact I need to stop my bingewatching at that point of time and regroup. Lol. They did YueQin dirty after such long episodes, he was such a likeable SML from the start *sigh. Not to mention how ridiculous they turn the mighty Murong Jinghe with the 7days idiotic outofmind vigil over the supposed death of Mei Lin. Even borderline creepy (who the hell kept on romancing a corpse?? Not to mention, she should be smelly rotten corpse and on her way to liquidify within that time span if you want to be realistic lol. But who watch Cdramas for the realisticality of it right? Hahaha). Luckily they save the plot back after that with the war etc, even though not to the point of this story deserving a 10.This is my second dramas of LXY (first know of him in The Blood of Youth, and his character there was charming even though he’s a baldy boy. Lol). Not many actors can pull off being baldy and still looking quite good and it shows in this drama. With his get up as Murong Jinghe, he was so charming and lovely and handsome and beautiful all at the same time. He carried off a vengeful soft hearted wronged prince so well, his cry made you want to cry as well sometimes. Though he did cry too pathetically during his return after losing Qingyan, I felt that it is unbecoming for a general to be that way in front of his other soldiers, trying to upkeep moral. He just lost a few mighty points there lol. Wu Jinyan as usual, really delivers. Her earlier fight scenes were so well executed I was gleefully clapping in my mind. In fact, almost 85% of all fight scenes choreography was very much well executed and enchanting. YQ’s actor carries the second male lead role well, even though you are team Jinghe/Mei Lin, you still want him to be happy (except for those few episodes near the end). The villain (Murong Xuanlie) was also well written, coming as someone so cunning, but also was a poor wronged soul turn bad. His end is bittersweet in a way. General Lin was so and so though, i’m not that much into her character or care too much for her. Surprisingly, the role of Princess Zigu was acted quite well, coming across as lovely innocent girl and even though her love story with someone maybe 30years her senior ideally sounds quite erghhh sometimes, but the acting of Zigu’s and the emperor’s was able to make it less awkward and mature love, rather than the pedophile vibe it can possibly be. Qingyan should have an honorary mention as well and his death broke me as much as it broke Prince Jing, but I pity that guy having to deal with Murong Jinghe during his 7day vigil with a dead girl. Lol. You are a strong man Qingyan! Lol. And as much as Qingyan deserved his appreciation scenes, I was as disappointed that Eunuch Liu was killed that easily without any mention whatsoever after that. He died heroic! I love that old fatherly eunuch how dare you!
Costumes were allllll so nice and beautifully crafted, no matter if it was jinghe, mei lin, yueqin or even Zigu. It was a feast to the eyes. The cinematography was also pleasant to the eyes. Ost was also heard beautifully accompanying so many scenes, not overly done or underused. And of course, the whump scenes I got from this drama kept me well fed (I adore those male lead whump scenes beat me!)
All in all, I very much enjoy this drama and staying up late for 3nights bingewatching this in between work shift was well deserved.

My favorite Drama!
I really loved every second of this show. Everything was amazing, even though it smashed my heart into pieces. I mean it was obvious that they don’t have a future cause her daughter was reading the story, but I wished so many times that it would be different. I never thought I could be so excited about a series that was mostly about fencing. At first I wasn’t sure if I should watch it because I thought fencing would be boring, but god I was wrong ! I would advise everyone to watch it. Have fun!♥️Was this review helpful to you?
A spectacular evaluation of being
With a nostalgic and picturesque production design, Mr. Plankton takes the exploration of identity and belonging to heartwrenching heights. With each character in the drama exploring 'who they are' by what they have in their lives, we're taken on a journey of definition. The acting is stellar in developing each character's nuance and bravery in adapting their respective outlooks on how family can or should define one's self.
This drama is one-of-a-kind and gorgeous to watch, it doesn't pander to tropes or hide raw reality from the viewer.

It could've been better
Okay. So this show started out kinda slow for me like the set up just wasn't great. To be honest, I think they just kind of threw us in and then expected us to feel this family dynamic with this group of people that we weren't sure how or when they got together. So that kind of set me off first thing. Also I feel like in some ways the show wasn't sure what it wanted to be. It was really light hearted at the beginning and then became really intense at the end. Which is why I started to like it more near the end. I really did feel like there was aFamily dynamic once we concluded. I just feel like we should have set it up better at the beginning. Another thing that had no purpose was that they kept hiding the villain. Every time you saw his face, it would be concealed and then, when they finally revealed it, we had no idea who he was. We'd never seen him before. They kept kind of making it seem like we knew him but we didn't know him. So I didn't know what the point of shrouding his face was. The main cast was incredible. All 4 of them were amazing together and separately. I loved it more as it went on. I loved the family dynamic, but once again I wish we had set that up better in the first couple of episodes because we don't know when they got together how long they've been we have just have no idea and then it slowly starts to piece together at the end. But because of that some of the heart and humor at the beginning felt unearned but once you just accepted that this was a group that had been together for a while the ending was so sweet and heartwarming. You really rooted for them as a family. All that said I really believe had the show taken time to set up everyone's connections better and earlier it would've went from a 8 to a solid 8.5 maybe even a 9.Was this review helpful to you?

I often wondered why in one website’s ratings of a drama is high and another is low? The same show……………I think it’s related to the age groups of the audiences that is watching…….This drama, in my opinion is not very good……Esther Yu acting is ????????????? She think she is a barbie doll and portrayed as such….she tried acting cute but came out doltish. Ding Yu Xi became a better actor now, He have one of the most attractive and expressive lips in the show industry………..but he has the ugliest fingers…..stop bitting your nails Yu Xi, does not do anything for your image!!!!!!!!
The drama itself is also lacking….. too much graphics and not enough stories…..it is not one that you can’t wait to see the next episode……
If this kind of drama is your cup of tea, go for it....in the mean time, I rather watch something else but will come back if nothing else is attracting my attentions.

Intense monster scenes elevate a damn good looking package.
With stunning cinematography, hearty music and intense action scenes, the latest film in the Godzilla series delivers delights for almost all the senses.Godzilla Minus One is film number 37 in the franchise, and the 5th film since the reboot. Does that mean you have to have seen a bunch of Godzilla movies to keep up with this? I don't think so. My own experience with the series is limited and I stuck with it. Necessary information still emerges, either in dialogue or by simply witnessing Godzilla's progress on the white screen.
It is a period film that takes place during and after the Second World War, and works in harmony with the very first Godzilla from 1954. Which certainly makes it easier.
It also helps that the monster itself isn't the focus of the film. He's there, absolutely, and of course it's Godzilla's rampage that drives the story. But the focus is very much on the people. Above all on the kamikaze pilot Kōichi Shikishima.
Or the supposed kamikaze pilot. For Shikishima (Kōichi Shikishima) has second thoughts and fakes technical problems with his plane. Not long after he lands on an island, and the giant, God-like, monster attacks and the pilot is one of the few survivors. When he returns to Tokyo, it is with real feelings of guilt over what happened.
It is feelings of guilt that haunt Shikishima for a long time. They set it up in the relationship with Noriko Ōishi (Minami Hamabe), a young woman he meets and wants to help. They make themselves known in the relationship with the colleagues and later friends he meets in his new job. They guide his actions when Godzilla reappears and attacks Tokyo.
Kōichi Shikishima and his relationships are of course the heart and soul of the film. It elevates Godzilla Minus One to something more than just a monster movie, it gives the movie value beyond just seeing a cool monster destroy cities and boats. It also becomes a bit too much.
I struggled with the rating for this movie. Because at times the people's stories are drawn out for too long. The story is losing momentum and I'm starting to lose interest. Godzilla Minus One has the characteristics of melodrama, a genre that I personally have a hard time with. It was in these moments that I considered a low rating.
But then the monster makes an entrance again. The action scenes, Godzilla's attacks and the humans' fight against him, are genuinely exciting and at times gripping. The energy is back.
Also (and almost more importantly) this is a damn good looking movie. The photography is beautiful, the scenography places itself believably and perceptibly in the current period, and the special effects work. Godzilla himself is computer-animated, and looks good, but at the same time in a way that I couldn't help but wonder if there could still be a dude in a very well-made suit in there.
Not to mention the music. Composer Naoki Satō may well be the film's strongest card. Conveyor of emotions, underpinning of action sequences. It is an experience.
And thus I still end up in a reasonably strong 4 Star. Despite its flaws (and certainly not everyone will agree that melodramatics are a bad thing), Godzilla Minus One is an incredibly well-made film, an impressive piece of craftsmanship that doesn't always, but at least often enough, offer cinematic thrills.

Should You watch?
This drama has an incredibly captivating storyline that instantly drew me in. The plot is both intriguing and layered, keeping me eagerly engaged with each episode. The female lead’s acting is outstanding, bringing her character to life in a way that feels so real and relatable. She perfectly captures the emotional depth of her role, making it easy to connect with her journey and feel invested in her story. The pacing and development of the storyline are also handled well, adding to the overall immersive experience. Each episode feels like a well-crafted piece, with a balance of drama, suspense, and emotion that keeps the viewer on their toes. The characters are well-developed, and their interactions add depth to the plot, enhancing the series' overall appeal.
I'm looking forward to the remaining episodes and have high hopes that they’ll continue to bring the same joy and excitement. There’s a fascinating journey unfolding here, and I can’t wait to see where it leads. If you enjoy stories with strong characters, emotional connections, and a plot that keeps you guessing, this series is definitely worth watching. It's been a fantastic ride so far, and I’m eagerly anticipating what’s next!
